  • So jacked!

  • Man this guy is an amazing drummer *__*

  • Does anyone know the speed (BPM) of Failed Creation Chorus? I learned that today the the correct speed and was just checking to see if its the fastest I can play, thnx

  • i think that Kollias has the greatest technique and Tim is the fastest...but both are great drummers:-)

  • Although I respect Tim very much, I can with 100% accuracy claim that George Kollias can achieve 280 with his feet.

Tim and George are on a shared first place on my top 5 drummers.

  • Is he mexican american or what??

  • @gundamfan100 asian american

  • Tim You are THE BEST!!! \m/

  • Dave Weckl and Vinnie Colaiuta? Those guys will be ashamed!

  • he is a tank!

  • one of the fastest drummer in the world :)

  • Tim Yeung in Morbid Angel is going to be awesome, if anyone can fill Sandoval's shoes, it's this guy.

  • @mjm00011

    Pete left?

I don't mean to sound ignorant, I just don't know the lineups.

  • @ZmetalmanZ

Pete recently had back surgery, apparently he has been having some serious back problems for years and had to get it done. From what I have read, he is going to be in rehab for a while and Yeung is now the drummer for MA. It has been confirmed on their website. There is only one Commando Sandoval and he will be missed, but Yeung will be a worthy replacement.

  • @mjm00011

Damn man, that sucks. But yeah, Tim is deffinitly a suitable replacement.

    Thanks for the info man.

  • @mjm00011 dnt forget its only temporarly! true there is only one Commando on this planet but tim will be perfect on the new MA cd! tim will make pete proud!

  • I love this man...

  • I wish tim would do a clinic in North Carolina. sick drummer

  • he played with nile live, he was never a member of the band

  • my only problem with Tim is when he plays he looks really stiff :( other than that he's great :P

  • @TheMetalclub666 he may have played for all that remains, but i know he drummed for nile as well

  • Hellhammer of Dimmu Borgir can play 280 bpm on double bass. listen to The Chosen Legacy. you will shit yourself!

  • george kollias can do 280 bpm 16ths. check out his dvd intense metal drumming. he plays from 200 til 280.

  • Dude Nile might do 268 quarter notes but no way in hell can anybody do sixtenth notes at 268!

  • @zakakb AND Vital Remains...

  • WOW MAN...

  • OMG..!!!

  • Dudes ever hear of this drummer?

I stumbled across this drum solo video via Vic Firth's website.

    Just type and search:

Paul Wandtke Vic Firth full live drum solo Mandeville, Louisiana

    This guy is badass too!!!!

  • he would look bad-ass with a crew cut, Tim Yeung is a great drummer!

  • OMFS!! *¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬*

sorry, i can´t control me lol

  • I love you Tim <3

  • Tim Master

  • haha..

  • who gives a shit about you writing down a comment about you not giving a shit! haha

  • behavbing like kids...

  • spelling like kids. :P

  • haha, cool, you got me. Anyway I like you better than the insulting one. You seem fun.

  • Tim Yeung is one of the greatest and the best technical drummer as well. he's one of my fave drummer. my other faves and the best metal drummer to me:

    1. George Kollias (Nile)

    2. Derek Roddy (Nile / Hate Eternal)

    3. Chris Adler (Lamb Of God)

    4. Steve Bolognese (Into Eternity)

    5. Jan Axel "Hellhammer"(Dimmu Borgir)

  • add pete sanadoval and we have a deal...love u're list!

  • gk does 280bpm 16ths on his dvdB)

  • tim plays in vital remains which has songs in the 270-280 range as well.

george is the man too though!

  • in my opinion, there are some drumers that tim is equal good as they are but may not so intensly!i mean like:pete sandoval(morbid angel) ,Derek roddy, hellhammer, thomas yang, portnoy!

  • First of all, it's thomas LANG!!! 2nd of all Portmoy? with the likes of Lang derek roddy tim yeung?? do you play drums?

  • fisrt of all ye its lang my mistake!!!2nd Portmoy does not exist,Portnoy maybe yes,3rd yes but im begginer!

  • ok then you will soon (when you start listening more closely) know how impossible it is to put derek roddy/portnoy/lang and tim yeung in the same basket. I HAD to call you out on that! :D

    cheers

  • He's got exactly the same voice and tone and accent as Tim Duncan from the SASpurs lol...

    Awesome drummer. Soooo neat.

  • whats the song at the end of the vid?

  • deathdrummer WHAT THE FUCK R U FUCKING TALKING ABOUT? i was talking to drummercano. Tim yeung is fucking intense guy, and dont EVER tell me to go hang with my scene friends becuz i got none. fag.

  • 0:10 o.O

  • George Hit 280 on his intense metal drumming dvd :)

  • I think Keep on Kalessin's drummer is faster. His bassdrumming sounds like a heavy machinegun!!!

  • Vagard Larson is my favorite drummer!

  • George Kollias def does Well over 250 Listen to "Nile - The Essental Salts" look it up on you tube, Homie does at least 270ish in that song!!!!

