  • Cool,Rigs of rods still better of course but Rigs of Rods' collision detection is buggy so u are aweasome!

  • i blinked...

  • you can submit a tutorial for how to make this???? thumbs up + suscribed

  • @Nahuel3d what hell are you thinking about

  • it does look good for a car crash sim, just have to work on that bouncing thing. Maybe if you could play with gravity settings or something, you can stop this, I wouldn't know, I'm not a 3ds guy lol.

  • That was AWESOME!!!!! .

  • Awesome job man, do you mind putting up a small tutorial for beginners? I really want to do something like this!

  • YOUR FACE!!!!

  • GTA IV uses the euraphia

  • @sharke76 euphoria. "euraphia" Roflmao

  • @xrayfishx -_-'

  • Bouncy.

  • this is cool. can u make a tut?

  • @blakegriplingph

    @TheAussieStew

    @Playstation3Gamer10

    @sacr3

    @TheSuperKeijo

    Okay! Okay...

It's been like eighty people writing me about that little thing there. LEAVE IT already... Or I'll delete every comment that will remind me that I was wrong there. God damn... GTA 4 didn't use physX.... I already have nightmares about it :<

  • @Qtittb hahahahahahhah hello :)

  • @Qtittb Rigs of rods is better.

  • So much misinformation in this video. No GTA 4 did not use Euphoria to model deformation it used the open source Bullet physics engine. GTA 4 did not use Physx in any way.

  • @Playstation3Gamer10 for the ragdoll physics yes, but for the car deformation they used, as qtittb said, physX Engine.

  • @YouWarhammer They used the "Bullet" engine for physics, which is a terrible engine since it requires CPU power, whereas PhysX could be rendered using GPU power.

  • GTA 4's deformation is worse

  • u should use softbody to crash 2 cars together

  • Very good!

  • Why so short???

  • very good effect on crash !

  • 3 secs? only

    retarded

  • woahhhh..kinda bouncy!!

  • Glasses didn't brake.

  • BOUNCY.

  • Same Soft Body method used in GTA IV's car deformation :)

  • @iassen1 Not really, no. GTA 4 used PhysX engine. This is reactor. PhysX has it's own steel like soft body deformations. Better ones.

  • @Qtittb GTA 4 doesn't use PhysX, GTA 4 uses Bullet physics

  • @TheLizardGamer GTA4 also relies on the CPU to render physics, hence why a Graphics card barely makes a difference for the game, but going from a Q6600 to an I7920 will give you 100% increase in FPS

  • @sacr3 Yeah because Bullet physics is only avalible in CPU form, they haven't made a GPU one yet

  • @TheLizardGamer Ah, didn't know that, just thought they were too lazy to make it GPU dependent

  • @Qtittb gta4 used euphoria engine.

  • @Qtittb

genius! GTAIV used Bullet Physics Library

  • @Qtittb No, GTA4 uses "Bullet" Physics, PhysX would have been better though since it can be rendered VIA the Graphics card, whereas Bullet is CPU only, hence the poor FPS unless you have an insane CPU.

  • @Qtittb - IV doesn't use Physx.

  • @Qtittb Euphoria. Not Physx.

  • @GhostXoP I'm pretty sure that's only for the rag doll physics.

  • @toms900 Sorry for picky children. Euphoria AND bullet physics.

  • @GhostXoP Haha, I'm not picky dude, just sayin.

  • @iassen1

ehmmm.... dont you really see the difference. GTA IV has a crappy deformation system. and this doest look like it at all

  • LoooooooooooooooL

  • that was pretty damn realistic

  • nothing more fun than watching a car get wrapped around a pole. That Was A Beautiful thing. Thank you

  • Pwned

  • a unica coisa que lembra softbody é o carro saltando

  • NOOOOO 350z!

  • why does it bounces once it crashes?? and...colours?? WTF ???

  • @fransamson the bounce is because of incorrect elasticity and mass values. the wheel color is so he can see the turning speed.

  • poor 350z :(

  • YEA! DIE NISSAN 350z!!!

  • You should add more weight to the car..

  • Cool.. but the bounce what a bit to much at end.. but still cool

  • nice

  • A slomo would be nice

  • full shit man

  • i recommend using Thinking Particles

  • that small parts is a particles ?

  • thats y pilots use simulators in their early years. they can crash the plane as many times as they want. this guy uses reactor and cars

  • Oh no you wrecked a fairlady... Damn you...

  • object is too light.

  • i have that car lol.

well before it hit at least haha

  • howd ya made glass fly around? ty

  • you destroy a Nissan 350z ...... i hate you ^^

  • @1994jorda theyre slow. get over it.

