A Mac 10 can be used as a side arm just like a handgun. If anything it's more effective in a close range than a hand gun due to its higher rate of fire since hand guns are usually only semi-automatic. Criminals are always going to have access to guns. There's no way to curb the violence. Questioning of fire arms and access to them will be around for as long as we are.

Exactly, the only reason to have an illegal gun is to kill, so why don't they make the penalty of getting caught with an illegal gun so harsh that it won't happen? If you get caught with an illegal gun, it should be 15 years... period. If you make the penalty harsh enough watch how quickly all this shit is gonna stop.

Since it's already illegal for a felon to have a gun in their posession, and that obviously does not stop them, why make guns illegal? Why not give felons harsh sentences for their crimes (including posession of firearms when caught) and allow the law-abiding citizens the chance to defend themselves?
