Yup, it's great material! The original screenplay is already quite stagey and very lyrical, so it pretty much demands to be adapted into a musical. You end up with the best of all worlds: the orginal narrative plus the added value of a whole raft of new songs!
Always fun to watch people urinate on the classics.
