Of course macs can crash, in many cases it's a feature. For example, segfaults care when the OS crashes to prevent data being corrupted because a program tried to access memory it wasn't allow to. If it didn't do that anyone with a bit of programming knowledge could mess up your computer with some bad pointers....

Apple only started saying macs don't crash with mac os x but even then they didn't say they don't crash they just said that it is hard and should never crash. EVERY OS has to crash at some point especially Windows and I find linux crashes a lot too. My MacBook has only had one kernel panic in 2 years.

Mine has 1GB of RAM and a Core 2 Duo 2.00GHz. And I have an older one with 32MB of ram, with a 150MHz Pentium mobile, on Windows 98. I'd segest downgrading the older laptop to Win2k, or you can give it to me ;) (seriously)

I hate to say it but its a Powerbook g4 titanium realsed in the summer of 2001, although it was a portable super computer it had a very short depressing life of only 1 full year then at macworld 2003 the better versions game out the aluminuim G4 same as the MBP, Also older macs can't really compare to new computers no if this was a Macbookpro or Macbook but its quite old my acer died after just 11 months of owning it

the only reason QuickTime movies are unwatchable is because I'm guessing the movies that your trying to play are in the h.264 codec. I bet if you convert all your quicktime videos to an older codec you'll be able to watch QuickTime movies on your iBook!!! (i convert all my movies to MPEG-1 and they play PERFECT on my PowerBook G3 ..
