  • cool idea . to use deved. for this! thank you

  • How do you get the unity on the bottom of the screen?

  • @vpdude117 That isn't a Unity Launcher, go to Ubuntu Software Center and look up Cairo dock and install it. It will be found under Menu>System Tools. And you can change the theme to whatever you want! (Make sure you log on to Ubuntu classic) To log on to Ubuntu Classic you have to go to the bottom of the log on screen and choose Ubuntu classic instead of Ubuntu before you log on.

  • Thanks for the vid great stuff...

  • im new to Ubuntu. This was super helpful! 3 cheers from Trinidad!

  • I did as you showed in the video , but when i press record , there is no "cube" where i can pause it or stop it ?!?!?

Can you please help me ?

  • @TibianDevy You have to right click the top of the panel, add to panel, and select notification area. It should be there next time you select record

  • @Jontheking100 lol, thanks :-)

  • I've had a lot of problems with pulse as well. I suggest just disabling it.

  • @maylin1986 You are so freakin' welcome!!

  • how did u get the unity launcher on the bottom

  • @tinkman98 I don't believe unity was made in this version of Ubuntu, I'm pretty sure that came out with Ubuntu 10.10 or 11.04. But the version I have in this video is Ubuntu 10.04.

  • @tinkman98 That isn't a Unity Launcher, go to Ubuntu Software Center and look up Cairo dock and install it. It will be found under Menu>System Tools. And you can change the theme to whatever you want!

  • this doesnt work for me when i try to record sound it record absoulutley nothing what do i do?

  • @ihopesome1readsthis OK, if your mic doesn't record at all, open up your Terminal (Applications>Accessories>Terminal) type in "alsamixer" without the quotes. Then you use the arrow keys to go to mic... turn the mic all the way up, including front mic. See if that helps, thanks!

  • @Jontheking100 still not working this honestly making me realy frustrated cos it seems as if linux is completley uselss nothing semms to work for me

  • I tried that i got the drop down box, and selected the 1080p and 16:9 but it says conversion failed a bug of mencoder... is it my computer or somet?

  • @adii3317 Ummm. You might not have the updated encoding software. Open your Ubuntu Software Center and then type in mencoder, download the latest versions.

  • @Jontheking100 i already have the mencoder but still says conversion failed a bug of mencoder.

  • @Havesaid I had this problem also in Devede, but mine was due to trying to set the the Final Size of the video larger than the actual video size itself. If you want your original video to still be big and clear, I noticed that when I click on the 1920X1080 and change the Aspect Ratio to 16:9, and go back up to change the Final Size to Default, it still keeps the Aspect Ratio of 16:9. I've also heard people messing with the Deinterlacing section and some say to let it be.I hope this helps. :D

  • I cant seem to get the 1080p bit on devede. all I can use is default, any reason why???

  • @adii3317 Ok make sure you select add and then brows for your video. Don't just drag and drop it in the DeVeDe box. From there you will see the advanced options drop down menu. (5:43)

  • How the hell do you download a song on linux ?

    plz help

  • I'm Number 1!

  • @HaMMYKiiNG1 Ha okay...?

  • @Jontheking100 which window u r using.

  • @TheSalman0345 What do you mean?

  • do i have to do this everytime i recode

  • mine doesnt work it only saids 'Recording is finished.

    recordMyDesktop has excited with status:332

    Description:Connot open file for writing.

  • It keeps telling me there is some kind of Mencoder error? I tried re installing MPlayer or something like that. Apparently that is what Mencoder is? I am using Lubuntu..... I really need this to work.... Any help?

  • Can Pitivi do the same like Avidemux? I have Pitivi and dont wanna to have 2 video editor. pls answer

  • @ggookkssi Yes, Pitivi can do the same as Avidemux.

  • Thanks :D

  • @casstax No problem :)

  • @Jontheking100

    do you have a mac??

  • @crazykilla1408 Nope! I am running a dual-partition with Ubuntu Linux, I think that version was 9.04.. But Nah, I don't even own a Mac. Too poor! That's why I have Linux, it's free!

  • @Jontheking100 I'm going to subscribe you channel :D

  • @casstax Sweet! Thanks man. More the merrier!

  • you are a legend sir i love you ive been trying so hard to convert ogv's and you did it so simple i feel like afool

  • @grandgranadiers Thanks man, I do what I do.

  • its just for linux !! how i can use this programs in windows 7 ?????

  • i have a problem, in the end the audio and video quality is great but when i convert with devede i get a problem. On the top i can' t see my top panel but instead i have a kind of line and a mirror effect! I can't find any solution, I hope you can drive me..

