  • boo who, the bass player rules!

  • great song shame they probably wont play this live anymore..

  • Devil Delight from their album- Magazine (1978)

  • awesome as allways :):)

  • kind of sounds like Black Sabbath meets Led Zepp there at the beginning. This rocks Heart is awesome!

  • This was like singing rap in the 1940's. I don't know why but this song doesn't go with the 70's.

  • hella led zepp influenced awesome!

  • one more good heart tune!!!

  • Sounds a bit like "fever dog"

  • @Tumtumlovesbeer You're right haha, yeah.

  • Comment removed

  • I have followed heart since i was teenager in the seventies and still love them,is this live show available on dvd and if so where can i buy a copy.Cheers

  • This Song Represents and maintains

  • Roger Fisher seemed really excited at the beginning.

  • Will you guys just listen to the Fucking song! Titties

  • "Wasn't that just rotten?"

    I love you, Dreamboat Annie.

If only I could have been born early enough to be your magic man, your devil delight, so you could go crazy on me and we could cook with fire and have our white lightning and wine because it'd be high time to kick it out and go straight on for you while rockin heaven down to keep my love alive.

    That was fun.

  • If something doesn't cover your nips, is it really a shirt at all?

  • @Omniculler It's more suspenders at that point.

  • @maxman1602 Heh. Too bad they can't suspend his pants cuz they ain't attached.

  • This band ROCKED. And Ann had one helluva set of pipes (and still does).

  • Great song! Love ya Ann! :)

  • Queered-out got gutairist @ 1:06 spoils the scene.

  • @Liozeris That's the bassist.

The guitarist was wearing some sort of kimono.

  • I never heard that before either! Rocks.. Since Nancy was a huge Jimmy Page fan I can draw a parallel to When the Levee Breaks.. Anyone hear it? (or is it just me?)

  • That was fuckin great

  • This is about as heavy as Heart gets, a different sound for them but they ROCK IT!! Excellent song to smoke a joint to!

  • @justfkedup ah, no heart can get way heavier, check out , "in the night" brigade album, just one example...

  • WTF is with the bass players shirt?

  • @hebertoclemente Too bad Ann or Nancy weren't wering the same outfit......

  • @themuddman

     Jagger's 70's wardrobe

  • Awesome heavy blues.

  • One of their best!

  • This is such a great song. Happy that I came across this.

  • It sounds Led Zeppelin like.

  • @rocky8130 yeah, the drums are definitely from zeppelin's when the levee breaks.

  • I remember this song!... from their Magazine LP.

  • the camera man hates the singer for all I know. She's terrific, one of the best voices in rock or any other genre of all time!I don't want to leave the band behind, I can't, they are amazing!

  • ANN IS SOO BEUATIFUL !!!

  • @babyj1996 I agree too!!!!

  • I grew up on this album. I also, love the Devil.

  • DAMN- they are sooo good live!

  • Althou I LOVE Heart and I'm aware it was the 70's, I have to admit that I find the bassist's vest somehow disturbing O_o

  • @TheMaryTere He sure can rock that leather bustiere / bustier

  • @classic7890 Too bad he didn't trade outfits with Ann..would have been much better. Seriously tho, great song, nice to hear something besides the "big 3" MM, Barr, and COY.

  • her voice is mesmerising, she is so freaking hot. the song kicks ass, sort of zeppeliniish.

  • WHOOO! :]

  • This was about cake that was delivered to them at a hotel room. Funny subject, awesome song.

  • the best chix in rock ever. so powerful ann's perfect voice...still to this day!!

  • Good song reminds me of when the levee breaks a little bit

  • Same thing I thought.. Levee breaks.. but the girls admit that Zep was a huge influence for them.. makes sense.

  • The High Priestess!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Definately the High Priestess!!!!! Ann IS Amazing!!!!! Such an Amazing Voice and Ever so Beautiful!!!!!!!!

  • Why is everyone on Ann Wilson like that? Yeah. She used to be hot. Whatever.

Nancy and Roger is where the rockin' is always coming from. They WERE the band. Even Leese and Fossen had more to do with Heart's sound than Ann. Ann is just a singer.... who sounds like every other 70's singer.

