I couldn't stand the new Brittany. Her ass is too grown. So far, she haven't appeared in too many episodes for the new season. And what ever happened to Deon? It was like she was never on the show. They completely wrote her out.

This season was a lot more grimy than the other 3. I mean it literally deserved it's time spot at 10pm on BET. I didn't like how Malik was like losing everything :( he's my fav. Kelly was non existent. And the lil girl is a hoe!
I gave up on The Game season 4 mid way. The writing lacks here and there. It gets very fast at times and some of the storylines I could give a damn about after a while(like the Kelly one)

everybody has they option but i really liked how it started,the two year jump made the first 5min of the game really a must see because of the big changes was crazy.out of all the changes what i dont like is they retired jason.i dont care what anybody says im glad they got picked up by bet cuz only bet would roll out the red carpet for a black sitcom while other white networks wont really care unless it brought it big viewers like it does now

I had the same questions as you. The first episode definately should've chilled on all the over melodrama and informed us on why things were the way they were. I had a hard time understanding why Malik was such a dick towards TT when, even though he's always been an asshole, Malik was never just outright mean to TT. Hopefully tonite we'll get some answers.

I agree with this review 100%. I know Rick Fox probably didn't come back because of Dancing with the Stars but they could have explained why him and Tasha ended. Oh and when you said Terrence looked like a butterfinger crisp, I died lol.

OMG! thanks for this review cuz I was at worked when The Game came on. Since society is so used to reality TV now we have forgotten that "rushing" the kid's life is part of non fiction TV. What I liked about the game is the show was so real! I wish they would've kept little Brit, but it is what it is. Stacy Dash and Rick Foxx probably were tied up with other things and/or wanted more money. They could come back later though and the other non regular cast pop up here and there.

the games was so lame when i was younger...i watched the first season and it was whatever. If i was cw i would have canceled too, becuz none watched the show. Now that it was canceled and on BET everybody wants to hop on the games dick like it's the best show ever, which is what a lot of BET viewers do. Half the ppl that watch it now didnt even know about it back in 06 until now. they are not racist...but that's what a lot blacks do when they shit go down the hole. ( im black by the way)
@pharrellfan "BET viewers" is like an oxymoron. If The Game never had viewers, it would have never gotten picked up and BET would not shell out the money to put it back in production. Millions of fans fought to keep the show on The CW and it was canceled anyway.
Prime example: Nobody was watching Girlfriends when it got canceled, which is why nobody cared to try and pick that shit up. As far as I'm concerned, CW wanted to keep a schedule with shows about rich white folk and sci-fi shit.
But @TheFuryTV the producers were sending out requests to "The Game" fans to go to different forums to sign petitions to keep the show. They were sending out a message that the show can be saved, and it worked. If only they could have done that for "Girlfriends" because I really did like that show, and if I knew of a public forum/online petition to save THAT show, I would have signed it, myspace-ed it Tweeted it (I think Twitter existed in 2008), facebook-ed it, everything.
@j2201987 Girlfriends was such a good show, but when Toni left...it went all downhill. I heard they planned to bring her back for the season finale, but they canceled the show in the middle of their last season. That was messed up...they could have just let them finish. Ugh...

I liked the return episode, but I did not love it. I liked the drama and catching the viewers up. I agree w/Kid FURY on the laugh/joke situation. I was not laughing during the premiere. Hopefully they lacked in funny because of the drama they were showing. Maybe next episode will be funnier. Maybe....

I'm sure someone has already talked about this but the reason why Rick Fox was not on the show and not with Tasha is because if you remember at the end of season 3, he was moving to Miami for his job at ISM. And I never looked at Terrence J as being sexy but after seeing him on The Game, I started to look at him in a different light! His body was ok as far as slim bodies go!

Why do people say The CW was racist because The Game was canceled? That's bullshit. The show wasn't getting many viewers or improving in viewers therefore it got canceled. It's plain and simple.
And you can't say they wasn't getting advertising because hardly any shows on The CW get ad slots outside of The CW channel itself. The only ones that get outside ad slots are ANTM, 90210 & Gossip Girl.

