  • mr viperkeeper

who makes those locks you use on your larger visions. thanks gene

  • @genowenderski Don't know. I buy them with the cages.

  • Mr. Coritz,

I was wondering what your opinion was on those gentle giant tongs? I have always been very reluctant to try tongs for fear of injuring the animal, but I have heard that these have gone a long way to solving that problem? What has been your experience?

  • @CitizenSoldier211 The 'Gentle Giants' Work well and minimize the chance of injury to the animal. I only use them when I have a very uncooperative snake. They work best if you buy some medium grit sand paper with a stick back and past it on the 'spoons' that grab the snake, otherwise they will slither out or you'll have to apply serious pressure and injure the snakes.

  • Sorry to here about Kirk, Al your the greatest with your snakes, I can not seem to quit watching them, good job, and keep the videos coming, big fan from Colorado.

  • Hello Al, if you don't mind what happened to Kirk?

  • @2vodca He died a few years back. No snakes were involved.

  • You want to spit at the nice ppl? o.O :D LOL

  • hey Al, if you could have any snake, no matter the price or laws, which one would you want?

  • @ThePretender25 Golds Tree Cobra

  • @viperkeeper i tried doing a bit of research on the golds tree cobra but couldn't find much other than that their venom is somewhat of an enigma. is it just the rarity of it that makes the snake special? and how much do they usually cost?

  • @ThePretender25 It is exactly that! No bite accounts on record. Difficult to catch even if you know where they 'hang out'. No laboratory venom profiles have ever been published.

  • is this your business! or just hobby collecting snakes! or what is your purpose handling danger everyday!

  • @jaandil7 Danger? What danger? Visiting North Philadelphia, now that's dangerous.

  • You should make a video (and sorry if you already have) about the idiocy and dangers involved with removing venom glands, as it is harmful for the snake and dangerous to handlers. Search "Snakebusters" which is an entertainment group who lets children hold venomoids!

  • ah, so it's a good idea to read the comments if you're going to ask questions. i feel sufficiently stupid.

  • @p4nt33s Most of the time the answer lies below. At least your realized your mistake:-)

  • So funny, I talk to my snakes exactly the same way. People think it's kind of strange, but they're quite expressive and have clear personalities (okay, so no facial muscles really, but they have lots of "body language"). Who makes those tanks that you use?

  • @p4nt33s

all the gray cages are made by Vision. The smaller glass ones on the sides are also made by Vision.

  • Did you make the accessories yourself?

  • @chueychuey No....

  • @viperkeeper Oh. They are nice though. I haven't seen those for sale but it gave me a good idea for making my own cage decor! :-)

  • sweet shirt!

  • Ufff I live in Germany so i can't met you.....

I can only learn from your's video how to take care of my couple of crotalus atrox albino.

Hope to see you one day in Hamm (terraristika).

  • Viperkeeper ur the shit

  • Do you keep any non venomous or just venomous snakes?

  • @TheLastSolo

    Just venomous

  • How many species do you have in your collection? // // // have you worked with?

  • @Shivasavasana

I currently have or have kept a total 42 Genera ~111 Species of venomous snakes

  • @viperkeeper WOW. You mentioned in a couple other videos that venomous snakes are pretty much a hobby for you and not your "day job," as it were. That makes the scope of your expertise all the more impressive, and begs the question, do you ever intend to display your collection publicly?

  • @Shivasavasana Most likely not. Too expensive overall.

  • HiYa, Al !! Love your new setup, first time seeing that. I enjoyed watching the Denver Zoo tour, not many get to see all the behind the scenes. Thanks for sharing that!

    Regards,

    Tasha

  • @tashagotjunk99 Thanks Tasha :-)

  • Viperkeeper there is no doubt in my mine that you don't keep your snakes enclosures clean. All I see is happy healthy snakes that are curious (which is a good thing) and are enjoying there new additions to there cage. Good job, and happy new year!

  • I always use a full face protection when I handle my spitters. You never know what is going to happen.

  • Viper keeper your the only person on YouTube that actully knows what your doing. Never not once have I ever been like I wouldn't do that lol. Good job keep up the good work and great vies I'm going to subscribe. P.s can we get a gabby update she's my fav, I'm planning on getting my own soon :)

  • i didn't know you were a plumber. lol

  • do most of the snakes like same temp or do some have their particulars

  • @crytun Yeah snake has a range of temp's they like, so I set up a gradient in each cage and let them move around to whe temp they like.

  • 3:59 hehe he peeps out, very cute. u ever just want to pet their head but know u cant? Do u have any snakes that aren't venomous?

  • @chizoioioi No

  • @viperkeeper no to both lol? Id want to pet them, but yea I guess after all the times they snap at me that feeling would wear off quick

  • Good thing I was wearing my ear buds, or my mom would be spiting more than Sarclet.

  • did all your snakes get little Christmas trees for there cages :)

  • @tripleraven LOL

  • whats the point of having something that you can never touch and wants to kill you....

  • @humantestdummy Stop talking about my ex-wife that way.

  • @viperkeeper does your light bill cost alot?

  • @562bitchkilla Yes...it's way high in the summer.

  • @viperkeeper

    haha :D

    happy new year viperkeeper!

  • @viperkeeper LOL

  • @humantestdummy y u mad bro

  • @humantestdummy You can enjoy venomous snakes without cuddling with them like a rabbit. They don't want to kill you, they would rather be left alone. Most snakes are very careful with their venom-it is an expensive protein that they don't want to waste. And Viperkeeper CAN touch them becasue he has the experience and knowledge of how to handle them while not loosing the respect for what can happen if he is not careful.

  • @humantestdummy

You think a venomous snake wants to kill you? Try a cat..

