Very nice work guy, hats off on a job well done ;)!! I'm working on the bass line 4 that song myself and might post it once I nail it (as best I can). Wish I had someone like u here in Taiwan 2 jam with; ppl here just don't know nor appreciate good music like IME.
Nice playing !! I'd like to see more IME. Maybe you could do Meat Dreams off of The Quicksilver Meat Dream. That album represents Christian's best playing of his career. Just for the record, my opinion is that IME was SO SO much better with Brian, as opposed to Edwin.
crazy..you figured it all out by ear!!!im eventually gonna learn this song...working on some smashing pumpkins right now and s.t.p...but soon..used to be allright is another cool tune i wanna learn...but good work bro!!!
That's awesome! I really enjoyed watching your drumming. A+ for doing it all by ear. That's tough to do. I'd love to see you doing the latin rhythms on that ...
And I agree with you. IME's latin rhythms were so incredibly amazing. I just don't know enough about latin rhythms to even begin to reproduce them! :-)
yeh they definately own!!!i was lucky enough to catch the very last performance of i mother earth together with edwin at edgefest 97!!!!amazing!!!!still love em to this day!!!rain will fall would be sweet!!!levitate would be outta control...if i ever get a vid of one more astronaut up ill let you know!!!;)
Thanks, I couldn't find any tabs for this song or many other IME songs for that matter. So yeah, just by ear - I would have liked to see the intro tabbed out...
you know I've never actually tabbed a song but here is what I do.
I listen to the song a lot...in the car or wherever.
I drum from start to finish a few times with the SONG volume up much louder than the drums so I can hear what is going on.
After I think I got the gist of it, I try to play along with the song with the volume still a little louder so I can really hear the original drums. And if I mess a part up or find a part that is tricky - I keep redoing that part and study it...

Damn, IME so wayyy under rated.
Once I get better (I'm roughly a year in) and learn how to tab songs It'll broaden the perspective of what I can play by a lot.
Learning by ear though, it's pretty damn close. Learn Not Quite Sonic or Production next :P
