  • Remind me not to get an over wing seat. You can't see anything but wing!

  • HAHA look at all the losers with camerAS

  • @wizzair1313 yea but we can expect a better view from their video

  • wow, that landing was so smooth i didn't even notice the aircraft has already touched down! :D

  • such a smooth landing!

  • FAA rules that everyone should turn off their portable electronic devices during take-off and landing :D

  • @philipjohnfranco1 Did the airplane crash?

  • @philipjohnfranco1 omg shut uppppppppppppp obviously it doesn't do anything

  • @philipjohnfranco1 Ever heard about a crash due to someone having a camera out?

  • W0000000!! BANG!!!!! AHHHHHH

  • the landing was soo smooth!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @LegoCityShow what does a music LOOK like?

  • but the piolet seems awsome..

  • 15 hours of hell...

  • hey, here's a fact - it lands by itself most of the time (ILS cat IIIc), so stop clapping ! for the love of god.

  • lol you're right

  • It cracks me up that they say you cannot use recording equipment but most of the plane has a camcorder! rofl

If they have changed it i apologise but it did seem a little funny at the time after i have been told so many times to shut the camera off. I love this plane!

  • I love it when people are clapping together!!especially after the long flight!!

  • some folks of certain country clap lol, don't know why, asians and arabs never do it

  • Hello!Nice landning!=)

    5 star!=)

    Greeting TheCARRE74=)

  • I've always wondered this question:

Is the turbulence onboard the A380 strong?

  • @hotelhi No, on the A380 you don't feel anything! Landings are very smooth.

  • You can land a turboprop on its wing lol. That was cool that you witnessed that first hand.

  • its the first a380 commercial flight into sydney why not clap and yell don't ask stupid question about why r they clapping?

  • OK fair enough. My mistake in not seeing it was the first flight.

However, if you search for other flights on A380 (not just 1st flight of EK, QF or SQ), it is full of happy clappers. I just find it really irritating!

  • It was the first-ever scheduled of the A380 in commercial service - knowing how popular the first flight would be, SIngapore Airlines AUCTIONED off all the seats for this flight, with all proceed going to various charities - this was no ordinary flight - of course there'd be clapping!!

Oh, and I'll bet you those who flew the first commercial CONCORDE service on both BA and Air France clapped and whooped as well when IT took off and touched down, too!

  • Mostly every long-haul flight i have been on everyone has clapped. It's a custom that signals the end of a long journey. Basically it mirrors customs of travellers back in ancient times.... when a weary traveller used to roll into town a feast and a dance was put on for that visitor - all the fanfare was laid on for them and lots of cheering went with it.

  • no, I went on 4 long-haul flights in Quik Time ( LHR-BOS BOS-LHR LHR-MIA MIA-LHR) and no one clapped.

  • of course , after so many hours, who the hell is gonna clap, I would be looking for my ass...

  • LoL.... everyone that sit on the windows view rec. the landing..... It's a really personal documentary expirience

  • smooth landing

    :)

  • you had the worst seat in the whole plain hah

  • This is probably my favorite video just for the fact that 0:59 into it, you discover that mtarone is not the only one taping the landing HAHAHAHAHA

    Touche!

  • lol. I noticed that too.

  • It looks funny when an A380 taxies by 737s or some small planes. It is like the bully of the hallways lol.

  • can't wait till this aircraft will come back to montreal

  • really big wing!

  • yeah but its only on that side of the plane

  • ok this is the biggest and the best of the flight wourld and yoy no it this is the best plane i have ever seen being build at my home town airport it is huge now to settle the thing about "do they clap after every filght " no yoy idion its is the first tuch down with that plane on comurchial fligt

sory about selling in from france tiouloose

  • brett18uk...stop getting your knickers in a twist. QF A380 pales in comparison. A good product but not quite SQ and EK standards. You dont need to have insider info to analyse the differences between the 3 product offerings...and what's the deal with Premium Economy? Its such a rip off. Twice the price of economy for that little bit more. Really???

  • Nice vid..thank you

  • do they always clap when they made the touch down of every flight?