  • why would you do that to a perfectly good nissan 350z

  • looks nice man.

  • to fast.. it was beter in slow motion... ;p. but is greate

  • nice work,

can you tell me please where can i find a tutorial that explains this technique clearly ?

  • that was cool :] emmm i have a question is it hard to make a 3d car ? and like animate it ?

  • extremely

maybe a year of practice if you're lucky and have a good tutor?

  • not so much to animate.

As for the model it depends entirely on what you use it for, and how complicated you want it to be.

You can get free ones from turbosquid

Expect to pay around £100 for decent ones.

If not then be prepared to invest a lot of time into your model.

  • a cheap/easy way is to download a free model and make some changes to fit what your looking for

  • COOL!"!!!!!! xD

  • What Software Is It?

  • 3D Studio Max 8.

  • @Qtittb how much is it

  • @Qtittb does 3d studio max 8 work for the apple mac?

  • where can i find a tutorial for something like this?

  • Can u send me a tutorial or something like that please?

  • Happy Christmas everyone.

    Cheers.

  • Wow, its just great!

  • Really nice job!

    - But is the car not... like.. doens't it bounce abit to much at the last half sec?

(Sorry. Dont know how the say it the rigth way. I'm danish. Hope you understand)

  • Why the hell nobody comment about the Nissan, lazy bastards

  • Poor Nissan 350 Z

  • thats cool

  • Ah, damn, again I removed someones comment. Sorry!!

"i have the problem that it deforms my fdd but it jumps back to the origin. what i have made wrong??

    thx"

freakymicky, if you do use FDD box, you need to animate only 2 or 3 frames of it. That is, first you make an animation of a car without FDD to make it hit something, then you add FDD and Soft Body, and solve only those frames where the car hit theobject. Nothing more.

  • @Qtittb did the driver die???

  • thats a good work!

  • that was awsome! the only problem is you should add more weight to the car so that it doesnt bounce around so much

  • are those fragments particles? (not really new to 3ds, just not really educated either :P)

  • Yes.

  • thanks man

  • i search it and downloaded it.. but what do i go to for to make my own car crash or jump.. how do i get a car on there or w.e im new and need help..................

  • Woooow... Long way to go mate. Im working in 3D studio like 6 years now. Starting from 3D Studio 3. Not MAX 3 but 3, dos version. but also had a lil break. So prepare yourself for long-term-learning.

Try internet courses on the basic modelling and animation. Then move to physics with reactor. Whe you'll be able to rig a car properly, and mix it with a ragdoll, I'll show you how to create a soft boy crash :).

    Goodluck!

  • thanks!

  • what game is this? how do i download it or something?

  • Not a game. Advanced 3D Animation and Modeling software called 3D Studio Max. Download? Autodesk com...

  • if you do it in slow motion could it look more realistic ?

  • I think not. I use soft body, which would react unnaturally deformation lasting more than 1 or 2 frames. I think.

  • It bounces too much after the impact

  • Yea.

  • How did you make the car stop after impact

  • I gave the car first momentum, no gain or velocity, so after the impact it had no power to go forward.

You do this by making the first three frames of the animation (0 frame - car in its original position, 2 frame - car moved forward a bit) then set the Reactor animation start to frame 1 and it rolls.

  • well. is there anyway taht you can use MAXscript to create a game. and you can control the reactor car and crash them. at the same time it record everything that happened into keyframe??

  • Ummmm... I dunno... I don't use scripts.

  • Ok for that FFD thing. after I created a 4X4X4 FFD box. waht do I do with it with reactor? space wrap it or what??

  • First, create FDD(box) so you can adjust the amount of lattice verticles. Then in its subobject - latice (I think) shape it the way that it'll represent the cars body, part or whatever you need. Then, use reactor SoftBody modifier, select the FDDBased, and youve got the basis (reference frame at 0). Whole thing I'll present later, when I'll have time to make a tutorial... If I have time.

    Cheers, and goodnight.

  • Do I spacewrap the FDD box to the object?

  • Dont use FDD object. Use FDD modifier on your object, the one you want to be used in reactors animation.

  • What kind car control do you have??

  • Read the Info, man.

  • did you deform your car using. the snapshot technique, and then use link constraint thing??

  • I used reactor soft body FDD based. Reactor solve did only 3 frames. Just before the hit, first frame of the hit and the last - where cars hood was finally deformed and car jumped off the obstacle. Some day I'll make some tutorial on this maybe. If I have time.
