can be translated as "i'll sing to god, because he rose",

or "i'll sing to god, for he is exalted"

OR can figuratively be translated to "i'll sing to god, for he created the (tide) wave".

i remember when i was young ... i think when i was 4 years old, and i see the movie in the cinema in israel with my dad. and since this day im watching Prince of Egypt every pesach (=passover).

at the first i watched it in hebrew but before 3 years i watched the english version and i decided that the hebrew version is better.

@gigglegirly98 what? first off, the song, as well as the whole movie were made in ENGLISH. second, the song can't translate exactly the same in every version in different languages. heck, the lyrics translated probably are never exactly the same for each laguage.

@khaza1wolfgurl These are two quite different things: Hebrews are an ethnic group, of semitic descent, spread around the world after the razing of the Second Temple of Shlomo by roman legions. Jews are those that follow hebrews' belief (mainly expressed in our holy books). Of course you can become a jew if it is your real will. We're called People of God because we have been the first people to worship a only Lord and recieve His laws, but we don't believe that God makes "race" distinction.

Just a note, if you are Christian who is interested in learning --BIBLICAL-- Hebrew, Rosetta Stone is --NOT-- the way to go. If you want to learn modern colloquial Hebrew, then that option might be okay.

I'm not Jewish...but I was able to study with Orthodox Rabbis when they were teaching the Jewish community at their synagogue. -- Just go to your local JCC and find out whats going on in your local Jewish community. Language classes are usually held pretty often.