  • only white people does not muslim

  • haha people clapped on the plane when i went to NYC. i saw on comedy central where they made a joke about this. they asked "why do people clap when a plane lands? whats next? are they going to boo when it crashes in a cornfield?"

  • Wow a lot of people are filming the flight, I am sure that the flight crew made an exception with "no devices during take off and landing" lol.

  • geez stop all the winging.just fly along together on this big bird........

  • You should've had that switched off for landing, lol.

  • nice nose picking at 1.31

  • LOL

  • I live in Sydney and have flown the Sydney Singapore route and i must say the economy seats are bigger, have more recline and are more comfortable than a 747. The leg room is even bigger.

  • Is it just me or does the Economy class seats don't look any bigger than Boeing's 777 or 747? I thought this was supposed to be the world's largest aircraft. Leave some more space for the seats and aisles. (for those who can't pay for first class)

  • Singapore's Economy is more comfortable then any other Airline. The seat pitch and leg room is nothing like other Economy class seats. Singapore Airlines so far has less economy seats then Emirates and Qantas a380. Meaning more leg room........

  • I'm a Flight Attendant with Qantas and you'll find that our A380 has greater pitch in the economy cabins.

  • Your not a Flight attendant for Qantas. Well if you are, you totally dont know too much about your company. The seat pitch for Qantas Economy on the a380 is 31 inch, while SIA a380 is at 32.

  • I sure am a Flight Attendant with Qantas Darls and I can assure you that I know an awful lot more about the firm than your fine self judging by your response! Happy flying y'all! X

  • Some flight attendant then, you do not even know the seat pitch for your new Flagship carrier. 0_o Nice try in trying to pull a fast one buddy.

  • Why are you so angry and rude?! I was simply pointing out that I am a London based Qantas Flight Attendant and will be operating on this aircraft very shortly and that accordingly I happen to have at least a little inside knowledge, which seems kind of relevant given this thread.

  • Then you should have clarify what you were trying to say because your comment clearly is not accurate. Im not saying you not a flight attendant, What im saying is that you should know facts before posting it. You state that Qantas A380 has a greater seat pitch in Economy then on Singapore. Which is wrong. Im only calling out your mistake, dont get all defensive.

  • sweat

  • I would stick to the new 777 and 747-8 although I would like to go try on a 380...Ok on both...i should say...

  • Everybody with a camera!!!

  • that is one massive plane!

  • cant stand the classical music that seems to be on every A380 video posting.

  • That's Jazz u idiot

  • i love the backround music- only when you board and exit the plane. I would be anooyed on a flight with so much of clapping and cheers. I would get a headache. i hope to fly one of those

  • obviously u haven't been on this luxurious plane. wat a pity.

  • Thats what all airlines need to do: play nice relaxing elevator music during take off and landing.

  • I guess to flight with in June....

  • So proud to be there

  • awesome!!!

  • Damn, I wish I was on that flight! I bet it was a memorable experience and.. SIA is a worthy customer for the first flight!

  • What makes you thing that is overweight.

  • that plane aint overweight... u are!

  • Hope this thing flies to Perth!

  • I would ride it but if it cost $8,000 on economy seat, I'll stick with the good old 747.

  • me2 or 777

  • Ya i'd stick with the 777, it has a better safety record that the 747.

  • ya but remember newer planes are comming out and we have to try them I mean I dont mined going on the A380 (if I had the money) I mean bar, large space, and the best part 2 levels!

  • Ya i agree i was just making a comparison between the 777 and the 747. I've no doubt that the A380 is just as safe as the 777 if not safer.

  • ya I know right

  • true! LOL!!!

  • i know really if its that much and they dont lower the prices im going with the good old 747

  • they highered the prices per seat on a380

  • the first flight in the A380 (this flight) cost $8000 for an economy seat

  • Where did you sit?