You know what, I don't know why I bother to leave comments about vocals anymore though. I seem to be the only asshole who doesn't find vocals to be important.

  • Nancy is where the rockin is always coming from? Sorry, acustic guitar, which you can't hear at all on Barracuda was a waste of time. "Ann is just a singer, like every other 70's singer.? No, Ann Wilson is NOT Juice Newton. That's why record companies wanted to sign Ann and not the fucking band. Steve Fossen? He makes Duff McKegan look like Geddy Lee.

Watching the demos (yes watching) from the 1985 sessions, Howard was the key. Nance can't play rocking solo to save her life.

  • It such a shame she got fat, tough seeing a pretty girl blow out like that, she's looks like she's gonna have a heart attack when she performs now, o well at least we've still got these old clips from the 70's go heart!

  • The Deity Ann & Nancy Wilson will forever be remembered.

    \m/ Rock on Girls.

  • This song is about doing heroin in the forest and probably some sex involved

  • Annie was into coke and pot, not H. Where did you get this info form? Because it's NOT true.

  • She didn't have to be a heroin user to write a song about the drug.

One of the lyrics in this song is "lovin' and drinkin' and dopin"... I think that shows the song at the very least, has something to do with the vices of the culture. She's also singin' something about being "easy" in the end of the next verse. I think that person may have posted that comment as a joking assumption, but the song very well might be about heroin use. It's literally in the lyrics.

  • Dopin was s term used to describe getting high on anything, unlike today where "dopin" is termed to be heroin. Ann smoked grass, hell I gave her a join 5 years ago. Annie did blow and what not. So heroin is the ONLY 'easy" drug.

It's people like YOU...who state shit as fact with no facts that piss me off. This song was about this, this song was about that.....and YOU have no fucking clue what it was about. Devil Delight is just about a woman..person partying and having a good time.

  • she's possesed. Love her!

  • Ann is truely the best female vocalist alive today. Just amazing!

  • SO true, to bad the band treats it's fans like shit.

  • you here alittle of "When The Levee Breaks" in this song...throght the drums

  • +1.

And I thought I was the only one to hear songs within songs.

  • yeah man!! you can hear Zeppelin in this song for sure... the drummer even has a similar setup like Bonham with the timpani drum and the gong behind him... that's awesome!!

  • So? If you listen to Led Zep you hear them plagerizing Robert Johnson and other old black blues players. LED ZEP WAS NOT ORIGINAL AND IS WAY....WAYYY OVERRATED.

  • Hey at least we can agree on that. Zeppelin is like the most over-rated band of all time. But Steve Fossen was a multi-instrumentalist and contributed a lot to the band. Howard Leese was awesome. Nancy co-wrote almost everything with Roger... Thus, the rocking.

I'd like to point out that you pretty much insulted me as if I had given you reason to, when I was simply saying the other guy couldve easily had that assumption. I understand being passionate but you really oughta simmer down.

  • Wow..I think both you and Miss Strutter need to get your heads out of your asses!!!! Zeppelin Over rated !!! hahaha your funny!!! Why dont you and Miss Strutter take your negativety elsewhere....someplace where it would fit in...certainly NOT where the Mighty Zep and Heart are concerned !!!! Your probably a Bruce Springsteen lover !!! hahahahahaha

  • I'm actually a death metal drummer.... so nah.

In my opinion they're one of the most over-rated musical groups ever. That's my opinion and nothing anyone could ever say will ever change that. You can take your insults and go kicks rocks.

  • @ThaDeeStylee It's not a matter of "rating" but popularity. Nobody said they are technically the top band, or some nonsense like that. Your rating matters for nothing.

They had some good songs, and they played them in distinct performances that even they had trouble performing consistently.

Their best work needed studio tweaks. In other words, they are not technically good at all. Just popular.

  • @chris2002Rocklin You probably never heard this song on the album. "MAGAZINE"

  • Mediocre artist borrow, great artists steal. Be it from nature of other things. Creativity and originality is relevant.

Name a band you can throw on any album, and listen front to back. Zep has no song I don't like.

Overrated? Maybe. Greatest band? For sure.

