Geneon, Bandai and you guys (FUNimation) make the best dubs for anime out there, and I'm so glad you guys are distributing the Geneon dubbed shows.

This, along with Trigun, Fate/Stay Night, GUNxSWORD, Ergo Proxy, and Tales of Phantasia is among the best of Geneon's series.

As to your other comment, that makes it almost worse because they are not willing to put forth any extra effort for a masterpiece. As for as blue-ray, even if it is not an immense quality upgrade the medium (blu-ray) is one that it should be available on.

I am not a huge fan of funimation tbh, they are only out to make a buck from what I seen these past years and their licensing greed, which is cool but sucks for me the fan.

I own the Geneon original Box Set :D (Vol 1-7, Ep. 1-26) made in a red hard cardboard with some cool artworks all around, so sad about them really :( But i supported you guys!

Will this FUNimation version have Japanese audio like the Geneon by the way? the English character voices in this anime were very nicely done, but the japanese audio its even more kickass.

All Funimation DVDs have both English and Japanese audio, the only English-only DVDs they've done has been for Shin-Chan. So yeah, Japanese will be included here.

Actually this is still Geneon's title but FUNi will be distributing it as part of their deal from last year. The only difference with the two sets is that the new one is a thinpak with a different box (the box art's at Amazon if you're curious).

It looks like every other sword anime out there, actually looks worse. The obscure "name drops" made me want to throw up. Do you need someone to show you how to do an exciting DVD trailer? Come on, do the series Justice, this is slightly better than Bebop and Trigun but along the same lines make a good trailer and release it on Blu-Ray

The show was not animated in HD so having it upscaled on Blu-Ray isn't going to make it look much better. Also, this trailer is old as I recall seeing it as a trailer for the original Geneon releases. I don't think that there's anything wrong with it gut you are entitled to your opinion.

I already have the Geneon singles, but this is definitely a show that should be on store shelves, another wonderful gem from Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop's director). As for other Geneon rescues as mentioned, I already have Paranoia Agent, but Serial Experiments Lain, Trigun, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Tenjho Tenge would be great rescues for Funi to do.

whaaa? Adultswim doesn't license shows, it merely broadcasts them, since it's technically part of Cartoonnetwork.

And anyway in 2007 Geneon, which licensed Samurai Champloo among other animes, dropped out of the American market. I think they did it because of lack of DVD sales or something.

Anyway a year later, Funimation managed to recover most of those titles including this one. Didn't you know about this though? There was this "New-show-a-go-go" segment on the webste a few months ago.
