The one in the video is Me-262-V3 model. it was hard to land and take off on V3 model so theyve improved and changed gear mounting system and other things.
I remember a docu from Michael Moore with an American woman, she did run up the american flag every morning and was so proud that 2 of their sons will go to the army... both later died in iraq, and then she wasn't a soo proud American anymore, it was the other way around, she demonstrated in front of the white house. People like war as long as they read about it, or see it in TV. Iraq/Afghanistan leaves more than a million US-soldiers that has been there and many of them got psychical problems.
But on the other side, even with an strong Luftwaffe and many 88cm Flak-Guns the Allies would have done their area bombing of whole german cities (that in my mind was a war crime too, on both sides) and I think without Hitler, the (Waffen)-SS, Gestapo etc. the capitulation would be made like in the first world war, at the moment when the general staff knows that the war can't be won anymore. I mean really much Germans were against war after they felt what war is, same like in the USA today.
I'm got polish roots, but I've been born in Germany, and yes without Hitler the German Military would be much more effective, I mean if I would be in a war I would stop IMMEDIATELY every building thats not necessary, but there was a lot building work in berlins government district until 1941 or early 1942 until Speer got the Minister. Speer got this position in early 1942, would he had that position from 1939 the output would be far better also, and the stupid decision to use 262 as an bomber...
@curevic Hitler made so many bumbling mistakes...without him running "THE Wolf's Lair", the allies wouldn't have had a hope in hell. He botched so many decisions. Good grief he was a corporeal in WWI-what the hell did he know about battlefield strategy or tactics? I think he went against most of his upper command just to show him who was "the real boss". If he wold have listened to the senior command, the allies just may have lost the war.
It was close the way it went early on to begin with.
There is a tension and fear with classical music that you don't get with gutter rap, crap.
If only the Nazi would have put their power to doing productive things instead of trying to eliminate most of Europe...we'd have a very different place by now.
@UserNamei5 The P51's would wait for them to take off, or land then jump them. Their acceleration was extremely slow. Plus the bombing champagne made the Luftwaffe extinct, by pound their bases. They were hiding their aircraft in the forest, and using public roads for air strips. You can boast all you want about Nazi superiority, but in the end they lost.
@UserNamei5 That's bullshit. Me262s shot down around 500 aircrafts while sacrificing their 100 Me262s. No plane is ever unshootable during the WW2. The Me262 was the first jet-powered fighter jet. The others were merely propeller fighters. It was the only fastest jet who could take off and land during the WW2 era. Problem was they're produced in low numbers so they didn't have the advantage of standing up against their enemies almost-unlimited planes.
@SuperDave619 Not so, the British had the Glosster Meteor. However, they kept it in England to combat the buzz bomb. The Italians were working on their version of a jet, about the same time as the other two. However, it used a piston engine to turn the turbines.
@Auggie56 Actually, the Me262's first prototype flight's was in May 1943 while Glosster Meteor was in June 1943 and it crashed after taking off while the Me262 landed safely. So the record stands, the first jet combat fighter is Me262. Guinness World of Records even endorsed this.
@UserNamei5 They had one major drawback, the engine didn´t respond quicly to throttle changes so allied fighters waited for them and attacked when they went in for landing. When they noticed the allied fighter they pushed the throttle, but usually it was too late.
But what really "killed" Luftwaffe and the Nazi war machine was the lack of fuel. :)
@shuttj For at least the past ten years the copies have been out there. They use the same engine the Lear Jet uses. The plans came from a two seat-er the Navy had on display. They offered to restore it to static display, in exchange for making patterns of the original aircraft.
1947 ? I doubt that with this aircraft still in existence, as the tail dragger was a very early design, and was unlikely to survive the war. Plus are those Gigants I see in the back ground ? Another aircraft that may have out been around in 1947. Good footage none the less.

Thank You (sincerely) for not playing rap/hip hop music during this exceptional look at aviation history, and... thinking it was 'cool' to do so.

@L33tP1ckL I wish this video was set to some techno or hip hop. It would've been so much cooler.