The viewer ratings continued to drop season after season with the last season avg. less than 2mil. I would've dropped them too if I thought making it longer w/o a laugh track would've been beating a dead horse. Like you said, the laugh track is necessary because their jokes were often dry.
Plus I don't see how the show succeeding with a more dramatic tone. That's something that would've been awesome BUT too much of a risk because it's a hit/miss situation.
My point is The Game wasn't successful on The CW. Period.
It doesn't have hardcore fans like Supernatural (you wanna talk about petitions... see theirs) or attract the comic-con crowd like Smallville or get teens excited like ANTM, 90120 & Gossip Girl (and surprisingly that new cheerleader crap & that adoption show). It was a lackluster show on a network that can only afford what makes them money. There's no racist aspect about that.

CW cancelled Girlfriends, which was the highest rated show on their network a few years ago, after the strike for no reason. They then followed suit, saying they're are taking the network in "a different direction", by canceling The Game, which was another top rated show on their network.
No I didn't answer my own question because Girlfriends was not their highest rated show; Smallville was. Smallville even had more ratings than Girlfriends when it aired on Friday nights. C'mon, son! Overall I was pleased with the show. Especially see as I had low expectations. This is BET we're talking about.
AND one of my biggest pet peeves was being able to spot ATL landmarks when the show is STILL supposed to be SET in San Diego. Like how you mentioned Atlantic Station...and Malik's house was straight out of gone with the wind. I gotta say, I was thouroughly disappointed...it's clear Debra Lee got her sausage fingers all over this show and infused it with a nice helping of ghettocity-which it didn't need, b/c it was already ghetto enough.
I'm glad that the actors are gettin' paid, though. But it would be AWESOME to get "Girllfriends" back on the air with the full cast!

I had the same questions as you. The first episode definately should've chilled on all the over melodrama and informed us on why things were the way they were. I had a hard time understanding why Malik was such a dick towards TT when, even though he's always been an asshole, Malik was never just outright mean to TT. Hopefully tonite we'll get some answers.

I agree with everything U said, but it seems JBET (Jigga Boo Entertainment Television) is trying tyo turn The Game into a drama. They brought back the same actors, but it seems they changed the writers. Tomorrow's episode, Melanie is supposed to tell Derwin about the mistake...can't wait to see it!

I was actually pulling for her to get that Aaliyah role but that was snatched from her...womp. OMG! thanks for this review cuz I was at worked when The Game came on. Since society is so used to reality TV now we have forgotten that "rushing" the kid's life is part of non fiction TV. What I liked about the game is the show was so real! I wish they would've kept little Brit, but it is what it is. Stacy Dash and Rick Foxx probably were tied up with other things and/or wanted more money. They could come back later though and the other non regular cast pop up here and there.

the games was so lame when i was younger...i watched the first season and it was whatever. If i was cw i would have canceled too, becuz none watched the show. Now that it was canceled and on BET everybody wants to hop on the games dick like it's the best show ever, which is what a lot of BET viewers do. Half the ppl that watch it now didnt even know about it back in 06 until now. they are not racist...but that's what a lot blacks do when they shit go down the hole. ( im black by the way)

@pharrellfan "BET viewers" is like an oxymoron. If The Game never had viewers, it would have never gotten picked up and BET would not shell out the money to put it back in production. Millions of fans fought to keep the show on The CW and it was canceled anyway.
Prime example: Nobody was watching Girlfriends when it got canceled, which is why nobody cared to try and pick that shit up. As far as I'm concerned, CW wanted to keep a schedule with shows about rich white folk and sci-fi shit.

But @TheFuryTV the producers were sending out requests to "The Game" fans to go to different forums to sign petitions to keep the show. They were sending out a message that the show can be saved, and it worked. If only they could have done that for "Girlfriends" because I really did like that show, and if I knew of a public forum/online petition to save THAT show, I would have signed it, myspace-ed it Tweeted it (I think Twitter existed in 2008), facebook-ed it, everything.

