Crysis is a sandbox game. This means that the levels are open and are not linear. Therefore, it is much harder for the AI to react properly to everything in the game, since the environment is so massive. If the game did have perfect AI, it would destroy your computer.

I don't know about the other difficulties, but on the hardest setting, enemies spray fire whenever you go cloaked. Also they walk into you if you stay still. The cloak does suck though. The trailer is a bit misleading, the whole game is spent cloaking and uncloaking, not running in with super armour, picking up dudes and chucking them into explosions :/
The problem is that just because you CAN you WILL use cloak, you CAN go in guns blazing half the time as you said, you CAN run around shooting everything that moves, but it's just your pure instinct that makes you wanna sneak, so you really got to blame yourself for that rather then the game.

No. AI is one of the few things in a game where the computer specs don't affect performance. Give me all the thumbdowns you can. It will NEVER make the terribble Crysis AI smarter. If you honestly think these guys are smart, than you've gotta be a few pegs below them yourself.
Well altough the AI is pretty bad, I loved alot of the visual aspect of Crysis, could have done with some final polish, but there were some very nice effects in places, but only very nice if you are running on highest settings with DX10, the highest settings are what saves this game. Some of the smoke, steam, freeze and water effects were really cool.
the only real problem was the draw distance for rocks and bushes, as they just appeared out of nowhere at about 50 feet away.
if you looked at a soldier 100 feet away, you could shoot at him, but nothing would happen, then if you looked through your binocs at him, you would see a great boulder in front of him when you zoomed in the view some more.
that was terrible, but the actual look itself was great.
Hate to break it to you guys but. Please dont critisize unless you can do better. Dont get all up in flames about this, im just saying. If YOU can make better AI system, i would love to see it.

Crysis is a good game, but jeez, talk about lack of imagination. The story is so dull that it actually de-motivates to play the game. Seriously, it would've been better if they hadn't even tried to write drama into it.
Crytek have changed this now; when you enter cloak mode, the AI will keep shooting at you last seen position so they are no longer "Extremely Dumb" :P
Fixed in patch. Now they shoot at your last know position, and can either see your shadow and get suspicious of your position or just hear you while you're in cloak mode. I don't know which one it is, but it doesn't really matter.
i wouldn't say the AI is incredibly dumb, as much as this 'switch to shield cloaking' technique was overlooked by the game developers... but then i remember sitting in a hut with a pistol shooting everyone in the head that entered, it took 50 deaths before someone realized that they should throw a grenade in, instead of slowly walking in one by one... lol
Yeah but..If you don't switch..When you shoot in stealth your suit energy drops to zero..So switching before you shoot allows the suit energy to remain where it's at

i did manage to up it manually, but couldnt get it over about 150 metres.

like if you looked across an island at an enemy, then fire at him, youre rounds wouldnt hit. then if you put your binocs on him there would be a great big rock in front of him, which you couldnt see without zooming right in to it.
yeah well.. i havent rly seen a game yet with bigger draw distance than crysis for most things so.. its just a part of the technology they had back then, its a 2007 game u know

i played it again last month, and i have a better GPU now, and it could take a higher resolution, but the other settings wouldnt change, and the draw distance was the same.
there is a "natural mod" out that makes it look even prettier, and that put the draw distance up for vegetation, because they knew many people had the problem, but it still didnt go up high enough.
yeah well i liked most of the original crysis' levels with the koreans more than warheads korean lvl's. Anyway, i completed the game twice (normal and delta) and then fooled around on delta some more (killing koreans with just melee) and i had a great time doing that ^^
yes, the korean missions were better in original crysis, but the last 1/3 of warhead wasnt nearly so bad with the crappy aliens, so i enjoyed it a bit more on the whole.
anyway, you were sick of talking about crysis yesterday, so i will leave it at that.

Well,actually the AI is ok if you play on even terms with them. Meaning:
no nano powers,no silencer and no sniperscope. To be fair an relativly
open area shooter cant be perfect balanced for a wide range of playerskills
and playstyles. Thats way to complicated. But even than Crytek couldve made
the highest difficulty REAL difficult and not a sight seeing tour. But for that they
must have had get rid of a large amount of bugs and put more effort into the
finetuning,which they did not.

Crysis is a good game, but jeez, talk about lack of imagination. The story is so dull that it actually de-motivates to play the game. Seriously, it would've been better if they hadn't even tried to write drama into it.

