We don't always agree around the world as to what a hit is. In the UK, Winning Lines was quite loved as a lottery show. In the US, it got ten weeks. Overall, I have grown to love the US BTB. and am very greatful for all the cool postings on YT such as this.

Thx! , I used to watch this as a kid growing up in France , the channel it was shown in doesn't even exist anymore (Went off the air in 92) .

Reminds me of stuff I used to watch in hotel rooms when I vacationed in France in the '80s. I was always so mesmerized by the music that I wanted to pack up these shows in my luggage and take them back to the US with me! ;)

It's interesting in my opinion how the low-rated Joe Farago/Gene Rayburn BtB would sell outside the USA... I found the Q&A round's format to be incredibly weak, and the bonus round was just campy.

Eh, you learn something new everyday. And the theme music to this version is kinda nice, too.

Well I preferred the stunt round to the master puzzle. Keep in mind that Catch Phrase, which aired at the same time in the US and had an even shorter run, was a big hit in the UK.

I'm afraid to admit it, but the 1st bonus format was cool, though I (like some people) do prefer the 2nd format.

Actually I prefer the first format. The puzzle round had an element of strategy missing from the second format (should you secure a win by solving the puzzle now or hold out for more seconds?) and the campiness of the bonus round is what made it interesting.

I'm not too sure as to which technology I need, however I would appreciate it if you had more to discuss than uploading videos. I was hoping more people would take notice that I had found video footage of a foreign version of a game show I particularly enjoy.

It requires certain technology that connects your TV to your computer. I don't have it yet, and I'm not out to buy any right now.

I don't know. I only know of the French and US versions. It would have been nice if this show had a UK version. Did you notice that this version also has a "Swamp of Doom"?

That was the setting for some of the stunts on the US version. After the stunt was finished a boulder would roll down from the top of the mountain and the contestant would have to grab the card and head back to their podium as soon as possible. You can see the US version of Break the Bank on this site as well.
