Boston did something most bands didn't do. They found a sound that works, kept it going just long enough, but not too long for fans to get burned out on it. No rush to put out dozens of albums, but rather to put out just a few VERY GOOD one!
My very first live concert experience of my life(I've been to hundreds over the years) was in 1976. I saw the Doobie Brothers open for Boston in Lexington, Ky. when Rupp Arena was literally a brand spanking new arena that had just opened it's doors!! AWESOME SHOW from both bands that night!!
Either this was a huge stadium, or Boston wasn't filling it? The audience looks ill attended for stadium and Boston?..I thought boston sold out everywhere back then? But i missed all the good shit growing up in early 80s..The worst.
@dannyhood66 I saw Boston back in 1988 at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas when touring in support of the Third Stage album. They were the headliners, and playing in front of 80,000 screaming fans. Trust me I was there!!
@wilx218x That is cool, i thought they were just as big in 70s made come back in 86 This stadiam is not full from what i remember of boston, Every time i went to someones house the first album sit in front of everyones recored collection circa 1980, either that or highway to hell?
The same user had uploaded a Foreplay/Long Time video from the same concert wich also vanished with his (or her) account... these were simply the best Boston videos that I've seen in all my life.
Previously, there was a version with a church organ (or maybe a pipe organ) interlude that lasted about three minutes, but unfortunately the user who uploaded the video had ceased his account and since then I just can not find anywhere else in the entire video.
Bummer... Boston had a Summer Jam scheduled in Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium back in the 70s.. but it got canceled... I still have the advertisement for it in my concert book. i was ready to go to that one because Boston was always one of my favorite bands.
I believe that was on the Don't Look Back tour. I saw them on Don't Look Back at the San Diego Sports Arena, my seats were third-row floor, on the left (when facing the stage). An incredible but dang loud show. My left ear rang for 3 days after that.
Like the they mention once or twice, there was a lot of rain. That never helps for sound. The sound was passable. It was your average stadium PA system. Although as a bass player I like that on this recording the bass comes out well.
i dance in my everything none the less I rock happy valentines I am stag

Fran Sheehan should be inducted into the Headbanger's Hall of Fame. He was banging like a MOFO before many of the thrashers even set foot on stage.