  • Who in Rock didnt get there stuff from the likes of Robert Johnson and all the other amazing bluesman!!!!!???? Thats where rock and the blues came from...it doesnt make Zeppelin a shit band because they worked off them...Led Zeppelin is NOT an over rated band !!!!!!!!!

They are Gods of Rock and will reign forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Im trying to find a heart song i heard at one of their concerts,

She was just screaming vocals at the end, it was fast, it was heavy, it was awesome, fire was everywhere, i just cant figure it out, its not crazy on you...

  • it might be mistral wind

  • OMG this is too coool !

  • the devil THE DEVIL THE DEVIL!!!!!!!! sing it sister!!!!

  • Badass TUNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nancy does a little jump at :25 :P

  • heart is great, no doubt. we're covering magic man. they are like led zep with females in the band. but i think the bass player might've been the inspiration for dr. weird from aqua teen hunger force...

  • Perfection! Great song - one of their very best. They need a high quality DVD of all this early stuff 75-78 only!

  • i like it just like this, slow paced

  • he got those sexy green eyes, clicking the trigger, no warning

  • you know i have to say the only thing i dont like in ll these clips from the same show is the bass players shirt lol i mean wow. But heart just flat out kicks ass

  • I love how Nancy and Roger are messing aroud with their guitars in the beginning XD

This has to be one of my favorite Heart songs of all time. It is amazing and this live version is supreme.

    Ann and Nancy= <3

  • Jesus lord, this should could be called "When The Levee Breaks part II" Good tune!

  • Wow, I was totally thinking the same thing when the song started! Awesome!!!

  • this song was indeed ahead of its time 5*

  • Michael Derosier was always the best drummer around in the 70s and 80s. Hated to see them replace him for their "Big Sound" later on...

  • Mikemania...I totally agree with you.

How can you not refuse "NANCY" as the lead singer for ZEP. Their the biggest fans I KNOW...BESIDES ME. LOL !!o)

  • Well, no... I mean get Ann to sing lead and get Nancy to play rhythm guitar and sing harmonies. Imagine how awesome that would be. It could be like a Jimmy Page & Black Crowes-type venture. They could do both Zeppelin and Heart songs!

  • they sound amazing. they put so many of today's bands to shame.

  • I know for a fact that this song won't be played at Sarah Palin's church back in Wasilla, Alaska.

  • This song makes me sad. It is so horribly sad that back in the 60's and 70's bands could release crazy, imaginative, creative songs like this and be revered--no longer. Yeah there are so stellar alt rock bands doing great stuff like this, but they get zero airplay.

  • I hear ya, man. This is a Heart song I never heard before, so glad I found this clip. Yes, nothing comes close in today's scene.

  • this is soooo awesome...one of my fav heart songs!!!!

  • You can tell it's a PBS station from the mid-70's because of the cheesy visual effects.

Besides that, I've gotta get the Magazine album.

  • Back then those cheezy effects were supposed to be "acid rock effects" or multi-colored layer effects that were supposed enhance the effect when one is "high" - hence the word

    "head music"!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Check out Pink Floyd live at KQED in San Francisco 1970. There's another good example of the TV station trying to put cheesy "acid rock" effects over a band playing.

  • In the days before digital crappery photos, that was called "Solarization", and it involved partially exposing shot film to daylight and it was an real intuitive crapshoot on the part of the photographer. Show some respect, loser!

  • Steve Fossen was soooo cool

  • I detect a hint of 'when the levee breaks' sounds good :-)

  • What a voice on her man!!! Ann is one of the best!! Song is very Zeppelin like.

  • i luv in the beginning how roger is jumpin around nd Nancy imitates him. too funny. i absolutely love Heart. ROCK ON WILSONS.

  • Led Zeppelin no Led Zeppelin It does not matter This guy Roger Fishers playing is really good. Sometimes its like he channels Jimmy Page. And I mean that in a good way. I wonder if they knew each other.

  • plus she can rock which is Fucking hot!

  • Dude, Nancy is hot with her hair over her face. ROCK ON Heart!!!

  • Yes...

  • anyone know where I can find this song (album)?

  • The albums called "Magazine". Has a couple other great songs on it as well including the title track.

  • This song is on the Magazine album .