Fixed in patch. Now they shoot at your last know position, and can either see your shadow and get suspicious of your position or just hear you while you're in cloak mode. I don't know which one it is, but it doesn't really matter.

i wouldn't say the AI is incredibly dumb, as much as this 'switch to shield cloaking' technique was overlooked by the game developers... but then i remember sitting in a hut with a pistol shooting everyone in the head that entered, it took 50 deaths before someone realized that they should throw a grenade in, instead of slowly walking in one by one... lol

hardware doesnt really matter that much.
killzone has better graphics for a 7 series then crysis does for a nvidia 295 with DX10 or whatever.
its just that devs for PC are boring and create shit games like spore and empire total war.
the only reason i got a PS3 over a graphics card is that killzone will never be on PC and nor will gran turismo or resistance or MGS4 or uncharted or heavy rain or MAG or motorstorm or god of war or gran turismo.

ive hardly played gran turismo but i know for sure the cars and track looks better then any racing game.
also the buildings in the london map were highly detailed, more then GTA.
the mountains also look better then crysis....whether their rendered or photographical is another case but its FACT they look better.

i suffered SEVERE low draw distances, with everything as high sa it would go, at 1280x1024.
wouldnt go to MAX settings, i assume because i dont have DX10.
but rocks and bushes and barrels and shit were popping up at about 50 metres away.

the main draw distance was fine, i could see to infinity, but things like rocks, small bushes and barrels would just appear out of nowhere.
i did manage to up it manually, but couldnt get it over about 150 metres.
i dunno, it was wierd.
like if you looked across an island at an enemy, then fire at him, youre rounds wouldnt hit. then if you put your binocs on him there would be a great big rock in front of him, which you couldnt see without zooming right in to it.

im talking about back then when i first played it.
i played it again last month, and i have a better GPU now, and it could take a higher resolution, but the other settings wouldnt change, and the draw distance was the same.
there is a "natural mod" out that makes it look even prettier, and that put the draw distance up for vegetation, because they knew many people had the problem, but it still didnt go up high enough.

i finished the game anyway, and its not that good that i want to play it over again, cos the ending was awful, with the aliens and that.

yeah well i liked most of the original crysis' levels with the koreans more than warheads korean lvl's. Anyway, i completed the game twice (normal and delta) and then fooled around on delta some more (killing koreans with just melee) and i had a great time doing that ^^

yes, the korean missions were better in original crysis, but the last 1/3 of warhead wasnt nearly so bad with the crappy aliens, so i enjoyed it a bit more on the whole.

Grant torismo has PICTURES of things like mountains and houses and trees and stuff, so yes, they may 'look' better.

Crysis lasts 8-12 hours. In your case Id say around 36.
even you know PS3 has no real driving simulator like GTR2 on the PC
you might also be aware of the fact that PS3 has no real turn-based strategies, flight simulators, RTSs, point-and-click adventure games, etc
you also know that rsx is based on NV47 chip - nvidia GeForce 7800 architecture which is pretty old now.

i know a family friend who completed it under 10 hours on delta and hes the biggest noob ive seen in real life.
world of warcraft isnt a game.....its an addiction and the players admit it them selves.....some even kill them selves over it.
same applies to all mmorpg's
and that was my point....RSX is only a 7 series so if killzone can be created on that then crysis has done a really poor job seeing that it has much better graphics cards available.

KZ2 really should have done much better. Its not even out and it is already surpassed by Uncharted 2 or GoW3. Crysis looks better than both.

For a geforce 5500 Far Cry looks ten times better than KZ2. You got to keep in mind that it is a crappy card and KZ wouldnt even run on that thing.
You havent played Crysis, how could you possibly know whether its fun or not.
You can spend hundreds of hours in Crysis sandbox editor tweaking anything you want - the graphics, levels, even AI. Imagine KZ2+LBP.
Warhead was an expansion and priced accordingly.
And just for the record, Ive never said Crysis was my best game.

warhead isnt an expansion, i asked the person in the shop and he said u dont need crysis 1 to play it.
its a STAND ALONE GAME......dont try sneaking ur way out of it.

Warhead is a stand-alone EXPANSION to Crysis and is billed as such by Crytek. Dont even try to argue with me on this one. You dont necessarily need the original game to run an expansion. You are repeatedly pwning yourself. Why is that?
And dont worry about my best game. Its certainly better than KZ2.
