the anime is Birdy the Mighty, this version is the OVA or original video animation, there's a remake out right now, in fact it's all over youtube, hell Funimation themselves have 6 episodes up right now, the remake that is, the ova is up too but that's a little harder to find, particurly dub if u like that over subs (personally i like subs :D). As for the show itself, I LOVE IT! Just the right amount of action, comedy, AND romance (classy kind ;D), it's awesome!

i don't think they made dub for it yet now that i think about it, at least for the remake, but yeah u won't be disappointed with this show, it's awesome, you really get to know the characters and the stories very well :D

I prefer dub if there isn't too much of a difference. Like Evangelion and stuff like that. I find subs take a way from the action because you are reading while stuff is happening. When it comes to Dragon Balla nd Sailor Moon I am SUBS all the way.

i can understand that, i prefer subs though cuz 9 times out of ten, it's way better than dubs, cuz it's more localized, gurren laggan was the only one with bad subs, and very rarely are dubs ever good, like Cowboy Bebop, or gurren laggan, at least with subs u learn another language :D, and it's not so censored ;D, plus the reading isn't bad for me, no offense but i can multitask really well between reading and watching, i guess you gotta be a good reader to watch subs, again no offense

@frenchfrey65 I hate the Birdy The Mighty dub.. but my main problem is watching on my TV... I'm blind as a bat, can't -see- the subtitles to read them. and some dubs are damned good. (but Birdy the mighty seems like they took a guy off the street with a cold, and then a few random people who weren't sick.)

yeah im suprised the anime didnt do better, after seeing this amv i watched the old ova's and the new anime. the storyline was good so it's supriseing it isn't as popular as other good anime.

The one in this video looks like its from the early 90s. But the "remake" or "new series" if you will was made this decade.

Yup Birdy was originally Tetsuwan Birdy or Birdy the Mighty. IT was a rare OVA I saw on Encore Action Channel back in high school....like 10 years ago. I found it at Wal-Mart about 6 years ago.
