BPU++ Supra vs. Mustang GT w/Vortech Supercharger

Nope, turbos were still in great shape when they were pulled for my single turbo conversion. Plus was running 50/50 110 and 92 so no knock.

if you do some basic math youll find the supra is running much more boost than a vortech can provide and should win every time.

6 cylinders * 19psi = 114

8 cylinders * 9psi = 72

quite simply, the supra has much more air being shoved into it, and likely has the injectors to match such a fuel hungry motor.

now if they were running equal boost, and the mustang had the same mods the supra would get shat on

the mustang gets on it, but lets off and the supra goes by. idk who would have won in a real race, but 5 secs doesnt equal a race. we dont know what the trans were in each car, gearing, etc. a vortech pushes max 9 psi in a setup like that. id bet with a FAIR takeoff at exact same time, this would be a dead even race.

Hell, the first week I had my Supra I got beat by an SRT-4. Did I go around all butt hurt about it? No. The race didn't need to start with three honks because he was being given the hit. When he got on it, I got on it. If he got out of it because I was winning, that's his problem, not mine.

I'm not taking sides or anything, but we're comparing 2 different kinds of cars. Mustangs can't take advantage of its torque on the highway, which is why most mustangs stay at the drag strip where they can use the torque from a dig. Supras are useless until it goes through a couple gears and runs on full psi, which is why they normally stay on the highway. Just sayin...

You two are killing me. First of all the 'stang was far from stock. So I fail to see how the race was... "unfair". Also, let's clear up a few things, base boost on a stock Supra is 12 psi, not 9. My car put down 297whp completely stock. On the day of the video it put down about 410whp. To get there I ran a 50/50 mix of 110 and 92, 19psi, and had a custom fuel map through a S-AFC2. The race gas in and of itself doesn't add any horsepower, it is simply a precaution against detonation.

Lol okay dude. you obviously know nothing about cars. Race fuel allows him to push the timing even further, therefore more than making up for the extra two pistons at 19psi on a turbo. The Supra has a better set-up all the way around.

Turbo>Supercharger

Race fuel>Pump gas

19psi>like 9 psi

The ONLY difference is two extra pistons, but hell I've seen stock 4 bangers beat stock V6's and V8's. It's all about tuning. Not the motor size.

I'm not, but also look at the Boss 302's and the T-Bird, which was the first production car with a turbo in the states. Ford has made way more cars than Toyota, and yes the mustangs after the 80's pretty much sucked as until the Cobra R, but they were always bullet-proof. Maybe they didn't pump out as much horsepower as the camaro did, but it would stand up longer. Tell why you see more mustang drag cars than any other car. Not bashing toyota, but both toyota and ford have their bonuses.