  • Listen to what may safely be written :Q

  • essential salts is 250

  • "Papyrus Containing the Spell to Preserve its Possessor Against Attacks From He Who is In the Water" goes 270 ;) oh and 265bpm or smthn on annihilation of the wicked.

  • How can be inspired by Vinnie Colaiuta and Dave Weckl? XD

  • Who says a metal drummer can't have Jazz or Latin influences?!?!!

  • Is this guy really that fucking fast??

  • he is....XD....

  • Tim is fucking crazy once it comes to drums and doublebass.

  • tim rocks

  • Tim Yeung is amazing

  • Tim can't be overrated cause he's actually that fucking good. People like Joey and Travis Barker, they are good too but nothing compared to Tim Yeung and Mike Smith. He knows what good drumming is. Tim hit 872 bass drum hits in one minute at that competition, which is pretty slow compared to the work he does in groups with his own set up. Too bad Tommy was "fired" from the band.

  • so true dude...i mean joey is a good drummer but compared to tim yeung, mike smith or george kollias hes nothing... as for travis barker i dont even know how he plays wasnt even really interested and from the little i saw id have to say im not very interested either...^_^

  • yea as joeys decent but highly overatted and travis is even more overatted

  • yupz ^_^

  • i love you, tim!

    :D

  • Damn he should have stayed with Decrepit Birth.

  • Definatly man. Decrepit Birth is awesome.

  • he doesnt know anyone that can play 280 16th's??? he should check out the drummers of: the berserker, braindrill and such :P

  • Berserker's drummer is a machine. Literally.

  • they put effects on the recordings, and on some songs, they may put directly a drum machine, but when they play live, the drummer plays as it is played on the cd. so he's a machine, we can say that :p

  • he doesnt know anyone that can play 280 16th's?????????? is this dude hight hahaha. how bout lord marco, navene koperweis, brett batdorf(althought he doesnt do singles), george kolias, derek roddy.........cmon man

  • lord marco plays 280 TRIPLETS so in fact he is just playing in 200 bpm in his kicks while playing 280 with his hands, the same lie that does kolesne from krisiun, George plays up to 270 (according to his new dvd) and Derek up to 260

  • yes, I wanted to say just that George (Kollias) is doing 280bpm 16th-s according to his dvd if I'm right, so it's possible indeed and we have the example :D hail George !!

  • yea i think george did do 280 im not 100% sure maybe it was 270 but hes def over 250bpm

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP! GEORGE KOLLIAS DOES 1,000,000 BPM! lol.

  • so thats why tim won WFD

  • No man... Lord Marco can do 300 bpm 16ths... listen to apocalyptic feasting!!!

  • nice ths drummer actually knows what good drumming is mentioning guys like colaiuta and weckl

  • I remember when I met him and Dino and Joe Payne. I made a fool of myself because I was sooo starstruck. I spluttered and I couldn't get my words out right. It was THE single most best day of my life though. He's a really nice guy and so is Dino and Joe. They're amazing and they're my heroes :D.

  • NOTE: My comments are posted backwards. Read from last one up.

  • They said "thats him!" All I saw was this tiny little asian kid sitting at the drums and thought it was someones little brother or something.

Just from looking at him I assumed there was no way he could possibly keep up with me, so I started playing as fast as I could. He listened for about 2 seconds and then cut loose! His speed and accuracy absolutely blew my MIND!!! And this was about 17 years ago!

  • what was the name of the band?

  • hahaha aww ! that's kinda cute though x) haha just look at him now.

    damn you're lucky

  • I grew up with Tim and we are still really close friends. He is a very kind and humble person who really values his true friends. All his life he has had a deep passion for music and more devoted to those drums then anyone I have ever met. The first time I met him I was like 15 and trying out for his band. I set up my guitar and started warming up and the band asked me when I would be ready to play. I told them "as soon as the drummer gets here".

  • i met hiiiim!

  • fucking hott lol

  • is it just me, or does tim seem a little reluctant to be interviewed? seems a little bashful.

  • man!

    Tim yeung is fucking HOT!!!!

and he's a badass drummer, i have a drumstick that he gave me :D

he really knows how to rock!

and for those who think theyr better than Tim...just deal with it guys, don't be jelaous,i know all of ya can play drums well. Tim is a king of drums, just fucking deal with it and get the fuck over it!

  • I'm going to have my girl moment: he's freaking hot!! oh yeah great drummer to....

  • who the fuck are you to say that

granted krimh is good but u jst cant compare them. have u seen this guy play?

    twat

  • wow... forget who is better... perdet, your a fucking ass hole... hahaha

  • you wish fag have you seen this guy play?

  • fuk u cunts tim is fukn king he pwns end of story fukn twats

  • FUCK HES HOT..!!

  • tim goes much faster than 220 bpm, bleed the fifth ist at 240, ca.

  • tim yeung goes over 300bpm

  • Tim Yeung & George Kollias are my favourite drummers, damn they're good !

  • Tim Yeung is amazing!

  • How fast is Kollias? In terms of 16ths?

