Now some people don't like the GSG5s but I've heard the newer ones are decent. Still you have that sig so you should be used to owning crappy .22's :P If I wanted another 22 rifle I'd get an M&P15-22... so ya decide what kinda 1911 you want?

1911 will come down to whats the cheapest and whats American made and whats available at the time! I know nothing on how a gun should feel or any of that stuff. I just like them =)

@FireArmsResQ My biggest problem is the GSG5 is so heavy I mean it really got in the way of my tactical WORL loadout :P And a 1911??? Dood it's 39 ounces and that's not even loaded why you can get you a glaawk and save enough weight to carry a 25 auto :P Goota think WORL doodicle. LOL

Seriously I forsee in your future a Remington R1 it's about the cheapest 100% american 1911 you can buy. Best part is remington has history with the 1911 they made a shitload in WW2.

@FireArmsResQ Ya it's like the catfish comedy flows through me like a 10 sack of white castles with extra onion :P On a serious note I don't think you'd do bad with an GSG5 I heard they are pretty damn accurate. They do weigh a ton though which is suprising for a 22. Para USA I know at least the GI which is what you'd be lookin at at least according to gunblast.com and his story on them is made in Canada eh, and they import them and service is handled in the US. How aboot that eh?

@FireArmsResQ See theres grey areas there but about the best value and is 100% made in america you can find now is the R1. Now you also have the springer GI's that the frames and slides are forged in Brazil (hrmn... maybe by taurus, Taurus's full name is Taurus Forjas or Taurus Forging, thats one thing I love about their guns is they do forging not casting.) But they basically ship the frame and slide up to Illinios and it's assembled there. Their high end stuff I think is 100% made in the US.
