Welsh isn't difficult to pronounce....it's a bit stupid to say something like that really. It's similar to saying....that 'I'm glad I wan't born in France because I don't speak French'. Anyway, some of your pronunciations were correct there.....while a few were way out. eg 'y' in that sentence should sound like 'duh' without the d but maybe not as harsh sounding. English is inf act more difficult being a mixture of French/German. English spelling is very difficult for this reason
A QUICK WELSH LESSON FOR ENGLISH PEOPLE. This is a universal greeting used in wales. When you meet a welsh person say this for a guarnteed warm smile and welcome "Veen Hoffee meare-cred-tew." and smile plesently as you say it.
That is an insult to the welsh language!! you could at least try to pronounce the words properly!! the welsh language is dying and all you can do is mock it!! you obviusly don't care because you don't even try to pronounce it properly!!
Sorry you think this is insulting, but in fact we respect Welsh people and the Welsh language. We can't pronounce the Welsh words properly because we're English and we've never heard them spoken!
Whoohoo. I speak welsh perfectly fluently. Im loving the videos by the way. So i take it that isn't your real accent? are you actually from the valleys or not?
I think Welsh must be the hardest language to pronounce given just the spellings. Nick tried, bless him, but truth be told he is as Welsh as frog's legs (though that is a rubbish simile as he is not French, but you get the idea).
sorry for being a pain in the arse here but the thing about welsh is it's TOTALLY PHONETIC!(I've probably spelt that wrong) There aren't silent letters or words like "Cough" which pronounces gh as f. It's just a different alphabet so certain letters are pronounce differently. But you learn that alphabet and you're away!
Sorry for being a annoying. I'm just informing rather than trying to sound big headed.
I don't speak Welsh either (wish i did but no call for it in Crosskeys) but will do when the baby is old enough to go to school then she can teach me! They put a bilbord in Crosskeys once all in Welsh probably said "People in Crosskeys are Morons" or worse we wouldn't know!
Ha! Well, I don't think Nick would ever claim that his Welsh accent is the best. Sometimes it is more Geordie than Welsh, and once or twice I have noticed it straying as far as Jamaica. It is definitely the toughest accent to master (after West Country, that is brick).

Very funny and intersting for mother tongues, It is a good idea to illustrate a language .
I would be very happy if I could see the same in my own local language, bearnese (Occitan-Gascon spoken in South West of France).
Cath y Ci = Cat(o Gat) e Can in gascon;-)

Well, I don't know much Welsh, but as 'tew' means fat, I don't imagine this is much of a greeting.
