  • Oh... a tip for making coffee in an RV ... get a French Press coffee maker! You just boil water on the propane stove and dump it in... makes the best coffee anyway. No need to crank the generator!

  • God ... I can't stand running my generator!!! It's Onan and shakes the crap out of the RV and it's NOISY as hell! My goal is 12 volt EVERYTHING. Installed a 12 volt LCD TV recently and dumped the old 110 volt monster that was installed. I ONLY need the generator to charge the 12 volt batteries or run the microwave, period.

  • Great video! Thanks for all the information!

  • Great tips! Good job Outskirters!

  • We have a 50 amp system on our camper. You would not believe how many places said on the phone they had a 50 amp hookups. Lo and behold we pull up and all the hookups are 30 amp!!! Always good to have an adapter piece that converts the plug to fit your 50 to a 30. One day...you WILL need it!

  • Of course if you're plugged into a RV campground ... run anything you want for as long as you want ... even get an electric space heater :p

  • For heat... use a portable catalytic space heater using tiny propane bottles. The furnace on RV's are propane hogs!!! Use only to heat a very cold RV until you can get the portable heater up and running.

  • My idea and goal is 100% 12 volts DC everything! TV ... microwave, cell phones and computers... even satellite TV. Try to limit 110 volts. The only thing I need to run my generator for is to charge the 12 volt batteries ; ) The fridge runs on propane most of the time though. I want to be in places with no need for A/C ... that's the goal!
