Great Video... very straight forward and easy to follow. I installed everything and it's working great. I managed to import the site I'm editing along with the database but the my only problem is in changing the root path to the css. The pictures and content show up but nothing is formatted properly. I've edited configuration.php but I can't seem to find where to change this. Please help!

THANK YOU SO MUCH. I forgot that we had to install inide XMAPP and inside the htdocs. I played your video a few times and was able to make it work. SAVED ME HOURS.
Hey, Nice video! Any idea why I receive a "It Works!" message on a white screen instead of the joomla site when I type in localhost after the install? I'm suspecting xamp didn't install apache and/ Mysql right but I don't know.
Thank you very much for the clear instructions, I only have one question: What username and password do I have to use when I'm the Joomla Administration Login?? (time:8:21) Because I can't enter in my admin . Thanks a lot.
At the time 4:15 you are getting Joomla installation page. But iam getting a message called remove installation folder and click here. so i removed the installation folder and clicked on the linked then iam directing to a joomla home page but not back to the installation page.
i made a folder called "joomla"in "htdocs", but when i got to //localhost/Joomla i get error 404 the url can not be found. Apache & Mysql is running! pls help!!
I was seated at my chair for the past 48 hours trying out the Xampp and Joomla installations. With your superb presentation you helped me to get up after finishing it. I am really thankful. God Bless You.
well I had the security password set in xammp already so I had t use a password, but thanks guy. You got me through all of it. All I need to do now is figure out why the administrator log-in won't allow me in.... You rock dude!
ive confuse with the last part of the password. i typed admin as my username and leave the password blank due to the installation section you have told, but cant login.
Thank you so much! I was having the hardest time with WAMP and I think you solved it for me. I wasn't leaving the password section blank. THANKS AGAIN!
very clear instructions thankz

Hi, how do you log in to the backend administrator, i.e. what admin and password do you use to log in? Thanks in advance.
bigsalizzle 1 year ago
@bigsalizzle you type 'admin' for the username which is the default and the password you chose.
melpa04 1 year ago
@melpa04 i made the password admin as well. Obviously if you move this to a production server you would need to have a better passsword.

to connect to your database, you make the username as root and leave the password blank.
when you set up the password to connect to the administrator section of your site, you must add a password.
