Can you please tell me the width of the U4 closed , and the width of the handle only ? and if is in your opinion suitable for a (larger) keychain..Thank you !
No wonder it is the first review. They only released 18 of the PRK (to the public) in the first batch. You can tell because they came with the F1 sheath.
Another thing to add, the Tanto styled blades are very popular here in the U.S. as far as the Marines and the rest of the military go. I did not bring a tanto blade with me when I shipped out, but several friends of mine did. The tactical application of that tip far outweighs its utility applicatons IMO
@Aqualiteking why?! SPGS is harder than cobalt.... tbh new and shiny isn't necessarily better. the direction Fallkniven seems to be going in the future is to have SGPS and CoS instead of VG10 (or as an upgrade) but so little is published about this Cos. I can't find it in any nomenclature or find it's composition in any way. Also don't know what the lamination steel is on that.... Still should be interesting for sure.
@Thecarotidpulse Sure SPGS is harder than the colbalt steel. But it is also much more expensive than the cobalt steel and impossible to find here in NZ. In NZ a Fallkniven F1 costs $230, one in SPGS might cost 2-3times more.
I'm in the States on a conference, just dropping in a quick note: did you say Chisel ground?
OK so what I mean (to be very clear and omit any discrepancies that may be due to terminology) there is an edge bevel and a secondary bevel that leads to the edge. is this secondary bevel present on both sides of the knife?
Is the knife flat (or saber) ground on both sides, or is it chisel ground aka the reverse side of the knife is completely flat?
My poor terminology there!, its not a chisel grind (ie completely flat on one side) its actually a sabre grind. I think I meant to say it looks chisel like, probably due to the blade surface profile.
beautyful knives.
could you please tell for what are you using the PRK / when are you carrying it?
thanks

In fact there's a SPGS and a 3G version of the U4.
WhiteYatsum 2 months ago
U4 = 3g = SPGS + VG2 & U2 = SPGS = SPGS + VG-10)

U2 and U4 aren't the same steel :3

Good review. Thanks.
And as a fun fact: the "k" in "Fällkniven" is not silent. Try saying "Fael-kneyven" 2 syllables.

Can anyone tell me the torx size for the U4? I'm planning on getting a Benchmade Blue Box torx kit with sizes T6, T8, and T10... will those work?

@torpilo
hi, the width closed is 2.3cm at the widest point and the handle only is about 1.9cm. Yes, would be good for a larger keychain. Great little knife!

Excellent review of the PRK.
i believe this is the first review on utube and it does not disappoint.
i am still on the fence about getting the PRK or an Emerson knife.

I hope the F1 comes out in that Cobalt steel

@Aqualiteking
Fallkniven are bringing out the F1 in 3G in Feburary. The last lot sold out pretty quick, but that made a superb knife.
workwearcanadacom 1 year ago
@workwearcanadacom Fallkniven needs to keep the F1 in 3G. I'm hoping that will stay permanent.
Thecarotidpulse 1 year ago
@Thecarotidpulse they are better keeping both versions - the 3g version is expensive and not within everyones budget
