There's only a few things that could explain this. 1. That TA is completely stock. 2. It's a base model TZ and NOT a WS6. 3. The TA driver can't drive. 4. The civic is faster than high 12s. Just because it's a high 12s civic. WS6's with basic bolt ons see 12s all day long. That was way too big of a gap.

All Hondas sold in North America were designed in North America. So not an ounce of rice. But it is true it will get it's ass handed to it by American muscle V8. But that is not what the Civic Si is for. It is for fun at an affordable price. I have an '08 coupe and love it even though I get my ass kicked by my buddies Altima 3.5SE. But as soon as the road curves most American muscle gets it handed to it as the Si will carve the hell out of the curves like a master butcher.
that LS1 is probably stock to the bone. with a cam and other GOOD stuff it could be a 12sec machine. i have an SI and its cool to see it beat a trans am.

All Hondas sold in North America were designed in North America. So not an ounce of rice. But it is true it will get it's ass handed to it by American muscle V8. But that is not what the Civic Si is for. It is for fun at an affordable price. I have an '08 coupe and love it even though I get my ass kicked by my buddies Altima 3.5SE. But as soon as the road curves most American muscle gets it handed to it as the Si will carve the hell out of the curves like a master butcher.

@wildman113 no disrespect, but I drive an SI, yeah it's got 4 cyls but it has a nice aggressive sport tune to it. It's no V8, but the problem is most muscles on the roads of America are automatic. The last TA I saw was auto. Every single SI produced is a manual. So yeah, the car may be a commuter car, but it's not trash. Plus, you make it sound like people with muscle cars don't use them to commute. They damn well use them for commuting too.

Just for the record since we're saying about learn your shit. LT1s came from factory with 285 underrated and LS1s were 305 underrrated. And to a lot of people a S/C or turbo is a major modification, to others not so much. Regardless that civic was definitely quick, would have liked to see it from a dig it might have been closer.
