Shit the sound won't work on Windows 7, but the game works on DOSBOX! I had to play the game without sound. Sucks because Jeff van Dyck's music was kickass.
I LOVE the sound in this game. This is the year before they started focusing on a play-by-play announcer, and they really went for an "in the seats" vibe on the sound effects. They really nailed it too, listen to the way the crowd reacts and the crystal clear sounds on the ice.
I used to play this game from the broadcast view for a more authentic feel. I love this game! I still think it has the best feel of any hockey game to ever come out.
Wow! THanks. This is the only NHL game of that series that I haven't seen/played. Of course, I played NHL96 for the SNES, but not for the PC. These graphics are very good, I think. It's like a 3D rendering of NHL 95 :P
After 12 years someome might help me with this question: I've always wanted to know the name of one of the songs they play during pause before the faceoffs. The best way I can describe it, is you hear voices singing "OOOOOOO OH.......OOOOOOO OH OH"! I hope thats enough of a clue that someone might know!
I know someone answered that it was 2 Unlimited - Get Ready for This, but I really think it's Zombie Nation [and I think the song is called OHOHOH or something, you can google it].
damn, this game kicked ass. back in the day as far as hockey sims went this was the best... two buttons: shoot and pass, shoot and pass. and speed burst without the puck.. ah yes good times
the difference in graphics between nhl 95 and nhl 96 is CRAZY! i bet there will never be a bigger jump in graphics from when the 4th generation (SNES GENESIS) turned into the 5th (PS,64)
97 is twice as good as this. but i couldnt agree with you more about snes to 64- huge difference. i can wait to see how good games get. i mean xbox to 360 was alright but it just wasnt as crazy as i thought it would be
Remember those good old days when Selanne was still playing... what?!

Yes they were. Starting with the '93 season, Hartford switched their road uniforms from green to blue.

Hahaha! You suck dude. Allthought it truly is really hard to score on this, fight are great!

I hated how the game was too slow paced and that players had too much momentum when turning. Also it was ridiculously hard to score.
