hey im new to fish and i have some questions can i have a fish that lives in a temp 72 to 82 with a fish that live in 62 to 73? also how do black moor gold fish react with other black moor gold fish please help me thank you :-)
Lol -we had a black moor years ago, we called him Gobby, and he was our favourite fish ever. One day mum took loads of blanket weed out of the pond, and realised he was missing.. We sifted through piles of blanket weed until I found a gobby shaped lump in the weed. I peeled it back and there was gobby! But it was sad, 'caus we thought he wouldn't make it, but we put him in the pond and he came back to the living for many more years! Gobby had been out of water for over four hours. R.I.P. Gobby.
omg hes so beautiful. Every time I see these fish at the pet store and I stop and take a look at them. I find them beautiful and I hope to be getting one soon. I want to keep it in my room and I'm wondering how big of a tank I am going to need? I would also like to have a telescope eye goldfish in the same tank
@darknintendoxavgn What a coincidence! I actually got a black moor today! I have him in a 10 gallon tank but when he gets bigger I will upgrade to a 29 gallon. If everything goes well I will get either another black moor or a telescope. Btw do you know if your fish is male or female? I know you can't really tell until they are a year and mine is fairly small but it looked thinner than the rest so I'm guessing its a male...
@darknintendoxavgn I thought Black Moors were more likely the ones to get bullied. Mine is so shy. I go to put food in the tank and he gets spooked by it.
They look so healthy, I LOVE Them. =) Great tank! I have 2 Goldfish I have had for 2 Years and 2 Black moors i bought a week ago there all happily settled I used to have fish but they died and with these fish I defiantly dont want things to go wrong! Please give me tips or anything!!:)
@Nergock, @djme289, agreed, if the water isnt staying fileterd or oxygenated, they will swim near the bottom. kinda like when uve been sitting down for to long and stand up real quick and you get light headed. it's because you dont have enough oxygen getting to your brain, same with fishies mate.
I have a black moor and I love him (or her) so much. Then when people come to my house they're all like "WTF that thing? A goldfish? It's all warped and fat!" And my heart breaks a little bit.
@thebirdisblue yes they do, they can go with other fancy goldfish such as ryukins and other orandas. i have two black moors with one ryukin and 5 other goldfish. they get along well.
oh yes i forgot, remember not to put common goldfish and commets in with them, they willl compeat for food as the long bodied goldifsh ( commets and common) are fast swimmers wilst the fancy goldfish with viel tails, butterfly tails like the ryukin and black moor are slow swimming fish. so the faster ones will get to the food before them.
ummm... i need help with my blackmoors. i got mine 2 days at wal-mart(lol)they were so active and now when i put them in my tank they wud just go to the bottom and stay there.they wont eat their food. what i feed them is a wardley goldfish floating pellets.
so if u find the heart to help me wit my problem please dont hesitate to message me.=]
@djme289 I got a Black Moor too about 5 Days ago now and all he done was lay at the bottom of the tank I thought he was dieing or ill he wouldent eat or anything either. But i woke up one morning and he was swimming around happily he is just getting used to his new home so dont worry! :) If your Black Moore is mixed with other types it may be hard for them to get food so make sure they get atleast one flake X Good luck! :D
@djme289 i agree with dijme289, ik this is late. it may just been a shock for them in a new environment. iv gotten some from walmart, the ratio of logevity is that 1/5 of the fish you buy there live fro more than a week.
Walmart doesn't have the best of fish. However, they could possibly have swim bladder disease, which includes symptoms of not swimming around so well, hanging at the top, or hanging at the bottom. Try feeding them a few peas (yes, peas). You'll have to get the peas soft, and make sure to take off the outer shell of each pea. Otherwise, I don't think there's much you can do. Oh, and black moors have poor eyesight compared to other fish, so try to get the peas pretty close. Good luck!
@watertiger21 Yea at my walmart there would be dead fish in the tanks all the time and the works would just stare at them. I would be like WTF! Eventually they got rid of there fish.
There are lot's of black moors on Youtube but few with that strength of pigment! I'm assuming you feed them a high quality/protien dry food diet. What extra's (bloodworm, daphnia) are you using to maintain that rich colour? And how often?
Nice set up you have there, Black Moors are great fish and seem to be a joy to watch swimming around in the tank. My Moor is stall at a small age but hope to have him living for many of years. Any idea of what they like to eat best? Thanks
