Wow, u are tall. Do your knees touch the ground when fully extended? I have one of those bars and I'm trying a 6 week program to 20 pull-ups. I weight 190, 5', 11", but I can't do a complete pull-up yet. I am doing negatives first.
@CanadaHOCKEY2100 I'm not scooby but yes you can use lat pull down machine if you have that available, it's the exact same thing as pullups (if you do it with right form) but you can set the weight right for you so it's actually better than pullups.

@IxSPAWNxKILL Well thats accidental when you said cheat i thought you meant your tempted to cheat because you know your arms will rest on the door frame.Try to move your elbows to a angle where they arent resting.i have one of these,i have long arms and i dont have trouble.
If you live in Australia like me Big-W has that same pull/chin up bar for only ten bucks, ive had mine for about 3-4 months now and it isnt showing any sings of breaking

What do I do, if i can't finish my reps with the "cheating" method? Is it even worth it if I go down too quick, since my arms can't hold my weight? I fear to injure myself this way, but I don't want to skip this excercise entirely for the day :-(
@GeOhDoppelT as long as your working the muscles mate, still do it, if you cant lower yourself, trying supporting yourself with your legs on a chair a bit, it will still work your muscles :)
Not only do these pullup-bars not fit into anydoorway of my house, the doorways are too weak anyway, because it's a prefabricated house.
But I finally figured out a way to do pullups at home: I've attached my white belt (it's very tear-sesistant) to the last step of the stairs, after putting it through a ring. And then I could attach my pull-up bar to that via carabiner. I'm confident it can carry me.
so if i do 8 pullups, i should gain 18 pounds of muscle. but just in case i will check about 13 of your videos that tell about you cant gain muscle fast
Hey scoobster, I've found lately that my left lat is way smaller than my right, any quick fix for this so I can do pullups equally on both arms, not the other do more weight
@lovingmontasoccer Idk! When I do pullups it feels like my right lat is doing so much more work. It feels tighter. But it might be so. and yea the lat is the muscle located right below your shoulder blade; almost where the kidneys are
@cooliosurfer1 dont worry about it thats all i have to say if you dont trust it talk with an expert and its probably an illusion just excercise this form i feel this does work great scooby did take care for me to heal my joints i only know people here in town who do destroy their own body with wrong forms of excercise only my box trainer is using proper forsm and his pupils people in the gym here are real noobs :D

Using ( quality) resistance bands is a good way to build yourself up towards doing pull ups, it is substitute.

I don't like this for pullups for one reason. If your try to keep your elbows out you can rest them on the door frame and cheat.

I do those but in variations.First i do them wide grip and then I quickly switch to close grip.I do them 1 of each for a total of 120 reps.6 sets.

i have a problem.i have been exercising for some time and than i stoped.now i started agin.i can do more than 10 good slow push-ups but only 1 pullup.since i wasnt doing pull-ups when i used to exercise.should i do intermidiate workouts.or uper intermidiate for evrything exept lats?i apriciate evry responce.(i know i messed up my sealf)

Gutentag scooby. If i may ask what is your opinion about bodyweight workouts? Im trying to aim for a slim spartacus figure :) Also i have to say great video's and website! They are helping me allot for doing an excercise correct!
