It's sad, but my wife and I used to have the argument about a politician's personal life, and his ability to lead. I used to think, if you screw around, you should lose your seat, but lately, I think I would put that moral opinion on the shelf for a politician who is willing to stand up for his constituents no matter what. Even if it meant shaking up his own party.

There was a man in the audience who brought up the fact that several politicians out of DC were saying that many who are protesting government takeover of healthcare are mobsters, and he asked if those present at that particular meeting were also mobsters. Vitter was just going along with the joke.