Again great fish you have there, very nice
Have a look at my tank and rate it also people. Also leave a comment see what you think i can do to improve my tank. Many thanks :-)
My Black Moor turned golden and I know that comes with age but there is I a giant zit like black dot on his neck. I am wondering what it is. Please help.
I used to have 3 black moors but they died of something called like swimmers cramp or sumthin they said that when i poured in the food that the fish came to the top and ate some air with the food... anyway i was wondering what fishes can live wit the black moor???? and if anyone has any questions u can ask me.
why do people put goldfish in tiny tanks? if you cant get one big enough, wait until you can. also do research! anyway, nice video, its nice to see a comfortable looking tank.
I have some kind of orange gold fish, but it's about as big as the black moor, I don't think it's the common gold fish, I also have a black moor, a 1.5 gallon tank, it might be a little cramped, but I'll expand it eventually..
I have been looking at pictures on google of black moor, but after seeing this video, I have got to get one. I am trying to talking to talk myself into getting on next week. What size tank do you have yours in? Are they fast growers>?
i have had 2 black moor fish for 5 weeks in a 5 gallon tank they seem happy, they grow rather quickyl so in a couple of months i will be getting a 10 gallon tank
@woogleberry lolz xxx i just got a big tank in the first place so i dont have 2 replace the tank when they get older but mine r babies at the moment absolutely tiny !!! but there not on youtube yet because when i tried uloading it it said failed 2 upload
mine look different. maybe mine are only young but there tummy isnt bulged like that. and they have gold in them when light reflects. i dunno what to put in my tank, is it live plants? what kind of live plants and how hard to i have to have the filter pressure?
I adore black moors, we have four in our tank at present two large and two smaller ones we put in recently. Our biggest one is sooooo friendy, he comes up and says hello alot.
i have a great tank, but its spoild by the calcio, he has swim bladder problems, so he turns upside down, its not fatal so he wont die, but it doesnt look as nice
put him in a bowl of water 2-3 inches deep. and feed him nothing but peas for a week. after that he will be fine just dont feed it flakes ever again. thats what i did whith my goldie and he hasn't had those symtoms seince
I have a blackmoor but the goldfish I had attacked his eyes hes blind now still alive I got him a new tank but im wondering if you had this problem if its common.
i just got a baby and hes awesome, check out my video of him, goldfish arent as boring as i always thought they were i found that out when i got some koi and that lead to my BMG
westphalianprinz, acctually male betas are known to be excelent community fish. its just that some are real assholes. i have a community tank with tetras, gouramis, catfish, plecos, and more. including a male beta. ive allways had a male beta in my aquariums. only one ever attacked my other fish.
It should be called blue moor! ^^, I have 1 too. A black moor and a betta in a 2.5 gal. I just bought this black moor today! its been 4 hours now and mooch (blk moor) is still complete. My betta stays away wid mooch hahaha.. It's funny coz betta is known for its territorial behavior and this 1 is not normal! But cooch flares when mooch gets closer and then he swims away.
I wonder how would mooch looks like tom.. I love betta so much and i'm starting to like black moor too!
@khk0510 If one is orange white and silver it isnt a black moor but probably a telescope fish. If your fish are over a year of age the females are fatter than the males
aww SO cute. i miss my black moore. his name was licorice. i havent seen him for 5 years because i had to give him to my friend when i moved. i wonder if he is still alive. i miss him a lot :) and i want some more!
I really want a black moor. Though I am going to get one in June for my birthday. Yay!

depends on what tank you have, if 30ltr, buy one blackmoor then wait a month until the next one.
KobyR9 3 years ago
if you do, let the one of them go in the tank first to get to know the tank before putting another one in because its too overwhelming for the fish.

how do u know if black moors and girls or boys?idk i have 3 but 1 isnt black.1 is orange white and silver.

@khk0510 If one is orange white and silver it isnt a black moor but probably a telescope fish. If your fish are over a year of age the females are fatter than the males

Hello. I have a question. My moor was attacked by my betta a week ago. Its missing skin from its eyes and stomach. Do u know What i should do?

You shouldn't put bettas in with any other fish, except female bettas. Separate them. And let the goldfish heal.

I'm glad you have a big tank! Goldfish need a bigger tank than most people realize.
