I got a great buzz out of watching this video as my uncle, Alan Sinclair is in it - I can now prove to all of my friends that he did play with Phil Lynott all those years ago. Thanks for posting it!
You made my day .... At 2.02 how guys teach fighting. It was just epic had to rewatch 10 times, To get that you were so lucky. Thank you, thank you for shareing :)
I just can't get over what i'm seeing here... this is brilliant, Thanks for sharing with us (thanked already yesterday on Skid Row clip but may have to thank you every day from now on... haha)
Many thanks for uploading and sharing this footage. Likewise 'Philip Lynott and Skid Row 1969'. You have surprised, delighted and made a lot of Lynott/Lizzy fans/supporters very happy - Phil O
Thanks for your support....... Note the View count didn't change after you viewed it........ it's frozen by Youtube. ......Anyway......... Phil was a great guy....... I was glad to buy him dinner when he was skint!
I brought a camera ( black & whilte still camera) to a Dance Hall in Crumlin called "The Moran Hall" and took photo's of the band on stage. This was a very unusual thing to do in 1965. Philip came down to me between songs and asked me to give him copies of the still photo's which I then brought to his house in crumlin. We became friends and I offered to make movies of the Band. Philip wanted to copy some the ideas used in The Beatles " A Hard Days Night" See Philip Lynott and Skid Row 1969.
This footage was taken with a three-turret lens. There was no zoom available then. Once you chose the telephoto lens ( to take long distance) you cut off the heads when you moved the camera closer to the subject. It was necessary to continually change from Telephoto to Standard lens....... but the lads were not up for stopping and starting every time I changed the lens ... so the cut off heads
This is amazing. Despite being a Lizzy fan since 1977, I'm still finding footage that's new to me. What a brilliant video for all us Phil/Lizzy fans.
