Nice montage, but there is a sequence in it that isn't Rickson Gracie. From 1:45-1:50 it is Gerard Gordeau vs. Yuki Nakai, not Rickson vs. Nakai (in Vale Tudo 1995). You can tell this easily by looking at Gordeau's long, white pants. Rickson was wearing short white pants. You can also see it in the documentary Choke. Rickson fought Nakai in the finals, but this was Nakai's first fight in the tournament, vs. Gordeau.

Rickson's biggest problem was that he was so ahead of the best fighters of his time. He's an absolutely incredible fighter, and possibly the best gracie jiu jitsu guy in the world. I hope to meet him one day.

i should note that bruce lee was strong believer of forearm workout, everyday he constantly trains his forearm for gripping power for grappling and punching power, etc..... he was trained insanely, polymetric, isometric, all etc

More than likely it’s a combination of his wins in BJJ, MMA, sambo and other sports. But even then he still has a loss to Ron Tripp in sambo and according to one story Rolls beat Rickson in a match back in the early 1980’s before his death. Even Helio once said that if Rickson has 400 fights, than he must have over a million.
No doubt Bruce Lee wouldve trained with the Gracies.
Even his top student, Dan Inosnato trains BJJ now.
Chuck Norris was also trained by the Gracies back in the 80s.
Bruce was a realist and seen the importance of grappling.
He trained with the top wrestlers and judokas of his time...Gene Lebell stated that Bruce Lee LOVED grappling and wanted to show it more in his movies but feared the audience just wouldnt "get it" and would prefer the fancy unrealistic kicks and punches.

I have some respect for rickson but no way would he defeat fedor in his prime or not. The gracies lost because they only do jujitsu that what they believe anyway that why most gracie lost inmma. I could care less who he has or hasn't fought, or the debate on the 400 fights. All I know is that his Jiu Jitsu is awesome, even by today's standards. If I was so lucky to do a seminar with this guy I would be very honored, never mind the chance to actually train with him.

Considering many thai fighters start fighting professionally in their teens and sometimes fight several times a month, it can happen. In mma however, since fighters start older and fight no where near as much it's almost impossible. Anyway Helio Gracie said himself that the only fights Rickson had were the documented ones, the rest of this 400 fights were, bjj, sambo comps, sparring/rolling etc

Rickson is one of the greatest. But I lost a lot of respect for him on that beach fight video where he gets into a fight with a dude simply cuz the guy was talking trash about BJJ. who fuckin cares? But Rickson got in the guys face and, yes, eventually got the guy to submit. But IMHO, the greatest fighter period, submission or otherwise, is Gokor. Gokor vs. Rickson would be legendary (too bad it'll never happen). But Gokor would destroy Rickson.

@aznkhmy He’s actually 51 now. I’m a fan of his but even I have admit that claiming a 400-0 record is absurd if he’s only claiming that to be his no-holds-barred record. More than likely it’s a combination of his wins in BJJ, MMA, sambo and other sports. But even then he still has a loss to Ron Tripp in sambo and according to one story Rolls beat Rickson in a match back in the early 1980’s before his death. Even Helio once said that if Rickson has 400 fights, than he must have over a million.

No doubt Bruce Lee wouldve trained with the Gracies.
Even his top student, Dan Inosnato trains BJJ now.
Chuck Norris was also trained by the Gracies back in the 80s.
Bruce was a realist and seen the importance of grappling.
He trained with the top wrestlers and judokas of his time...Gene Lebell stated that Bruce Lee LOVED grappling and wanted to show it more in his movies but feared the audience just wouldnt "get it" and would prefer the fancy unrealistic kicks and punches.

I could care less who he has or hasn't fought, or the debate on the 400 fights. All I know is that his Jiu Jitsu is awesome, even by today's standards. If I was so lucky to do a seminar with this guy I would be very honored, never mind the chance to actually train with him.

@xmadsonx When I was training in Thailand I met a guy who had over 360 professional Muay Thai fights. Considering many thai fighters start fighting professionally in their teens and sometimes fight several times a month, it can happen. In mma however, since fighters start older and fight no where near as much it's almost impossible. Anyway Helio Gracie said himself that the only fights Rickson had were the documented ones, the rest of this 400 fights were, bjj, sambo comps, sparring/rolling etc

Forgive me for saying so, but I don't think Bruce Lee held a professional fighting championship in his life. For the most part he was an instructor and an actor. I doubt he could have lasted very long against the likes of Rickson Gracie.
