It definitely has some flaws (My personal worst are the checkpoint and stunt system)

If they took some time and sorted out some of those flaws it could've been an excellent game. Right now, I'd just say it's decent.

I had some fun races there (Didn't even win them, finished like 2nd~3rd, the AI drivers were surprisingly competitive in them)

To be honest L.A. Rush isn't a bad racing game at all. Although cars have stupid sounds (forgive me... lol) but they're not easy to handle and look not so ugly, some kind of challenging but gives you motivation to complete the game on your own (just like GTA series do!!) It is fun and is worth to play with, really!!

I haven't played it but it definitely has a different feel than the rest of the series. The first few Rush games were straight forward racing games noteworthy for their level of detail in the driving environment, not to mention the fun factor. The explosions and crazy physics made it a keeper in my book. I would have preferred that they stick to the original formula since 2049 was really good in my opinion, but I'll have to see if it's still a good addition to the series.
