Yes. Back in 1984 while they were recording the "Southern Accents" LP, he was getting very frustrated with how "Rebels" was sounding. He later said he started listening to a demo of it with just him and his 12 string- this is what sent him over the edge. TP smashed his hand into the wall and from what he's said it turned the bones into powder, literally.
