Haha, thanks bro. I've heard some of their stuff, they sound pretty good. I'm pretty partial to fingersmoran's stuff personally. But I really get a kick out of Victor Wooten and Primus, they've got some slap-bass skills, hahaha.
Hmmm... if you're into Wooten and Primus, you may want to check out Marcus Miller, Stanley Clarke, Jaco, and Alexis Sklarevski. Course, these are just suggestions.
As for the actual piece, it was quite nice, though I think the guitar would have needed to be a bit louder in the first half of the song.
Yeah, I'm sorry, the recording totally sucks. But yeah man, I play bass myself, actually been playing longer than guitar (Just with lots of breaks ;) ) so I have quite few favorites including Miller and Jaco. I really dig Michael Manring too, but I will definitely check out the other two. Thanks a lot man!

I'd love to man, just my bass equipment is lacking... I just don't feel like I'd give any song justice with my equipment. I've been dying to put up some Jaco stuff (Continuum, Portrait of Tracy, Teen Town (Actually Weather Report, haha) ), I just wouldn't do them justice with my equipment.

Heh, did a cover of Portrait of Tracy myself. However, I didn't know how to play it so well when I did it, and have since then taken the horrid thing down. Now that I know the notes, maybe I should actually put a new one up...

Do it man, just make sure you hit it solid. A lot of people hate new PoT videos just because they don't think they're up to par enough.
