2) Never read a human anatomy book, because anime characters are supposed to look as far from accurately human as possible.

3) Copy the lazy drawing style that Japan uses in their cheap, garbage cartoons.

4) Make the eyes gigantic for absolutely no reason, and make all emotional expressions a combination of two lines and a giant pink mouth.

5) Profit.

ur link does not work, and how do realistic portraits take more creativity? after all in the manga/anime style you are constantly creating what is not actually there, while realistic artists usually use a picture, or a model to go off of. to be art it doesn't matter how much talent is needed, if it was then every art class in public schools should fail all their students, after all they never create any art which is what the assignments require.

It doesnt matter man (or Girl?) if you have an idea that you think is great and you really want it made, i recommend that you make a couple of rought sketches of it first and then go about it like Mark does in his video's. Try, Experiment, Fail, REDO and eventually, youll have your masterpiece. Hope this inspired you.

it actually doesnt matter. He says what he is doing, and you can only do it once you know what he is going for, so tis actually better when you dont see it. Its just rough guidelines to get a general idea. Keep in mind that this is not a line by line instructtion :)

Yeah, most of the facial features ( eyes, nose, mouth, hair) are the distinguishing points of manga.

I think cartoon characters have a better look to them. When they're drawn, they usually have a thick dark outline and that "pops" the character off the page and lets you notice the limits of their body.
