@sfinkis Actually in Judaism their is only 1 version of the Bible. What I meant by the oral translation and explanation I mean the tradition that was handed down since the Bible was given on Mt. Sinai to the nation of Israel, down to the present generation. It was handed down from father to son, teacher to student. It wasn't written until a certain time where it had to be written becuase some things were starting to get lost and forgotten (greatly because of exile and persecution).

@sfinkis I'm not exactly sure but I would guess that when we see throughout history of great accomplishments we see many times its Jews. We see it both in the secular and Religious world. Medicine, inventions etc. BUT more importantly and often less noticed in the Religious sense. Jews study and follow the Torah which is the Book of G-D. We had many great Prophets including Kind David (who wrote Psalms) King Hezkiah, Isaia etc. (over 1.2 million people who reached the level of prophesy).

@sfinkis Genesis 17:20- its 12 princes used bc also translated as "clouds", to allude to the fact that his offspring will enjoy a period of ascendancy, but ultimatly they will dissipate like clouds. Also if you go to verse 18 Abraham prays for Ishmael. verse 19- G-D says That Sarah will give birth to Isaac and G-D will fulfill His covenant with him. v.20- its G-D's saying to Abraham that nevertheless He will bless Ishmael with many offspring and that he will get some benefits soo to speak.

It has not been Israel who has broken every and all treaties for peace in the past, it has been every arab country and extreme islamic lead factions ie hamas, the palestanians. Even if you have a two state country you will have no peace. Not because of Israel but because of the countries surrounding Israel. Israel needs a buffer zone. That's why no two country.

Why doesn't Obama insist on the Palestinians recognising the Jewish state. I'm all for a two state solution but not at any price. How can anyone envisage a 2 state solution when one state openly delares that their aim is to annihilate the other.This is the main issue all other is bla bla How come there are Arabs living in Israel but Jews cannot live in a Palestinian state.

Why doesn't Obama demand of and insist on the Palestinians accepting the existence of a Jewish country called Israel
I'm all for a two state solution but not at any price. How can anyone envisage a two state solution when one state openly declares that their aim is to annihilate the other state. This is the main issue to be handled All other talk is bla bla. As far as the settlement issue my question is why are there Israeli Arabs but there cannot be Palestinian Jews living in Palestine.

Actually try peace? That is what the Israeli government has been doing since the reestablishment of Israel. BUT they have been doing it wrong many times. In order to have peace Israel MUST destroy the terrorists. They have to leave Israel. Let them go to one of the 22 Arab countries. @sfinkis I do accept everything in the Bible, BUT besides what was given in the Bible their is also an Oral translation that explains what the Bible says. Soo yes I do accept the Bible becuase it was given by G-D, but besides what was given in written form their is also the Oral tradition that properly explains the Bible, uncovers the meaning and also has secrets.

@sfinkis Actually in Judaism their is only 1 version of the Bible. What I meant by the oral translation and explanation I mean the tradition that was handed down since the Bible was given on Mt. Sinai to the nation of Israel, down to the present generation. It was handed down from father to son, teacher to student. It wasn't written until a certain time where it had to be written becuase some things were starting to get lost and forgotten (greatly because of exile and persecution).

As stated in Genesis 17, God has confirmed his covenant with Abraham and promised to greatly increase his numbers, and informed him that he will have a blessed great nation and kings through his son Isaac. May i ask here four questions. First: What does this blessing resembles? Second: What is meant here by "Great Nation" ? Third: Who is this great nation? Fourth: Who are these kings?

@sfinkis Great nation- I need to reread exactly but from what I remember great nation is the unique nation that came from Abrahams, Yitzhaks and Isaaks seed (also the sincere converts who joined them). Great doesn't mean great in numbers, becuase G-D also says to Israel I didn't choose you because of your great numbers.( when He took Israel out of Egypt). Great is more about the greatness in quality (not quantity).

The kings are the David dynasty that will be restored in the near future. (it can also include the other lines of kings such as Shaul and also from the 10 tribes although those were temporary lines while the Davidic dynasty is forever once its reestablished G-D willing soon).

I do agree with you that "Great Nation" resembles quality and not quantity because when God talked about quantity he said directly "will greatly increase your numbers" as in Genesis 17:1. But before going to the next point you forgot to answer my first question; What does this blessing resembles? In other words, does it resemble the existence of the Prophecy (Exclusive or not) line in Isaac's descendants or it's just a a general blessing or what ?

@sfinkis I'm not exactly sure but I would guess that when we see throughout history of great accomplishments we see many times its Jews. We see it both in the secular and Religious world. Medicine, inventions etc. BUT more importantly and often less noticed in the Religious sense. Jews study and follow the Torah which is the Book of G-D. We had many great Prophets including Kind David (who wrote Psalms) King Hezkiah, Isaia etc. (over 1.2 million people who reached the level of prophesy).

@sfinkis Genesis 17:20- its 12 princes used bc also translated as "clouds", to allude to the fact that his offspring will enjoy a period of ascendancy, but ultimatly they will dissipate like clouds. Also if you go to verse 18 Abraham prays for Ishmael. verse 19- G-D says That Sarah will give birth to Isaac and G-D will fulfill His covenant with him. v.20- its G-D's saying to Abraham that nevertheless He will bless Ishmael with many offspring and that he will get some benefits soo to speak.

12 rulers are the 12 sons of ishmael (their is a list I have it, if its important for you I can list it later).
- According to many in the Jewish tradition (also I believe Muslims took it from Jews and believe this also) the Arabs in the Middle east, like Saudia Arabia especially are the descendants of Ishmael. Mohamed was also (from Kedar I believe).

The blessing is that they will rule a large area (as thy do)- like Saudia Arabia, even going into other territory (like Iraq) and I would (think) that their cultural ideas etc. (especially Islam) to other nations not even their descendents (Iran, south Asia etc.). For Isaac it means that his descendants will be great people (inventors, medics, etc..) But for Ishmael "great nation" means that they will rule a large area!!! In what right you gave it two different meanings. To be objective you have to give it the same meaning for both

@sfinkis Also around middle of 600's (don't have the exact date research it, or I can later)- Arabs took the land of Israel, and 1,300 years later their "reward" (while the Jews weren't fully their) for being circumcised at 13, ended with Jews taking the land in the midd. 1,900's (1948 or 1949).

@sfinkis About Quality and Ishmael- G-D does say that Ishmael will be a wild beast. His hand agains't everyone and everyone's hand agains't him. (openly in the Bible) Soo we see its not quality that G-D is talking about with Ishmael. (Although the Jewish sages do say that Ishmael did make repentance in the end and he buried his father together with Isaac and then left back to where his father sent him- To the East, the Arabian lands.) BUT still isn't on the same level as Isaak as we see.

@sfinkis The covenant and prophets are 2 different things. And YES prophets can and did issue from other nations. example- Iyov, and Bilam (maybe some other's also). I didn't say prophecy isn't something to be reached. It is something that people worked hard and long to achieve (some were worthy, others not while others were worthy but didn't recieve it bc of the generation etc.) I know where you are going with this. You want to say see G-D therefor came to mo. But it is impossible bc..

Infact as you know, he bragged about being an ignorant man who cant even READ!
