Great VID but would have been much better if you kept a steady shot... instead of zooming in and out all the time... I do the same mistake myself... looks good at the time but later maybe not...
i was looking very hard at the wing and i was saying to myself are the slats up on that aircraft and i was right why would he do that just curious if some1 can explain
and every1 knowas that the a340-300 are very underpowered and i would never fly in one of them sorry ill rather fly in a dc-10-10 than a a340 :) seeing it take off lufthansa to dusseldorf it uses all the runway and its only 11,000 feet long at kewr
The A340 uses an other version of the CFM56. It uses CFM56-5C3/4, the A320 family the CFM56-5B1/2/6/8/9 and CFM56-5A1/3 and the B737 uses the CFM56-7B18/20/22/24/26/27 and the CFM56-3B1/2/4 and the CFM56-3C1
These are CFM56 engines. The A342 and A343 are both powered by them. The Rolls Royce Trent 500s are for the A345 and A342 series. The 777 uses three different engine types, Rolls Royce Trent 800 series, the General Electric GE-90, and the Pratt & Whitney PW 4074 up to PW 4098. Also, the reason 777 engines are so huge compared to the A340 is they have only two of them, compared to the A340 which has 4.

The CFMs sound small and whiney in my opinion compared to those on the 747-400. But still, great video!

The CFM56 also powers some A320's and easyJet's A319's use a variant of this engine? B737's also use this engine? Never knew that...
