I have to agree. This is THE best quality handheld footage I've ever seen and the audio is amazing. I've never seen Trower live, but, I know the only way to get a tone like that is to crank it up till the tubes start to sizzle and that always makes for a droned out, overloaded recording. Thanks for doin' him justice.
Haven't seen a picure of Trower in 20 plus years but I'm relatively sure this is his Dad playing. Regardless , as good as ever. Classic album, classic player, way underrated.
this is blue from outer space.don't think Mr. Trower need to smoke or snorting any thing to get this kind of blue.I like it a lot other people might just pass out listenning to this one
Nice job on the footage, looking to see if you got an angle on Confessin midnight. There are some Confessin midnight from this fillmore show and would love to see yours. The confessin midnight is very intense from this night. This bridge of sighs is the 2nd video I am watching from this march 3rd show and it is great!
@rikvee Thanks for the compliment, rikvee! Panasonic DMC-ZS3 (few years old now) with stereo mics, very resistant to percussion (aside from recent Peter Murphy vids, I was ON the bass monitor cabinet). Hold cam just below your shoulder at your chest but still keeping screen visible, and zoom into the target, watch recording and tweak as needed to compensate for obstacles and target movement. Be prepared to move if fans begin to block your path, and do so smoothly so it won't show up in vid. :)
I am so blissed out now after listening to this, I caught RTB twice last year, similar line up (UK). It's a great lineup and work so well together. But Robin is almost transcendental in his delivery.... Thanks so much for sharing this epic track. I still love it every time I hear it. ummm MORE! ?
@zoso0987 The screaming at the end was wierd some folks very toasted! I first saw him at Winterland in 1974 & many times since. His albums of the last 10 years, I don't know well. In recent years, he always plays a lot of his classic material at live shows. At the Fillmore, He did a few songs (presumably) from his new album that I didn't recognize either. His website has a couple of cuts from it "The Playful Heart". You may want to check out.
@nabisco1959 Dude, what was up with the lady screaming.. you can hear her toward the end. It was really weird.. I thought it was somehow a party of the music, because she seemed to be screaming in key..
@zoso0987 This gal was about 4 rows back from me (I was 2 persons away from stage), and she wailed like that several times in different songs. When I looked back, you could easily tell who was 'with her' as they were amused, versus those around her that were NOT! :)
@nabisco1959 Also, do you know the names of the other two really slow songs he played? I have been trying to figure it out, but Robin has SO much music out there its hard to figure out..
@hokieokie1 Updated setlist.fm, but here too: Confessing Midnight Lady Love Somebody Calling For Earth Below Twice Removed Distant Places Day of the Eagle Bridge of Sighs Shame the Devil The Turning Too Rolling Stoned Little Bit of Sympathy Rise Up Like The Sun Not Inside - Outside

one of the best quality handheld-from-the-audience videos I have ever seen, what camera did you use, any tricks to keep the sound from overloading?
