  • There are some intensely stupid comments on here.

  • Paddy Pantsdown obviously doesn't realise that he's just not that important any more. 'By the way', 'I think i know about this', 'listen to me', 'we're trying to clear up the mess left by Labour'. What a self-righteous old shit!

  • Ashdown is right. Cameron has made the UK appear small, scared, insular, and isolated. The world has taken note.

  • If Sarky and Murky sighned an EU arms deal with the Taliban he would back it!.. He is in Eu la! la! land ....no fool like an Old Fool.....

  • Surrender monkey.

  • Paddy Ashdown = Massive cunt!

  • The majority of UK nationals want a ref. ´cos they want to have real representation in their own parliament, something that the EU has been depriving them of steadily to a greater and greater degree for two decades. However, the traitor political class have been seeing to it that this ref. does not happen because they know the fuycking outcome....foregone conclusion Paddy old "bastard". I am sure you are pissed that your fabian plan is taking a kicking in the jacksy and that makes me happy.

  • @sinclair61 Actually you need to ask your own incumbent Governemnet why you cannot have a refferendum. And Ashdown is a former royal marine who has served this country before you decide to play the Right Wing Patriot.

  • @SOCIALISTnetwork Irrelevant.

  • @0muffins0 IN the words of Ed Miliband today "OH ! OH! So now Churchills words are irrelevant. What is irrelevant is a Britain that has no Empire to fall back on.Churchill was right our finest hour has past and it is time to get into the real world.

  • @SOCIALISTnetwork "So now Churchills words are irrelevant" - Yes they are. It is a logical fallacy to claim that something is right just because someone "authoritative" says it is so. Churchill was also against Indian independence. Was he right about that too?

If you did your research you'd know that Churchill supported the idea of a united europe, but not with the UK in it. Was he right about that too?

I thought you hated the tories SOCIALISTnotwork?

  • @0muffins0 Notwork? I thought we had cleared all that up nicely on Liars board before he deleted it. Yes I do hate Tories, and I am glad that this little nationalist jamboree has "corralled" the likes of you Arthur and Liar well and truly into the Tory Camp.Cos now unlike your revishionist shapeshifting of blame from capitalist to Socialist previously, you can now all be underpinned on this issue.Especially if Germany grows and we contract.I'll make you remember the 9th of december.

  • @SOCIALISTnetwork Typical idealogical soaked socialist brain. HOW many times have I told you that I'm a Libertarian and have never voted tory? Yet you still call me tory.

As for the economy, whether EU, UK, US or Japan, you have no idea what's coming our way, or why.

It's a shame you're against Indian independence, but then socialism is all about slavery isn't it. Can't have free peoples in YOUR little world, can we?

  • @0muffins0 You and the rest of the jingoistic followers of Liar have been complicit in your rhetoric for all things anti EU, anti immigrants and the like. You have for a while looked upon his mess in a "we told you so" smugness tone, but now your anti EU mantra is being played out in real life. And for the purposes of all the previous debates, what comes out of all this will either honour or condem your stance.Either way you will be pinned down on this issue. No going back.

  • @SOCIALISTnetwork "Pinned down"? "No going back"? What retardation is this Socialistnotwork? People explained WHY the euro would not work, WARNED that it would lead to a crisis, and described the process that the crisis would take ... 10 YEARS AGO! Yet the ideologues stuck their fingers in their ears, declared that the sky was pink, not blue, and proceeded with a project that was guaranteed to fail.

Economy trumps Ideology every time. This is why socialism always fails.

  • @0muffins0 But the pioneers of the EU were Capitalists, Why are you hysterically holding on to this myth that this was a Socialist brainchild ? You are in serious denial both about the ideas of a united Europe and the reality that Britain is not what it was.If we collapse you will quickly learn the Kingdom is anything but United. It's your politics that belongs in an Imperial Museum.

  • @SOCIALISTnetwork That you know nothing of my politics is clearly evident my little binary-thinking friend. Your socialist EU/euro is mathematically doomed, and for perfectly understandable and predictable reasons. Where are they going to find €2 TRILLION next year just to roll over Italian and Spanish debt? The EU bailout fund couldn't even raise a measly €3 billion. THAT is why the French are so miffed with Cameron ... there's no money to save the euro.

  • @0muffins0 Hahaha and you seem to think that we will come out of it smelling of roses ? Thankyou for once again aligning yourself with Cameron. We shall see where your feined patriotism has taken you in the coming months and years.Just like the anti muslim and anti immigrant mantra quietened down on this channel after Anders breivik decided to shoot up a load of socialists. So too will you when we fall on harder times because of Camerons little englander hissy fit.

  • @SOCIALISTnetwork Again, it is clear that you know nothing of my politics and are flailing around blindly for some stereotype that you socialists always use to paint people who don't agree with you. I don't vote tory. I supported the EU up to the Lisbon Treaty where the democratic deficit became too big to ignore. If you read ZeroHedge regularly you'd also realise that it's not just Europe that's screwed, it's the whole western world that is choking on too much debt.

