Could anyone possibly tell me where I can get the complete Hebrew lyrics to this song? I do not care if it is in Hebrew or the English transliteration, I would just like to be able to have the Hebrew lyrics for learning purposes. Thank you :-)
i remember when i was young ... i think when i was 4 years old, and i see the movie in the cinema in israel with my dad. and since this day im watching Prince of Egypt every pesach (=passover).
at the first i watched it in hebrew but before 3 years i watched the english version and i decided that the hebrew version is better.
Oh gosh... this made me cry. Especially when they started singing Mi Chamocha because we still sing that in synagogue... The meaning of it never really hit me before. Wow.
@challahbackgirl I love that part of the song. No matter what language it's sung in, that part is always Hebrew, and it always sounds so joyful and lovely~
@gigglegirly98 what? first off, the song, as well as the whole movie were made in ENGLISH. second, the song can't translate exactly the same in every version in different languages. heck, the lyrics translated probably are never exactly the same for each laguage.
@khaza1wolfgurl These are two quite different things: Hebrews are an ethnic group, of semitic descent, spread around the world after the razing of the Second Temple of Shlomo by roman legions. Jews are those that follow hebrews' belief (mainly expressed in our holy books). Of course you can become a jew if it is your real will. We're called People of God because we have been the first people to worship a only Lord and recieve His laws, but we don't believe that God makes "race" distinction.
I am so much proud to be a jew... We are the true people of God, and for us He does marvels... The God of Israel has made us survive all persecutions and horrours of history: Where are the egyptians, the babylonians, the romans, the franks, the tsarist russians and the nazis now? Israel survived by God's promise... And it will stay...
Hi, I'm from mexico, thanks for this video, for providing the lyrics in Hebrew and its translation, I'll use this song in a very important moment in my life and always wanted to know it meant "Ashira" and the rest of the choir, is my favorite part, the song in Hebrew sounds much more beautiful
Very Beautiful song that gives an Idea of what the God of Israel did for them at one time it would of been appropriate if they would of used His name instead of Adonay or Elohim His name is what makes him Different from the Other gods. Adonay Yahweh elohim
I am a Christian and I wonder if any of you might recommend a Hebrew course book or learning system? Rosetta Stone??? Any others? Do Jewish cultural centers mind if non-Jews join in their language courses?
Just a note, if you are Christian who is interested in learning --BIBLICAL-- Hebrew, Rosetta Stone is --NOT-- the way to go. If you want to learn modern colloquial Hebrew, then that option might be okay.
I'm not Jewish...but I was able to study with Orthodox Rabbis when they were teaching the Jewish community at their synagogue. -- Just go to your local JCC and find out whats going on in your local Jewish community. Language classes are usually held pretty often.
whether the translation is 100% or not, i got tears in my eyes: this IS israels history and i am happy that finally they have been honoured by presenting THEIR history in their language. thank you. just a ruth once said: your people will be my people and your God will be my God. and this is my prayer: remember israel your God is One and besides Him there is NO god! Seek and you will find Him.
Thanks, but as an Israeli who speaks perfectly 4 different languages, English included, I can honestly say that the video is miserably lacking- both literally and grammatically.
@ItzikV hola podrias ecribir en hebreo lo que canta cuando dicen ashira o algo asi? y si no fuera mucha molestia explicarme como seria mas correcto gramaticalmente. gracias ojala no sea mucha molestia

Being Jewish, she shared the suffering of our ancestors. It really pulls on the heartstrings. For those of you who live in the U.S., be grateful for your freedom. I hope that the world does not see more suffering like this.

whobyfire1967 2 months ago
interesting remark: 2:47 ("ashira le'adonay ki gao ga'ah")
can be translated as "i'll sing to god, because he rose",
or "i'll sing to god, for he is exalted"
OR can figuratively be translated to "i'll sing to god, for he created the (tide) wave".