  • sounds like when the levee breaks

  • Ann Wilson; Queen of rock!

  • Ann and Nancy Wilson, Queens of Rock!

  • Heart is Awesome, guitar/vocals are great, actually everything is great. Gotta say though, the bass player's outfit is just unpleasant.

  • Speaking from a girl's point of view I have to say you couldn't be more wrong! It's actually super hot! You just wish Ann were wearing it

  • Ok, I'll just have to take your word for it. And yeah, that would be awesome.

  • Haha... I'm the biggest Heart fan in the world but I agree with Chevy man! I think that was Steve Fossen etc., and that top he's wearing was just bizarre! :)

  • Oh this is so good..Never ever seen a live version of this before..Thanks for posting this...sweet..

  • the lyrics in that song is sorta weird but thats why i love it

  • When the Devil's delight breaks,Great tune !

  • Ann could sing Mary had a little lamb and I would think its the best damn song ever! But the guitar playing was really cool in this one.

  • Ahhhh Those young Wilson sisters Ann and Nancy........ So Beautiful...So talented....cant even explain how much I loved them and their music back then and still do and ALWAYS will !!! I miss those days !!! Heart is one of my favorite bands of all times !!!! They are near and dear to my heart and soul!!!!

  • Robert Plant gave them the nickname"little Led Zeppellin"

  • oh Robert wishes he coulda sung like that! lol

  • I hear Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and Jason Bonham want to continue on without Plant. They should get Ann and Nancy! That would fucking rule!

  • you r so effing right, dude!!! If page Jones, and Bonham had business sense, they would sign on those two women rockers who kick ass!!!!!!

  • Mistral wind is fantasic - awesome song the whole album is well you all that stuff great & all that

  • Isn't Mistral Wind from D&D? Isn't this song from Magazine, which was recorded in '76. Finished and released from '78? I should know cause my mom had actual record of Magazine

  • 's

Ahhh those great days in the early

  • Is any of this early stuff available on dvd ?

  • Great video but that shirt the bassist is wearing makes me wanna gouge my eyes out!!!

  • yes there is very much LED ZEPPELIN influence in the music of Heart, but that's ok, they are still great musicians. Ann and Nancy admit in most of there interviews that Zeppelin was the inspiring band to there music. i've also read that barracuda was actully inspired by

"achillies last stand". Mistrial Wind is an awesome song that needs 2 be shown on utube. Heart is awesome!!!!

  • I think it's safe to say that they listened to "When The Levee Breaks" from Led Zep IV

    ***

    Nice call...

  • I forgot how awesome this song. Well I always knew it was awesome but when you haven't heard it in a while. Wow. Love the change of moods with the guitars. One second they're hard rock and the next, relaxing. And the harmonizing guitars...how I love Heart...

  • Man.....talk about Led Zeppelin influence.....it's here is spades !! I think it's safe to say that they listened to "When The Levee Breaks" from Led Zep IV. Very progressive.....COOL song !!

  • Totaly agree on the Zep influences. Baraccuda takes alot from Immigrant Song and I think Babe Le Stange has a kind of Kashmir sound in the verses.

On a recent CD Heart did a great cover of Stairway to Heaven, fantastic band.

  • I think you can purchase "Magazine" via Heart's official website.

  • I got it for $8 at FYE...check there

  • Love this song..I used to have Magazine on cassette...Can't find it now a days

  • The riff is almost as sexy as the sisters.

  • I totally agree. That riff just goes from my ears on down. Ann's voice helps it along. I love this song.

  • wow...

  • Dang! Ann is in top form!!!!

  • Nice! Do you have the live version of Without You by any chance?

  • Thanks for posting....what a treat!

  • Wicked!!!!

  • Heh heh I logged on today and found this!!! Thanx, AgingGaijin! This proves once and for all who is the greatest lead guitarist - Roger! Finally some videos which spotlight Roger's talent, besides the others in the band. Roger and Nancy an item, Ann and Mike (Roger's producer brother), but the musical marriage is Ann's voice and Roger's guitar . . . there will never be another one like it!

    Louise

  • They were quite the pair for the ears eh? !!! :)

  • Thanks aginggaijin!
