  • Notice that this was never attempted again on this show or any other Trek so far. Frankly I think the producers were trying to compete with Freddy's Nightmares, War of the Worlds, and Friday the 13th The Series because at the time all 3 of those shows had violence on the level of an R rated flick of that late 80's era. Too bad this was never followed up on in any of the shows later as it would have been cool to have seen these creatures again, albeit with better effects though.

  • This is one of the best star trek tng episodes ever

  • this had me fucking crying in tears very funny imo

  • This is a rip off of an old outer limits episode which sadly is based on the truth

so boys and girls this is a true story and as agent mulder would say trust no one

  • HAHA!

  • Don't care if it's been said before.

    Check, please!

  • I feel sorry for the poor ensign that has to clean that mess up.

  • I just saw this epiosde I cant believe how graphic this was (0_o)

  • OMG it's a Goa'uld on steroids!

  • lol... check please.

  • What an ugly ass alien.

  • I first saw this when I was 11 but I think my reaction was less than hysterical. It didn't scare me near as much as it should. But it disturbed me.

  • Oh, no...not again!

  • I didnt know phasers could pop heads. Yeah, this scene alone shocked me a little when I was young. Havent see it again until recently. What is the back story for such an episode being created anyway?

  • @Mastermind8908 I think the back story was that the first season of Star Trek: The Next Generation was wimpy and the writers wanted to give it some balls. So they jumped from peace, compromise and diplomacy to blowing a parasite-riddled human's head off. They went from Care Bears in Space to the extreme ultraviolent gross-out.

Good choice, all things considered. They'd already gotten rid of that obnoxious Tasha Yar two weeks before. After that, TNG started to become good.

  • They ought to have given them to the borg

  • you are stupid for making such a stupid, unfunny video

  • "we seek peaceful co-existance"

well we dont!! *phaser shot* lol

  • I have a feeling that they dropped the potential second part of this story arc because it freaked too many kids out, and a lot of parents probably didn't realize that this episode was going to go a bit farther than "PG" special effects, even if they did get a warning about explicit/violent content. This whole episode, but particularly this part, freaked me right the hell out when I first saw this at age 7 or 8. I couldn't watch this scene for years afterwards, but it doesn't trouble me anymore.

  • @datalal624 by "freaked too many kids out" I meant that many parents must have phoned in to TV stations and to Paramount to complain. I'm tired so my point-making isn't "on point", as it were. :p

  • This along with another episode had warniings before them, but what was the other episode? Memory Alpha doesn't mention it.

Also it's a shame they didn't follow up this story arc. The ending with the homing signal sent out was amazingly tense and it would've been great if the insectoid-species would've been shown responding. Oh well.

  • I remember when I saw it. I was 8 and it freaked the hell outta me at the time.

  • Check please!

  • Nastiest moment in Star Trek by far *gags*

  • I remember this when I first saw it. I was in Seventh Grade, I had sort of been waffling on the new "Next Generation" show but this one hooked me, very guy in class the next day was like "DAMN!"

Picard's face at the end too I was like "Picard's like 'Damn that's nasty!'"

CLASSIC! I still can't believe they aired that in prime time in 1987-88!

  • was not expecting that....

    *moves slowly away from computer*

  • his head look exploding look like a water melon

  • you say lazy, I say totally effective. It was asking for it!

  • HaHa, that was Awesome xD

  • Check, please!!

  • fries?

  • Nobody can touch Picard, get real.

  • The first time I ever saw this, I was HORRIFIED (I was six or something) and had nightmares about it for a long time. Then one day we were flipping channels and saw this, then I flipped out AGAIN because he has a HYDRALISK nesting in his EXPLODED TORSO. <3

  • lol

  • well that had to be the most disturbing thing ive seen all week

  • I was horrified when I first saw this episode; they cut this scene for the BBC but the DVD includes this spectacularly horrible scene! Great! :D

  • same here in german tv

  • Screw the peaceful coexistence, seek a damn turtleneck lol

  • okay, picard's look on his face is priceless when he sees that thing come out of that mans chest. but did you guys see riker's face? how can someone keep a keep a calm face like that after seeing that ???

  • lol space balls.

  • Actually first "Alien" then "Spaceballs", however both scenes were amusing even though one took itself seriously while the other was a parody.

  • I didn't see any scenes from "Alien".

  • I'm not sure what you're referring to? In this particular video there are only scenes from "STTNG" & "Spaceballs" but in the order of originality it is "Alien", "Spaceballs" & "STTNG".

  • well since you put it that way, I have no choice but to agree. I thought you were referring to a scene from Alien in this clip, not the original concept or idea.

  • No harm done, by the way "Spaceballs" was released last month on Blu-ray.

  • lol thats my favorite scene in spaceballs

  • spacenuts

  • spaceballs! LOL.

  • Was that a young Tim Curry?

  • @Kaizerworks

Pretty sure he wasn't all that young when this was made. Which person/alien were you referring to? :D

  • @magenta1000 the 'WE SEEK PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE' one

  • @Kaizerworks

Ehh, don't think so. There isn't a huge resemblance. They both do have similar sinister forms of line delivery, though.

  • Is there any doubt that Picard and Riker are Republicans?

    Remmick: We seek peaceful co-existence...

    Picard: DIE, TERRORIST!

    *fires phasers* :D

  • Darn right. Remmick's aliens had just killed a huge number of people when he said that.

  • Remmick said the line about co-existence with a tangible aire of sarcasm and malice...I think we can safely assume that he would've killed everybody in the universe if he could've...most likely because Starlfeet inadvertatly killed a bunch of his people with that 'co-existance line.'

  • That's funny.

  • Yeah, this (star trek) scene was cut from the BBC.

  • good thing i wasnt drinking something...when I laugh that hard it usually comes flying out of my mouth..

  • LOOL Spaceballs

  • *shudder* I couldn't believe they did that in an episode....

  • SPACEBALLS FOR THE WIN!!!!!!!!!!

  • LMAO...

  • LOL :D

  • That's easily the most graphic scene ever in star trek. Very nasty.

  • and that's why it's my favorite.

  • Nice!

  • If I had to choose one to be the worst, it'd be this one.

    Tsk tsk!

  • @Tranchera pffttt... it's awesome... its like the show itself got infected by 80's horror... very awesome

  • spaceballs ftw

  • Strange, I don't remembern that happening in the episode...

  • LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ROFLMAO! Somehow I knew that was going to happen!

  • ROTFLOL

  • OMG,lool, nice! xD

  • Wow you have a lot of copyrighted material uploaded

  • I *am* copyrighted material!

  • At night you like to roll around in your copyrighted material like Demi Moore in "Indecent Proposal"

  • You have a lot of bug in your arse.

  • WE SEEK PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE.

  • XD ^

  • "We seek peaceful coexistance."

    *zap*

  • Riker and Picard in their heads: "SCREW THAT!!!"

  • Damn, that episode was freaky.
