  • Hi, many thanks for your interest and question, building where obtained off Ebay, some from japan, others are hornby and also some are metcalfe cardboard kits(stations) which I assembled and also wired with cold running led's

  • That Music Is Bloody Annoying!!

  • Cool, compact layout! Looks like you've done a really good job making it work, too! Cheers!

  • i was told 2 leave a comment

  • @RokusDragon Hi again, I'm in the dark as you have not put any pictures of you layout on youtube so I cannot realy see how your yard looks like. If you can upload some pictures or a video I may be able to help you sort the problem, kind regards Ray.

  • Actualy its ETC.By the way nice layout.

  • oh so it is kato. I have a problem with kato . when ever my engines pull into a yard my engines just stop short.almost like it cuts the locomotives power.

  • @RokusDragon Hi there, sorry to learn about your problem, as you loco's appear to run ok on the rest of you track layout, it seems likely there is a fault with you wiring or perhaps points. Are you wired for dc or dcc operation? regards Ray.

  • Thats kato your using right please respond.

  • @RokusDragon Hi, yes you correct Kato track including points operated by kato switches, also some kato locomotives.

  • fantastic layout. nicely proportioned.

  • Hi EWS37109, many thanks for you interest and comment, I see you have made quite an interesting n gauge layout which is very good. Perhaps you will post updates on your OO gauge layout project as it makes progress, nice to see a younger modeler with interest in a fantastic hobby, regards Ray.

  • Very nice, but maybe to many curves......i know, the place is missing, greets from Germany

  • Hi, many thanks for your interest and comment, as the board size is only 52inches by 41inches and I wanted two ovals linked and all of the board used and maximised for track and buildings including three stations and sidings and also a high street, using curves is the only way to achieve this effect. Kind regards Ray.

  • @walsalluk: the place You have, is good used. For me it is not easy, cause i drive H0 Many Greetings from Germany

  • Sorry for the double post, didnt think it posted. I was on the fence for a while debating N or HO, with fading sight & size of some of the parts/equipment, HO won out :)

  • No problem about posts, even with ON30 scale when fitting sound decoders the screws are still small

  • Love the variety of buildings with what looks like finished interiors & the wonderfull lighting. Very nicely done Ray, thanks for sharing this great video ;)

  • Hi, many thanks for your interest and comments. Most of the buildings I fitted in cold running 12v dc leds from a regulated transformer. The fitting entailed drilling carefully and feeding in a sort of wire loom which I made and tried to hide the wires, it was a worthwhile project that took some time to complete. Sadly now my eyesight not so good so I have moved up through N to 00 gauge and on to on30 gauge, and have a few projects still being worked on.

  • Ray - Very nicely done. I'm starting on my second layout (the first was a 2' x 4' apartment size layout) this one is 4' x 8' so quite an upgrade. I have the track laid and a total of 13 switches and 12 separate powered sections with two cabs. Like your cityscape, would like to use it for as a basis for my layout.

  • Hi, many thanks for comment, You upgrade sounds interesting size wise, upload some pictures as you make progress. Feel free to use any ideas from watching my layout video.

  • Thanks for you comment and interest, much appreciated

  • The city area looks nice. Some of those structures look like Kato models if I might be correct? Anyway, those buildings look excellent how they are setup.

  • @tarmac2001 hi, many thanks for your interest and kind comment. Yes , you are correct some of the building are Kato and in most building have put cold running 12v dc leg,s to give illumination.

  • hey i have a 00 gauge atm want to get a n gauge and was wonderring how much all of this cost?

  • Hi there, many thanks for your interest. As I built this over some time, bit by bit and many many hours I cannot put a cost to it. I got all items off ebay from U.S.A and Japan and UK to name a few countries. I started with the track first then added items as I went along. Engines where from memorey about £40-£50 each and buildings from as little as £5 an item. Kato track various prices as I bought boxed kits and points seperately, hope this helps, kind regards Ray.

  • Nice little layout you have there

  • Hey thanks for sharing. How big is your layout?

  • @outofideas101 Hi there many thanks for your interest and comment, layout is small really, 52inches by 41 inches approximately, regards Ray.

  • nice im starting to make my own n guage set from scratch and i hope mine will look a bit like yours

  • I was surprised to see those DB-umbauwagens on your tracks.

But they did migrate in real life too, three of them are just 8 km from my home at the dutch coast. With a railferry and some imagination it could be possible...

  • Nice layout and video!

  • Awesome

  • nice steam. Looks very nice and steam always looks good.

  • where can i buy DCC controlers?

  • I get all my stuff of Ebay site, suggest you google dcc controllers as there are many makes and also cv programing systems

  • looks great, currently flying rc heli's and jets but have always wanted an n gauge layout, yours is ace is it dcc? thanks for sharing.

  • hi, thanks for your comment and interest, not dcc, just normal old fashioned dc. My new project in on30 gauge is dcc. Many thanks, kind regards, Ray.

  • how long did it take to build?

  • hi, it took about 9 months on and off, also delayed when money got short, many thanks for looking.

  • hi, many thanks for your comments, yes thay are Kato and Tomix buildings, some where obtained from japan via Ebay, others from Ebay UK.

  • i honestly like it. ive got n gauge and ho traind but no layout. its easy to buy stuff. Trains can be an addiction

  • Very nice!!!

  • ya looking at your layout gives me a boost of confidence because if you can do it on a 4 foot by 3 foot board with that much stuff I will have no problem doing it on my 5 foot by 4 foot board. thank you :)
