The government can even get 'rid' of the God-specific ones as not to impose Judaism/Christianity on non-believers, but this country was built on a need to practice Christianity. This is precisely the opposite of an attack on religion!! This is a recognition of the enormous wealth of religious belief in the United States. It also invoked several images from the Christian bible. The speech emphasized the great plurality of society in the US, and even of the breadth of different beliefs within Christianity. The biblical references were also brilliant - particularly the analogy to Abraham and Isaac.
