I went through radiotherapy with the new technique, Rapid Arc, and for 7 weeks and 34 treatments. I lost taste for some weeks but now it´s back again and I feel such a relief. I also had to wear that mask but it wasn´t that bad and there is notthing I could do if I wanna survive...
After all the pain, and an addiction to fentynol- which I managed to kick in the last 6 mos., now I am told I need surgery to remove the tumor that was original to me.I got down to 136 lbs. but have managed to get back to 150 lbs. and stay here. Two years out of work denied twice by social security for some funds that I am due, after working and paying into my entire life, and worse still is all the "Cancer" events I see everywhere. The american cancer society is no help to those of us with Cancer
u wud treat the wrong area.. the head shell (that thing on his head) function is to:
-prevent the patients head from moving
-to treat the target accurately by checking the marked line with the green lasers
-and also since this treatment is not done once but for several weeks, u have to treat the same area over and over again until the course of treatment is finish
I have undergone this treatment.Five days per week, for seven weeks. The side effects, unimaginable pain,I can only now describe-eight weeks later. On each side of my tounge the radiation Burned stips out. Each taste bub became like a razor-blade cutting my tounge, every second of every hour of every day.Even with a Fentenol patch, and many Vicodin, the pain was unbearable. My sense of taste is not gone it's ruined.Everything tastes like chemicals.I have lost 70 lbs., @ 6 ft. I am 144 lbs. and losing!
I started my radiation treatment yesterday on my face. I'll go 5 days a week for 4 weeks. I am already worried about the taste bud loss & hair loss around my ear. Plus I wonder how red, peeling, etc. my face is gonna look soon. I feel for you though. Cancer sucks!!

I had to go through 35 of these under the mask. It's not easy to go through but it's nothing you can't handle.