I liked the return episode, but I did not love it. I liked the drama and catching the viewers up. I agree w/Kid FURY on the laugh/joke situation. I was not laughing during the premiere. Hopefully they lacked in funny because of the drama they were showing. Maybe next episode will be funnier. Maybe....

I'm sure someone has already talked about this but the reason why Rick Fox was not on the show and not with Tasha is because if you remember at the end of season 3, he was moving to Miami for his job at ISM. And I never looked at Terrence J as being sexy but after seeing him on The Game, I started to look at him in a different light! His body was ok as far as slim bodies go!

I love Meagan good but I didn't like the role she played. I wouldn't say she plays the hoe role but more of the girlfriend role. She needs to make better acting choices. I was shocked when Terrance came into the scene. I'm glad it's back but I doubt it will last.

Why do people say The CW was racist because The Game was canceled? That's bullshit. The show wasn't getting many viewers or improving in viewers therefore it got canceled. It's plain and simple.
And you can't say they wasn't getting advertising because hardly any shows on The CW get ad slots outside of The CW channel itself. The only ones that get outside ad slots are ANTM, 90210 & Gossip Girl.

The network's excuse for canceling the show had nothing to do with viewers, but they said they were going in a new direction and looking for hour-long dramas for primetime.
Akil productions had people petition, they changed the show to an hour and took out the laugh track, yet it was still canceled. Hmmm...

The viewer ratings continued to drop season after season with the last season avg. less than 2mil. I would've dropped them too if I thought making it longer w/o a laugh track would've been beating a dead horse. Like you said, the laugh track is necessary because their jokes were often dry.
Plus I don't see how the show succeeding with a more dramatic tone. That's something that would've been awesome BUT too much of a risk because it's a hit/miss situation.

It doesn't have hardcore fans like Supernatural (you wanna talk about petitions... see theirs) or attract the comic-con crowd like Smallville or get teens excited like ANTM, 90120 & Gossip Girl (and surprisingly that new cheerleader crap & that adoption show). It was a lackluster show on a network that can only afford what makes them money. There's no racist aspect about that.

CW cancelled Girlfriends, which was the highest rated show on their network a few years ago, after the strike for no reason. They then followed suit, saying they're are taking the network in "a different direction", by canceling The Game, which was another top rated show on their network.

I nearly spit out my tea when Terrence J.'s boney self came on my screen.They planned for Rick Fox to still be on the show but he couldn't do it because he was on Dancing With The Stars. If the show is renewed for another season Rick Fox will probably come back.
Overall I was pleased with the show. Especially see as I had low expectations. This is BET we're talking about.

AND one of my biggest pet peeves was being able to spot ATL landmarks when the show is STILL supposed to be SET in San Diego. Like how you mentioned Atlantic Station...and Malik's house was straight out of gone with the wind. am i the only one who remembers PUCCI/maliks half-sister? & erika gluck shouldve came back :(.... ya the guy is gonna say something then malik might blame it on T.T. this show is so sad now...& who cares if tasha was smoking a black...& rick fox has no relations with tasha anymore obviously, you never know what happened in those 2 years so that's why he's not here nomore...& i wish janay would just die...also we don't know if melanie is guna tell derwin yet, she had to think of how to tell him

One thing you have to remember, and I apologize if someone said this earlier, but the show is now being filmed in Atlanta. Since Brit-Brat was such a youngin when the show went off, I couldn't see her parents uprooting her from Cali to be on this show.

@TheFuryTV I just read an article about lil britbrat Erica Gluck... she actually said on her facebook account that she wanted to continue her role on the show, but they never called her. They replaced her. (Her parents weren't tripping bout the change in location)
but they say britbrat is supposed to go thru this "coming of age" rebellion and the new chick fits the role.... WHATEVER -_-