  • Id have to say they clapped in this one because it was history the first A380 landing ive flown alot and have never seen clapping , but yeah what a plane

  • I'm a pilot, and it's a costume that everyone claps if you make a smooth landing XD

  • wow every people brought a camera,,,heheheeh wish i was there

  • i actually do that esp when it is a long haul flight with philippine airlines and when somebody heard me they also clap hehehehhe,,,

  • why people claps when a flight lands???

  • Because they are landing

  • because there is like 500 hundred people on that plane and thats alot of people on a plane so it was a miricale i guess

  • Wow, I've never seen so many cameras on a single passenger flight! This must have been so exciting! And in response to whoever thinks clapping is lame... I was expecting some clapping actually! Come on! This is the first commercial flight of the largest (and one of the most expected) airliner!

  • then dont fly on it and stick to your useless american planes... (im american by the way)

  • Thats why its called a cockpit!

  • found a queer!lol

  • how many cabin crew serve on an A380?

  • A few.

  • a380 is bigger than 747, but 747 will always be queen of the skies =]

  • that's right! the 747 will be the queen, but the A380 is the king of the skies! ;o)

  • Here in America it is a tradition to clap when the pilot safely lands the plane, and every other flight I have been on, even the international ones, people clap, to thank the pilots and crew for doing their job and taking pride and safely bringing us to a destination. Pilots are glad to hear the clapping, sadly enough some people aren't happy to arrive to a destination safely, and don't thank/respect pilots and crew enough for the fact that they got you there in one piece...

  • Jesus Christ, that wing is huge. Not even the 747 can compare to that whale of a plane.

  • very nice cabin seats :)

it's boring to sit in that row looking towards that part on the wing isn't it...

  • You probably have other reasons to hate expression of positive emotion. Remember also that it is a custom to cheer when a plane touches the ground. When it is the first landing of a tech marbel, it is funnier than normally. Do you understand?

  • chunder123 just shup up, why post such a stupid comment

  • holy shit, you can't see anything. BAD LUCK IF YOU GET THIS SEAT!

  • actualy you can

you can see the wing lol and i like being in a wing seat

  • not me

  • Damn, not much of a view over the wing lol

  • I was wondering. Did they have that bar in the middle with a duty free shop and what not? Because that looked really awesome in the promo vid. If you can answer that would be great!

  • Damn, that wing is huge

  • how much did it cost?

  • We paid $3.8KUSD for two economy seats one way, I'm sure there will be others who paid more/less as it was an ebay auction.

  • Oh! I was on that same flight on the uppper level and I paid about 1K for the 1st class seating.

  • great vid what was the cabin like compared to the 747 ?

  • You are absolutely right. There is no doubt that this plane is a very comfortable airliner and does deserve every success.

  • Great video. What was the seat like compared to a 747? Was it a lot more space or not really noticable?

  • Whilst the width of the seat seems the same, there is definintely more leg room, and when you push the seat back, the base of the seat moves forward so its give you a slightly better angle which is great.

A combination of other things such as laptop power in each seat, large entertainment screen, movies on demand and hopefully Internet soon will be great for killing time whilst flying.

  • ahah that wing is humongous..

man you are really lucky.. i wish I could hagvebeen on that flight.

  • how big is that wing lol??????

  • So much for turning off all electronic equipment, and fastening seat belts until the 'seat-belt sign' is turned off during descent and after landing.

  • I know, I know. Its not really an excuse but everyone else was doing it (including the BBC and CNN crews).

  • Beautiful, Next time when you are onboard in any plane, book a seat behind the wind or infront it, cause with this view i can't see anything. Nice video, Congrats on being on the First to Fly SQ380 to SIN-SYD. Being the one in the aviation history. Can't wait to go on that next year. When i'm going to SYD. Guess WHAT! I'm from Singapore!. Are you from Singapore?. View my Video Of the SQ380 Taxiing to GATE A27. Are you a BIG FAN OF AIRBUS A380.
  • Unfortunately none of us where given the chance to change seats on this flight. The seat allocation we were given was final. However, being over the wing is the most stable part of the aircraft. We had an extremely smooth (and very quiet) flight. By the way I'm from Australia. I flew to Singapore the day before the flight.
