  • A pure champion interpretation of this song. No disregard or disrespect meant to Shane McG, but when Christy got his hands on this it's up there, and right up there as one of my all-time favourite Christy M renditions.

It's on (I think!) the Unfinished Revolution CD.

  • "thankless bitches" as shane would say, good name for a girl band

  • Fucking love this song realy well done...i would have a request if its possible if you could make or someone a vid for pair of brown eyes with lyrics

  • Absolutely well done ...

  • Great song and a really good job on the video.

  • This is one real gem - I think from the Unfinished Revolution LP/tape. Personally I feel Shane NEVER did his own song justice but when Christy took it and recorded this; it's a classic and one great song. So true to life.

    Nice montage of pics!

  • my favorite song of all times. shanes poetic ability to introduce war drama into a love song is so heart wrenching. the C Moore version has grown on me but shane (god bless him) does it best.

  • stay in by the wall and mind the buses

  • only shane and christy sing this is accepted...so great in different ways

  • i wish there was a version like this of just shane singing..

  • @Biverix Oh that is SO sweet!

  • @MaireMc tyou're sweet too marie:) and thanks for uploading:)

  • @Biverix Ummmm....while I totally agree that this is a great, great song, the idea of it being a love song kind of confuses me. It's a song about the horrible after-effects of war. Still...it's a fantastic song...whatever works for ya, I guess.

  • top tune love it.

  • is there a more beautiful voice than Christy? I wish he'd come to Australia again and do some shows.

  • Nice vid skills Maire. Thanks for this interpretation. I enjoyed it.

  • remember me dad playing this when I was younger, the more ya listen the better it gets, love it

  • I saw Christy Moore in dublin a few years back he was awesome love his voice.

  • Love this! makes you proud to have irish blood. I want to be in an irish pub with a guiness!

'I saw the streams and the rolling hills where his brown eyes were waiting' X

  • Maire- Brilliant stuff. Only Christy could rival the original by Shane.

  • lovely christi,it minds me o another poetry by the irish man walking down the road with the irish rover lovely song x

  • Hi thanks for posting this great song and you video is very good xx

  • Nice version, but why that presentation?

  • Just an interpretation of the lyric with what I consider to be striking and appropriate images, using the Ulead software to roll them along with the songs tempo.

  • Very appropriate interpretation and pictures.

  • Lovely visual interpretation ... do you fancy doing one for 'The Green Fields of France'?

  • @Bohumill2 What fucking difference does the presentation make, I hate idiot's like you on youtube you contantantily WINGE AND WINE

  • Definitely not better than Shanes Version

  • This song makes me think of girl who broke my heart. I hate and I love her and I'd like to punch her in the face.

  • I'm with you brother.

  • HAHAHAHA....classic txt man!! fair play. Don't worry buddy you'll get over her. i used to date this polish girl two years ago who had brown eyes and a body to die for. fuckin model.

Anyways, she let me go but i met 'the one' a month after, still going strong.

  • Love you Christy. But, may God love Shane MacGowan and love him forever.

  • respectfully agree with lukessummer. this is beautiful. thank you for posting, and every picture tells a story, MaireMc, nicely done.

  • Thanks x

  • well done maire Mc

  • Love you, Christy. You've covered a great song, but the edge is absent. God bless and love Shane forever.

  • I think it's a testament to Shane's song writing ability that his music can sound great whether it be with his raw edge or by someone a little more polished like Christy.

  • We know what you mean mammutly, but I think Christy really got the song across very well...He is the Master storyteller after all!

  • Your opinion. My opinion is that it is a great version.

  • Batter version than Shane's

  • bellissima versione

  • Lovely! Lovely! And Christy---

    "Jasus, how's it goin there."

  • He's brilliant isn't he? Thanks for the great comment Míchéal.

  • i love the song!

but i dont understand it at all

  • Its about a man who goes off to war and has a woman (with brown eyes) waiting for him back home. He goes through the war, and all the horrors of it, but when he gets back he finds out she didn't wait for him at all. The main character spends the rest of his life, wandering, and drinking away his miseries, always hoping to find her again, but never does. Damn sad song :(

  • i guess i once had nearly found them but then, lost them again.

  • lovely , beautiful rendition of a great song

  • My sweetheart has the most beautiful brown eyes on earth....I love you Annie!

  • One of Shane MacGowans finest moments, and a lovely version by the great Christy Moore... Perfect! And not a bad video, either. Cheers from Norway!

  • Enjoyed the visual effects that were nicely paced with the restful music

  • Great song indeed cafc7!

  • Ha! Had NO idea it was you!

  • That is a GREAT video!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Cheers CelticSouthland!

  • Another masterpiece!

the images you have used compliment the lyrics, and the effects make the visuals roll along at the same pace as the song.

  • Why thank you too!

  • Very nice Maire, lovely song 5 star rating from moi xxxx

  • Why thank you!