  • @farigiovanni What video editor are you using to convert the video?

  • @Jontheking100 im getting the problem after converting with DeVeDe here there is a video to show you the problem on the top screen, actually is missing the top panel and instead you can see a kind of reflex. . about the video editor i was using openshot, I found it very nice but after 3 days he stopped to work, I can t open it anymore in fact for this i used avidemux.

  • @Jontheking100 the video is " after devede "

  • @farigiovanni Ok, try using Open Shot Video Editor... It is a really nice video editing software that will compile the videos in HD quality... I found out about this software after I made this video.

  • great job thanks

  • my video lags the shit out of itself

  • @97pizzaboy Its probably your video card, it's not powerful enough, or your processor can't handle all of the calculations. Try putting down the quality, the quality will be lower but you won't get as much lag.

  • How would i edit the video so that the speed would be uhm how about 50x? or anything lower or higher

  • @UbuntuArts I found a new video editor instead of Avidemux, use Open Shot Video editor. It is amazing and you can edit speed and pretty much everything!

  • @Jontheking100 oh i have that too lol can you tell me how to speed up a video?

  • @BlendGAmeR999 Sorry, I use Windows for that. It's not free either.

  • TNX MAN!!!!!

    BIG SUBSCRIBE!!!!

  • @MegaLuka99 Thanks. I appreciate it.

  • hey i need help with my built in mic thats not recording in anything iv tried the alsamixer i turned the front mic and mic boost all the way up and tried again and still nothing please help me

  • For some reason my built in mic wont record my voice in audacity. Is their anyway i can fix that? (I restarted my PC after installing Audacity)

  • @DARTHZANRUIT OK, if your mic doesn't record at all, open up your Terminal (Applications>Accessories>Terminal) type in "alsamixer" without the quotes. Then you use the arrow keys to go to mic... turn the mic all the way up, including front mic. See if that helps, thanks!

  • @Jontheking100 Thanks man! Actually worked! (not like i was doubting :P)

  • @DARTHZANRUIT Ha, glad I helped.

  • for Windows???

  • @MRARROYOonutube Im sorry, but this is only for Linux... A screen recorder for windows that I recommend is hypercam 3.

  • @MRARROYOonutube i prefer camtasia studio its good quality and there are ways to get it for free

  • @trimi68 in fact...Did you put the sound as .wav or Mp3... Make sure it is .Mp3... Sorry i meant to put .mp3 on the video NOT Wav

  • @Jontheking100 strange enough the problem was with .mp3 file, then I converted this .mp3 to .wav and it worked fine! I can say that Avidemux is one outstanding application, it's giving perfect quality files.

    Thanks again,

  • @trimi68 Yea, no problem, thanks for watching. I must say, I really do like avidemux. Perfect quality. Im glad it worked out for you.

  • @trimi68 Hmmm. Looks like people are having problems with avidemux. Try using Openshot Video editor or kdenlive. Just type them in the ubuntu software center and mess around with that, i prefer Openshot

  • Thanks! This has helped tons!

  • the final result is crap the sound is like hell, what do tou think is the problem?

  • @TheLinuxVideo Hmmm... Did the video look good before you put it into Avidemux? I'm just trying to see if it was avidemux or GTK-RecordMyDesktop.

  • @Jontheking100 no the video is good,I had a problem with the sound, but i've solved it,it didn't work with wav file so I used mp3 file and it works just fine

  • @TheLinuxVideo Alright good, glad it turned out ok

  • HEY MATE I WAS JUST WONDERING DO YOU HAVE A LINK TO YOUR BACKGROUND PIC. THANK YOU

  • Yeah, just updated my description for ya. Its toward the bottom.

  • lol

  • lol

  • you can go too synaptic and type jackd, mark evrything for apply, reboot and then the sound on record will work great

  • you said that the sound did not work, if you go to synaptic and type jackd, mark evrything plugins and all sound and evrything will work when you reboot

  • man i cant wait to try this tanks keep it up.

  • @ezricard76 Thanks! By the way, once you install the proper codecs, use Open Shot video editor, this is a great video editing software, better than avidemux, in my opinion, you can edit clips (Cut, add multiple sound tracks, make slide shows) pretty much everything in full 1080p screen resolution!

  • @KentW776 No problem, I'm glad it helped.

  • Thanks, very helpful!

  • @sirpecangum You are most certainly welcome! Thanks for the feedback.

  • thanks

  • @MsAlsheeb Yup, no problem. Do you have any questions?