  • @SOCIALISTnetwork "So too will you when we fall on harder times because of Camerons little englander hissy fit." - Nationalism is a Statist invention, and much used by Statist ideologies like Socialism, National Socialism, Communism, Militarism, and Fascism my binary-thinking friend. Camerons "little englander hissy fit" has zero bearing on what is coming. The complete collapse of Western economies is guaranteed thanks to the debt used to pay for 40 years of socialism.

  • @0muffins It's so funny how you guys still want to call it Socialism as soon as it fucks up.We shall see what side of the fence you will fall on come every protest that hits the streets.Something tells me that you will be in line with Cameron all the way. 40 years, and inspite of those wonderful years of thatcherism you still want to blame socialism. You are a revionist clown.

  • @SOCIALISTnetwork We've been spending more than we've been receiving in taxes for 40 years to pay for healthcare, pensions, benefits, education etc and have been borrowing to cover the difference. We even borrow money to pay off old debts that come due because we can't repay. We are utterly bankrupt and they're running the state via the printing presses just like Argentina/Yugoslavia did before they imploded. Socialism is dying. It will be killed by the debts.

  • @SOCIALISTnetwork Have a look at what happened to Argentina's social programmes after they went bankrupt and resorted to printing money. Their choice was one between continuing and worsening hyperinflation OR massive and drastic cuts to the state (healthcare, social programmes, benefits etc). Running out of money is what always kills socialism, and is what will even kill the social-democratic model of socialism practised here in Europe.

  • @0muffins0 Socialism is in Argentina right now, you know how they are where they are today? They refused to pay just like Iceland has.Argentina I am glad you used that as an example because it ullustrates just how you do not know what is going on over there and are just using lazy diatribe to get some sort of point out. Its the new Bolivarian Revolution that has seen South America rise harnessed by Hugo Chavez.Capitalism is dying.

  • jail time

  • Ashdown should be upset that he's been overtaken by UKIP and will be decimated at the next election, anyway who cares what he thinks, he & the rest of the lib dems thought the Euro was a good idea.

  • @DanielHewsonPianist The EU/euro and their biggest supporter the Lib-Dems are going to go down in flames together it seems.

  • Cameron is Thick.

  • Lord Ashdown is quite unpatriotic.

How can the UK get itself out of its current mess if it depends on the EU?

  • @Hkepfer Well he is an Ex Royal Marine so your crass observation bears no merit.

  • @SOCIALISTnetwork ...and all Marines are patriotic by definition?

  • @Hkepfer Are you seriously saying he has not proved that he has served and protected this country, and that fact can be swept aside by a pathetic Tribalist Tory who would rather take Camerons sincerity at first glance ? You see protecting a country is different from protecting just the Rich section of a country.

  • @SOCIALISTnetwork I do not know Mr. Ashdown's personal background -other than I remember him well as a MP. Given what he is saying in this particular piece he appears to be more loyal to the EU than to the UK.

Just as an example -Benedict Arnold was a war hero up until he was found out to be a traitor -with regard to loyalty, the past is not necessarily an indicator of current patriotic status. Is Mr. Ashdown a traitor -no -is he saying things that are ODD w/respect to UK loyalty -yes.

  • @Hkepfer "There is a remedy which ... would in a few years make all Europe ... free and ... happy. It is to re-create the European family, or as much of it as we can, and to provide it with a structure under which it can dwell in peace, in safety and in freedom. We must build a kind of United States of Europe."..Presuming you know about Winston Churchill then would you say that statement is one of a traitor ?

  • Comment removed

  • @SOCIALISTnetwork He was talking to Europeans. "We see nothing but good and hope in a richer, freer, more contented European commonality. But we have our own dream and our own task. We are with Europe, but not of it. We are linked but not compromised. We are interested and associated but not absorbed."

  • Notice the constant reference with pissing off the EU = destroying our relationship with Europe.

The EU is an organisation layered on top of Europe, they're not one and the same. There are countries outside the EU who still have a trading relationship with Europe.

It is in the Liberal Democrats interest to try to make the EU and Europe sound like the same things. Leaving one meaning leaving the other. Because that's the only way they can argue against leaving such a ridiculous organisation.

  • Everyone is so fucked up, don’t you see Brussels EU is all a illusion ! it’s our interest to stop this tax money wasting monster. I absolutely agree with David we don’t need more rules and bureaucracy we need less rules and no outside involvement !

  • @14842 You are being too logical -Hear, hear!

  • it is worth remembering that nobody votes for these incompetant Liberals anymore, they are clearly out of touch with the Real World, most of the 60 million people in Britain do not want any of our politicians to agree or sign anything else over to the eu.

Most of us want Out of the EU, but too many politicians are just hell-bent on signing all control of Britain over to Brussels and making it Irreversible so that we're completely stuck under Communist Rule.

  • Pantsdown is an EUSSR puppet.

  • @ukipwarrior Nevermind , this country will hit another recession , but at least aload of right wing Knuckle Draggers can enjoy a "Bendy Bananna" and a Routmaster Bus in London eh.

  • It's great to see so many Lib Dem bastards pissed off.
