  • There were no slaves in the north.

That is hilarious. NY the state he is in right now....was a confederate state. In the north...obviously.

The south end of wall street was where slaves were actually auctioned off. He is literally standing a few feet away from where slaves were sold.

The depths of the ignorance of these people never ceases to amaze me.

  • A dual citizen and born from a different country. I served my country in the US Armed Forces and believe in everything from the US Constitution and Founding Fathers.... I am not rich and come from a bankrupt family. If my family had not worked under the table and avoided taxes...we would be on the street when i was in High School. Taxes destroy the Middle Class no doubt. But I am studying business and there is nothing wrong with Capitolism, Entrepreneurship or Free Market Competition.

  • I agree with some of what he's saying, but the problem isn't regulation itself, but the fact that the government is regulating the economy in a way that helps the corporations instead of the workers. And the bit about no minimum wage and getting rid of unions is INSANE-- wages are too high so they can't afford to hire more people?? So what, we're supposed to share a single minimum wage salary between 8 people and that will be enough to live on???

  • peter schiff learned from the best, his father who today sits in a US prison sentenced to 12 years for falsifying tax returns...now ask yourself, is this a man you can honestly trust?

  • I'm a libertarian with a big heart. I'm tens of thousands in student debt, but I don't want socialism. The government is responsible for my student debt, and I don't trust corporations, but I trust the government less because I can't take my business to another government.

  • Do any of ya'll know where Peter Schiff's dad is at right now? protesting... in prison.

  • That says it all "nothing immoral about greed" in other words it's ok to be greedy.

  • I agree with small government and getting the fed and income taxes out of the picture. I also agree that we should remove most regulations on business especially small business. However I think anyone who doesn't realize that without unions and fiscal transparency corporations would take advantage of workers clearly doesn't understand history. This country wasn't built on the backs of slaves?! What a fool.

  • I still don't understand what this movement is demanding.

  • Workers were paid a lot more before unions? Wow, this guy is just a nut case.

  • @rober1236jua He uses Ford as an example, but he forgets that Henry Ford actually believed in paying his workers a living wage...something too many employers do not believe in, hence their greed, and not the "greed" of the workers.

  • he keeps throwing out that he pays 50% of his annual earning to taxes....most middle class people are paying 40% and not making millions of dollars a year. Go cry into your portfolio you tool.

  • @settone03 wrong, single person filing this year that makes under 80k taxable doesn't have to pay over 25%. taxes should be redone tho

  • People need to take a step back from their pet faction and realise you're all in the same boat. Left, right, tea-party, occupy, republican, democrat, you're all saying the same thing but keep yourselves distracted with "You're not on my team!!". You'll be worried about red vrs blue all the way to the bread-line.

  • @mryellow123 That's because people don't know what the solution is, but have different views on where its likely to be. For republicans and libertarians, its less government. For democrats its more regulations. Occupy doesn't have any specific point, its just a bunch of people who come together to vent anger and vaguely discuss being against wealth inequality. If someone is supporting something you believe is the reason for the disaster, and they think the same of you, how can they be a team?

  • Schiff is a brainwashed tool.

  • If totally free markets worked we would never have created the constitution because of the failure of the Articles of Confederation and the period between the two. He says it himself! If you allow Wall Street, it will take that allowance, sure there were taxes after WW2 but no one paid them. This is the long term result of a system that does not work and has failed time and again. it simply doent work. Currency is not an equalizer, its a surrogate that creates more problems than it solves.

  • Slavery didn't build America? Slaves don't work hard? What a fkn moron

  • Hilarious at the end where he starts trying to argue for LOWER WAGES.... lulz

  • Schiff gets slaughtered in this video? Is there a video of this with more views on youtube? If not, this needs to be linked to his other OWS videos.

Peter says "In a Free-Market people are greedy, but they are also fearful." Pretty sure they are NOT fearful. Where are all those criminal indictments for fraud that should be going around the Financial community?

  • Shiff, he's the guy that everybody rolls their eyes when he comes in the room at Las Vegas money shows. It's like oh crap, here comes Shiff, the guy who has 100% confidence that he knows more than everybody else. After all, he's smarter than you because he knows gold is the only real money with any value: rolling eyes. He think he's so smart, he'll even go to argue with thousands of Occupy Wall Street protestors to teach these misguided people a thing or two. He got pretty much dominated.

  • WTF is he talking about with this "half" figure? The highest tax bracket is 35%. Who pays 50% in taxes?

  • @AKSBSU 38% is federal, plus 7-9% state, plus social security, medicare/medicaid.

  • Still blaming the FDIC even after the beating Bill Black gave him. The whole FDIC reminds me of the 'tort reform' canard in your health care 'debate'.

  • problem with most libertarians, they don't even know their own history and facts. modern day libertariantards like schiff are sooooooo one dimensional and simple minded.

  • What a piece of work, he cuts everybody off EVERYWHERE!

  • LOL. This is what Schitt looks like when he's not interviewed by docile RT (kremlin) twats.

  • Schiffs argument is that capitalists are totally corrupt and thus corrupt government to play to their corruption. THEREFORE on planet right wing fascist GET RID OF GOVERNMENT. Well I for one can see an alternative in this argument...

  • Peter had better brush up on his facts before venturing back to debate the protestors. They all seem to know more than him.

  • Fucking snake oil salesman

  • Lol, Schiff needs to study Enron and a deregulated electric grid.

  • taxes were 91% for the top 1% in the early 20th Century. Peter Schiff is full of shite.

according to Peter the banks should be unregulated. he confuses the issues like most libertarians. he's a master of deception. the argument he brings up with Ford is because of PROTECTIONISM.

  • @LouieDaProtectionist

    William Mckinley?

  • @LouieDaProtectionist Why shouldn't banks be largely unregulated? Why are liberals so opposed to deregulation but love an all powerful government?

  • taxes were 91% for the top 1% in the early 20th Century. Peter Schiff is full of shite

  • @LouieDaProtectionist

exactly and around 70% after WW2.

"free markets" - what a joke - as if corporations or your opponents will play fair.