  • kollias has been know to hit 270-280bpms, much faster than tim, and also tim is good, btu he only goes like 220 in his songs, and kollias will genrally go 250-270 during songs

  • so casual, "ummm, low 250's?"

  • LMAO is he asian.... hes fit =D

  • what the helL?? BTw do you like CoBjudgiong by teh name?

  • he has a piercing in he lip? ^o)

  • George Kollias can do 280, it's incredable.. hes the only one known to do it. Normally anyway, as in, not heal toe, or some dumb technique.

  • Kollias uses swivel technique, as Tim here does too. And I don't think any technique that enables you to play at such speeds can be called dumb.

  • What i meant by normally was what you said.

  • whats opening of the gates at?

and 285 by hellhammer......... that's faster than 265 isnt it? but yeah I know what you mean. I have yet to hear 300 with the feet. check out the band lividity. their drummer cruses. not sure what the bpm, but raped for rent must be around 260 ish. I know dennis chambers has his right foot around 150bpm, which proves that it CAN be done. although noone seems to be able to hit the left foot up as hard

  • Hellhammer plays doublestrokes when he gets really fast... that's a different category of technique. As for Opening of the Gates, I believe in the studio they just programmed the kicks and live Sandoval plays triplets. That's what happens when the guitarist writes the songs...

  • is he asain? lol

  • I don't know why thats funny but yes. He is asian. Well half asian.

  • what are his descents?

  • like...what is his nationality?

  • i mean, he is a mix of white and ...? do u get me?

  • gotcha. yeah i think i read somewhere that he is half white, half korean...i may be wrong but he does not look like he is japanese or chinese, so i am guessing korean or vietnamese

  • By lookin at his name, i guess his dad is Chinese and mum is white, cuz Yeung is a chinese sur-name. i'm chinese

  • ah ok. like he just doesnt look chinese to me. but he could be chinese...ive never really seen yeung spelled that way before either. either way u r right about his dad bein asian

  • 'yeung' is more like people from Hong Kong..

  • ohhh gotcha. cool...so hes probably like half chinese half white

  • Haha yeah, my friends last name is Yeung and he's from Hong Kong. It's pronounced like "young".

  • Tims Mom is all American with the pure CrAzY to go along with it. And his Dad is a really cool and humble little Asian guy! So Tim is a mix of Pure American and Asian. I grew up with him and we are still really close friends.

  • Hey, erm, ASIAN is big, we have Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Thai, Laotian etc etc. We look the same but we have different cultures.

So could u pls ask him whether he is of Chinese descent?

  • I'm pretty sure Korean. I know he's definitely not any of the others you listed and I remember his dad saying something about Korea.

  • Great band! I have see them 2 times and both times they kick ass! I have talk to all those guys and they are cool as hell! i cannot wait to see them again!

  • He is pretty muscular.

  • moral of the story is he's about 40 bpm wrong.

  • How do you plan to prove yourself about that?

  • is he not in vital remains anymore?

  • Epic drummer.

  • Why the heck are everyone's influences Dave and Vinnie?? I know they are good and all but wow

  • i got to meet him when he came to winnipeg they rock!!!

  • he is pleanty damn wrong. hell hammer goes 300 bpm in the chosen legacy, and plays heel up. flo mounier also got 300+ bpm in pretty much every cryptopsy song with his hands.

  • chosen legacy is 285 and there isn't a cryptopsy blast above 290...get your facts right

  • ok so 285......... thats faster than 250. watch lord macro go 300 on youtube. also, derek roddy in his recent drum book has an audio track of him blasting at 150 bpm 16th notes. brett badworf, ( cant spell his last name) goes 290 on youtube with his feet. and glenn, shows what you know about cryptopsy. on flo's dvd I've clocked out blasts above 300

  • blasts with hands can get 300 bpm, but feet can't if we talk about singles... Brett batdorf goes 290 but he uses heel/toe in other words.. doubles... lord marco does 16th note triplets when he goes 300 bpm 16th notes with his hands (like max kolesne from krisiun) and flo mounier from cryptopsy does blastbeats but he does 8th notes with the feet and unison 8th notes per hand.

  • About the feet in singles you can get up to 265bpm using ankle motion like George kollias or Romain goulon... it's imposible to make it faster in singles :S Cheers!

  • I got to meet Tim Yeung tonight at the Divine Heresy show and I feel very priveleged. He's really cool and was willing to sit and talk with me at the merch table while Shadows Fall was setting up. The whole band will come hang out with you at the bar, you don't have to go look for them hanging backstage...definitely personable guys and badass metal musicians.

  • That is so cool. I'm jealous. >:)

  • yah , ur so fuckin lucky!

  • He's dreamy......*slaps self* Great drummer, by the way.

  • really cool guy, he has skills.

  • Tim Yeung is friggin cool.

  • Tim did great job on that, though I would have loved more organic sound on the drums. In my point of view, Tim has done his best jobs on these recordings: Hate Eternal - Conquering the Throne (on this record Tim is only 19!), Decrepit Birth - ...And Time Begins, Council of the Fallen - Deciphering The Soul. Check those records, and bands out.
