First time listening through the entire first movement and I have to say Mozart does not let you down. A first rate masterpiece infusing so much of his late contrapuntal style. And it's the same hall where Mozart conducted Don Giovanni. Wish I had been there.
This is the Prague's Tyl Theatre where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart conducted the premiere performance of "Don Giovanni" on October 29, 1787. (W tym praskim teatrze w 1787 roku W.A. Mozart osobiście przygotowywał premierę opery "Don Giovanni" i wystąpił w roli dyrygenta.)
Indeed it is, and it has been beautifully preserved. It gave me the shivers just to know that Mozart had worked in the very theatre I visited. (I saw "The Magic Flute"). His Prague Symphony I rate among his very best, and this performance is one of depth and feeling.
SOUNDS REVOLUTIONARY like beethoven sort of sounds like his symphny no 4