  • @humantestdummy It doesn't want to kill you if you treat them with respect.

  • I saw on some TV show that it's possible to become allergic to a snakes venom from coming in contact with the snakes poop and shed skin. The results being a much worse reaction to a bite and a much smaller amount of time for treatment before death from anaphalactic shock. Al, is there any truth to this at all? It's the first time I ever heard anything like that.

  • @snakehead36 Yes, absolutely true.

  • @mrdylanmagic Thanks much. I really like the design of those cages. I know where the other white ones were from.

  • VK, love your videos. This may sound a weird question, but have you ever noticed if you get along better with females snakes than with male snakes? I know this happens with parrots, dogs and other animals. Animals usually prefer owners of the opposite sex. Your female snakes could get jealous when visiting a female IRS inspector to your house, for instance.

  • @merlinpit Not really.

  • how long have you been keeping snakes bro

  • @DubStepEdition Venomous since 1973

  • Another great video from the Viperkeeper! Keep up the great videos VK. I learn so much from your videos and appreciate them all!

  • Do you know a good source to find info on Trimeresurus wiroti having trouble finding anything is there very many of these snakes in the u.s was told they are rare if they are how rare are they in captivity

  • @amazonguy2862 I know of nobody keeping them.

  • I spy with my little eye something that starts with Pink and ends with Floyd

  • My name is dogsky100 can you do a update video on python/boa ban

  • @dogsky100 The whitehouse is sitting on it...it's an election year.

  • PINK FLOYD ROCKS

  • glad to see you back workin well in the layer :)

dont get me wrong, loved the denver zoo special, but i admire your videos where you handle the snakes and show them in close-up :)

  • how long have u been doing this?

  • @562bitchkilla Working with venomous since 1973

  • @viperkeeper do u have any snake u value alot??

  • @562bitchkilla Yes, all of them

  • @viperkeeper Ig you get the venom in your mouth of on you face does it burn or anything?

  • @7504jc just when it contacts mucus membranes...

  • how many snakes do you have?

  • wow you sound so young :)

  • new snake room? looks new. I must of missed something.

  • @JohnCaven312 Two new snake rooms, I moved to a different location in July.

  • Thx for the video!

  • al, do you find naja pallida to have a rather calm demeanor? I mean, when you have to do cage maintenance does that particular species seem to behave well on a hook and tolerate handling well like the one in this video besides the warning shot of venom haha? I love their beautiful red coloration.

  • Love your videos a lot. I have been keeping non venomous herps for 10+ years and love all species of snakes, and have always been fascinated by the hots. Just a quick question, where do you get the cages you have your snakes in currently? I think some of your enclosures would be perfect for the snakes I am planning on getting in the next few months. I love the sliding panes on the front, very convenient. Hope all is well and I always look forward to your videos.

  • @spyral71 the grey ones are vision cages.

  • @mrdylanmagic Thanks much. I really like the design of those cages. I know where the other white ones were from.

  • viperkeeper, I have been watching you for along time now and i love the way you keep you snakes and i seen all your close calls. man you got some balls to just stick your hand in and grab that poop like nothing. i do alot of crazy stuff but i would never come within 6 feet of any mamba also is there any reason you dont have any eastern diamond backs there my personal fav. snake.

  • @TheHaxt0r I find R/S mostly boring.

  • @TheHaxt0r You must not have been watching for that long? He has addressed that within the last year, year and a half.

  • Is that a Zilla 1000W Thermostat used on Scarlett's cage? If so, are they very reliable and dependable?

  • @cummins789 Yes, they are generally very good.

  • Where can I buy one of those wash bottles that you use to water your snakes?

  • @mutantflamerobotics US Plastics

  • I'm curious who makes those enclosures sitting on top of the taipans cage.

  • @gromann They're all Vision Cages

  • That pallida looks beautfiul, what a nice one!

  • Good vid, can i ask, where did you get them fake pothos plants with the base, looking to get some for my arachnids. Cheers

  • @Sacco112 Herpsupplies decimal point com

  • The bag of bedding you have in the corner in the last part of video what is it? Im looking for some new stuff to try for a few of my snakes. And do you take rescued hots?

  • al! this video made me think...how clever/intelligent are snakes really!? i like to call it intelligence based on instinct, but do they have a mind??? what do you think? have a happy new year mate :)

  • Thank you for making such great videos. I only have a Stimson's Python, but I do enjoy watching all of your snakes.

  • The new room looks great! I'm wondering if a full face shield would be more advisable for the spitters? I mean all it would take is a drop and you could become blind from what I gather on these guys.

  • Thank you for making such great videos. :) I only have a Stimson's Python, but I do enjoy watching all of your snakes.

  • Hi Al,

Did you have any case of canibalism by the past, while trying to breed snakes ?

  • @xyzDucati Yes, Bitis caudalis, she had some very expensive meals! Sometimes babies will eat siblings too.

  • Congratulations for all your amazing videos ! Just a little critic about this one between 16'00" and 20'00" : even though you are a very handsome and nice looking guy, I confess that I would prefer to see the snakes than to see you describe what they do ! ;o)

  • @Igor55565 Yeah, sometimes I appear, prefer the snakes myself.

  • how do you clean their cage? how often and do you take them out of the cage?

  • Hey Al nice snake,1 question, whats the noise in the background,is that puff adder?and yeah do u have maybe bitis arientas sceleless? best wishes in new year from Croatia cheers

  • @progressivebrainscan Yeah, that's one of the Puff Adders! Never shuts-up....LOL

  • lol what about bitis arientas sceleless is there any in your collection?

  • @progressivebrainscan You mean 'scaleless'? No, I don't keep mutants.
