Hi there, Acrylic glitter??? I haven't heard of that before... I used Martha Stewart glitter, so I can't really answer that. Let me know how it works.
you have me so intrigued! how does the glitter stick to the inside and does it stay? what has your success been with it? i am ready to go to the store and get this stuff!!!!
Hi dear, It does work! The floor polish is sooooo super sticky, it acts like a super clear glue. Mine were in perfect condition even this year & super easy to make. Good luck...
Thank you so much for doing this! My dear mom has been wanting personalized ornaments for years now, but I'm so uncreative! This just gave me a wonderful idea. You seem to be so handy at doing these things, do you have any tips for writing names on the ornaments? Thanks again!! I'm so excited!
@secondhandshoes Hi Dear, Thanks for watching, as afar as personlizing your ornament ~ you could use stickers, vinyl ( cut letter out w/your Cricut if you have one) or use rub-on's. I prefer rub-on's & use them all the time. Another idea, use a glue pen to write letter & then add a different color glitter. I hope that helps, let me know how they turn out~
Does it matter what kind of Pledge cuz i could only find... Pledge Floor care tile and vinyln floor vinish with future shine... So will that work or is it ever the same thing as what you used?? I cant wait to make these!! Oh and P.S. I love your videos!!
Thank you so much for posting this! I saw the idea somewhere last week and thought it was so cute! So I bought all the ornaments at Michael's and when it came down to buying reinker I was so bummed. Long story short, I almost gave up on this idea of glitter ornaments due to the price until I saw your video!
Hi dear, You are so sweet! Thanks for the wonderful comment & I agree, the re-inker thing is very exspensive & takes a really long time to get good coverage. The Pledge works super fast & makes it so affordable to mkes lots of these beautiful ornaments! TFW...
@monvasqu Hi dear... I agree, Pledge is very affordable... I don't know if it is toxic or flammable. Good question though, but I don't have an answer for you. I'll let you know if I hear anything on the subject. Thanks for sharing your thoughts...
@Dwinabeana Hi there, I don't know... I guess you could use the ModPodge thing. It might take alittle longer to dry. This was very quick & super easy, that's what I am talkin' about! TFW...
Just an FYI. I used the new plastic ornament balls that is sold at Michaels. Looks just like the glass ones (sold right next to them too) and this idea works with the plastic balls also. I have little ones and wanted them to do this project. Loved this idea and I'm glad you shared it with us.
Hi there, Oh yeah! I am so glad the plastic ornaments work too... that's much safer with little ones in the house, Have fun & share what you create, I am going to do a video tonight of a super easy & super cute ornament. Keep your eye out for that tomorrow.
Hi dear, I didn't wait ong at all for them to dry. I place the cap back on immediately, but I am sure 15 minutees would do the trick. good Luck, you will love them!
Ok, now that it's been several months since you made that ornament, does the glitter stay in place all year long? I'm afraid once I pack my ornaments away, the floor wax and glitter will settle to the bottom of the ornament. Let me know! Thanks so much!!!
Hey Cyndi, Mine are just fine... it's been almost a year & they still look great! I hope they turn out for you as they make beautiful gifts to give to friends & family.
Hi Gale, Question for you. Have you tried using a really fine white glitter with the pledge? This year I am going to tr y this, and make some with the ulta fine white glitter to make "snowy" like ones.
Did you notice any difference as far as glitter flaking off the inside when using the Pledge vs the ink? I am going to try the pledge and just want to make sure the glitter is staying on the inside after a few days/weeks etc. Thanks!!
@xrockchild Yes, I did use fine/white glitter & it worked great! I saw no difference between the ornaments that I used re-inkers vs. using the Pledge. The re-inkers took forever to move around & I am totaly hooked on the Pledge! I hope that helps you out...
@galecrafts Thank you! Yes that helps. Thanks for your quick response. I am totally feeling christmasy and dare not show anyone other than my significant other that I am watching christmas crafts hahahah. Thanks again! :)
@xrockchild Oh don't be shy now girlie... I've already started shopping for next year! Woo-Hoo! I love Christmas, my friends always ask if brought any Christmas C.D.'s with me when we take them out on our boat! LOL! You will be very happy with the results. Let me know how it works out.
@galecrafts Im a boy, but thats okay! Theres always a first. :) This worked btw! There is a local holiday store here that is year round and they sell some iridescent ornaments. Not exactly clear, but I wanted to try it anyway. It works very well!! I am rather shocked! I am looking forward to the holidays this year so I can make all kinds of cool stuff with them! Thanks again!
Oooops! My apology my friend, just habit. I am so glad it worked for you. I made TONS of these & gave them as gifts along with homemade cookies last Christmas. Everyone loved them. We have Christmas Tree Shops out here in Jersey too, but I prefer to make my own. Just my opinion...
@galecrafts thats okay hehe! I agree with you there! I had to get the clear ornaments from them to try it myself. I can't wait to get more later this year and make lots of different shades. I think I may give some as gifts as well. :)
Thanks for leaving such a nice comment! I love this project and it is super easy. I have made a bunch for all the ornament exchanges and everyone loves them. Let me know how yours turn out.
cool i was wondering if it could be done without reinkers thanks gale i have made 5 for my mom all boxed ready to give her xmas eve so she can hang them on her tree!!! i used the martha glitter i love it!! i'm off to buy pledge bye
Hi butterflyamanda! This is sooo awesome and amazingly quick to do. I am glad it really worked and I don't have to use up all my re-inkers. Not to mention the time it saved.
I was worried about the reinker cost too! I wonder if you could take some Elmer's glue, water it down, and do the same thing. I'll try that and let you know! - That would be even cheaper yet!
Hi Candledamachine, Great idea! I hope it works, I agree, it would be even less exspensive and hopefully it will work. I used a clear Martha Stewart glue in one and it clumped and didn't dry properly.
Holy cats! It does work!

I can see the upside of using Pledge Future Shine Floor Polish; however isn’t Pledge toxic as well as flammable?

Can't one use glossy ModPodge then glitter? Maybe watered down - not thick. Thanks for the video - MUCH more affordable!
