@Ragitsu Well, by the surname, if you're not born inside the US you can tell he's brazilian. Which is not a suprise as Brazil has its own Spec-Ops group. But the accent the voice actor had likely wore off by half the game. That's why he has been made fun off as the "fake-foreigner". Specially as we have a good voice actor at RE4 doing a work with a Spanish character.

I don't know what insinuation is worse: that United States citizens are ignorant of culture outside their country, or that someone in Australia or Kathmandu automatically knows that the surname is Brazilian.

There's the issue of people having names and not necessarily being from a specific country, but we'll not go into that.

Oh, it *was* strong-er at *some* points, but still pretty evident for the entire game. Certainly evident enough to be different to anyone that listens to Resident Evil 3 Carlos and Umbrella Chronicles Carlos.
