This game took me by surprise. I never expected it to be as good as it was. 2 was a little bit of a letdown IMO, but Corruption was so good, one of the best games on the WII .

Prime 3 really fell flat for me. The spoken dialogue was horrendous with only a few exceptions. The music for the most part was inferior than 1 and 2, as were the spectacular nature of the boss battles (prime 2 definitely takes that award). However, I liked the concept of hypermode and the new tools that were used in prime 3, as well as the exploration of the space pirate's planet.

Overall, I think Prime 1>2>3. But they're all good in their own way.

Prime 1 balanced everything out. They took the metroid series into 3d flawlessly, and relied on atmosphere and music more than dialogue. Some of the areas genuinely scared me as a kid (i.e. Phazon mines level 3 and 4)

Prime 2 kinda fell short on the atmosphere thing, opting to focus more on a storyline following the ing and luminoth. The tedious search for keys at the end also ruined the pacing a little. Overall though, I liked prime 2.

The first song exudes power covered by a deep layer of serenity. Some "powerful" songs are all blaring and fast paced meant to be all pumped up. not this. While the normal "powerful song" is kind of like a geyser, blasting all the energy in a big show that amounts to fairly little, this song is like a deep fault line slowly grinding with the force of the earth itself. it is subtle, but the sheer power you feel from the slightest pulse is similar to feeling the ground move beneath your feet.
