Yep, duck and cover drill INSIDE the press. We got all upset over Blood Diamonds. I bet there is more blood spilled in Chinese factories in a year than in the decade of civil wars in Sierra Leon over the diamond fields.
showing unions how it should be done. no complaining, no 15 minutes every hour for your cigarette break, no disappearing and taking a nap in the back room and then filing a grievance when you manager says something.
@gagecube Yet that was 200 years ago and we're supposed to be in a different day. We have to remind our politicians all over the world that we will not stand for this type of behavior and buy Fair trade products. Unless you're a hypocrite.
@ohjubba who signed the trade agreement w/ China in the 90s? He was from what state? where is Wal-Mart HQ? His wife sat on the board of WM. Who had the Chinese over for Tea and sleep overs? Who gave China the missile guidance system for US satellite TV corps? Now China can hit any city in the US w/. a warhead. These are just a few. Go google some of these questions and you might see things differently. Remember when cheap goods were made in Taiwan? They are still a democracy.
The problem is communism. In a free country this would be automated and done with robots, but the communists need to keep everyone working, so innovation stops. In America these guys would be technicians: educated and making good money working "on" the equipment not under it. FREEDOM IS THE SOLUTION TO THE HUMAN CONDITION!
blue collar workforce is largly to blame for the overseas shift in manufacturing.... not so its largely due to inflation. White collars want more profit so they rase the prices on goods... there for the blue collar mans dollar dosent go as far, he asks for a raise, or min wage goes up. white collar has to pay out more, so he wants more profit. so he raises the price again. and this goes on for ever... If we strive to keep inflation low, we can live comfertabily...
This is insane. I've worked with large stamping presses. The very idea of anyone between the dies, under the ram, would never happen here. I'll bet those workers don't even have hand controls to operate the ram, I'll bet it is timed, and God help anyone who has any part od their body in the wrong place.
It seems like we forget that things like food and homes aren't owed to anyone; they are things that need to be earned. We stole our land from Native Americans, made wealth with REAL slaves, and industrialized our nation with labor conditions similar to these. Now we are too attached to luxury and safety to do the hard work that needs to be done to maintain our lifestyle. The Chinese, however, are willing to work hard. It's not their fault we lost our strength and are too tied to luxury.
If i take a job for 2 dollars an hour, that's what I should be paid to work for. These workers are not forced coerced or otherwise unwilling sitting there, I can guarantee you they are rather happy to be there. I'll be willing to bet that any one of these men would cry and be very embarrassed to come home to his family and have to explain to them that he lost his job not because of an evil corporation but because his workmates were unwilling to take less pay so the job moved to another country.
Well said, A man should only be paid to work for what he is willing to work for. And I don't mean what he is comfortable working for. Unions aside, the blue collar workforce is largly to blame for the overseas shift in manufacturing
UNREAL!! When you have 1.5 billion people you can sacrifice a few to become the largest manufacturer in the world at any cost. What happens to the U.S. when we dont produce any goods?
Spare us the Hypocrisy. Sixty percent of the Sweatshops in China are Foreign-owned. If you want to protest, do so at their headquarters in YOUR own country.
they chinez are going to die soo cause the press is going to give out and fall on them and they will die and then we wont need to worry about them comming over heer and taking our jobs
looks like a easy job... and that is why they get paid so bad... fair!

Yes, but you forget that the people who do this kind of work should be getting paid a hell of a lot more than you and I both know that they are.

I'm sure the workers wouldn't complain if they get more than 2 dollars an hour.
And I'm sure if there is a better job than this one, they would go for it.
You say it as if this job is an option out of thousands. Option is a luxury that these people do not have.

Hey, Communism does not allow Unions and besides, they got more workers "when needed" at the drop of a dime. No OSHA, no safety standards.
